One of the officers credited with stopping the shooter inside a Nashville, Tennessee, elementary school on Monday grew up in Chicago, and his family said they aren’t surprised by his bravery. NBC 5’s Evrod Cassimy reports.
Those 2 officers are definitely hero’s an pushed the entire pace of this team everyone else was alittle hesitant…. They were not … saved lives … definitely hero’s
Please uvalde and everyone else take notes!!! This is how you respond! These two look so young! And ran towards gun fire! Compare this to the “experienced” officers at uvalde what a shame! Cowards! These are the real hero’s didn’t wait for “back up” ran to the threat, neutralized, and that’s that! Wait for what??? More death???? 💐💐💐💐💐
And I think you are showing your inner ignorance here. Homeland Security and the lobbyist-controlled media mafia highly depend on YOUR ignorance to make these active sh00ter drills a success and keeping gun control propaganda alive. It's more of the same agenda that we've seen for the past 16 years. And you idiots STILL haven't caught on. They make you the laughing stock because you still keep falling for the same shit OVER and OVER.
As I was watching his bodycam, I was impressed with his response to an school employee who was giving him info after he got out of his car. He calmly responded, “ok, yes ma’am.”
@Shania Van der Halen What's truly ignorant is your comment & astoundingly shallow. Ever heard of World War 2? Wonder why it's called 2? Because if you don't study history & remember it, commemorate it-you'll repeat it. Tex-ass lost 'don't mess with Texas' slogan after that cowardice. WW1: remembrance day-at 11th hour of the eleventh day of the 11th month-you will remember. 1 minute of silence. In Flanders Fields the poppies... You are like the Pol Pol Cambodian genocide machine-trying to go to 'year Zero.' Erase history. I could mention a few more famous things-1st they came for...or Orwell. Each person here is allowed to comment. Who made you dictator? Ignorant indeed!
@Shania Van der Halen your comment itself is ignorant. By no means was he disrespecting the lives lost at Uvalde. Bringing the failings of the Uvalde police to light is acceptable and neccessarry, as its a prime example of how these situations should NOT be handled. Id go so far as to say each and every one of the officers there are complete and utter cowards, especially considering they were all issued level 4 body armor! That will stop basically anything but a .50cal. When youre basically a walking shield, tell me exactly wtf u have to be afraid of?
I saw his body camera and boy he remained calm and collected and even able to lead a team of 3 officers to enter the building as soon as possible. He deserves all the accolades.
I think the fact that he took the lead and was giving out clear directions made all the difference. He took initial control and set the tone for the other officers. The other officers were great. Didn’t hesitate. Got their gear and went in.
@@Joe_Bicycle Wow. Not 1 but 2 "literally" in one sentence. You even boldface typed one for EMPHASIS! You are literally illiterate. By your logic-every citizen of Chicago is practically a bulletproof citizen. And East LA. Baltimore. The 'new' New Orleans...
The officer is indeed a hero and other officers too. No question about that. But they always point the limelight at the heroes as a way to distract the public from questioning the root cause of the tragedy that unfolded - especially when the establishment has something to do with it. These attackers are chemically poisoned over the years without any objection from the people or the medical community. Just a few days ago a radio channel encouraged them to take up weapons. US establishment created ISS to dismantle the Muslim world. Now they are creating a chemically poisoned individuals to destroy the Christian world. Americans need to pay attention to what is going on in their country. At this rate, the country will hit the rock bottom pretty soon. Otherwise, these heroes and the public alike will have to suffer for a long time.
I watched the video before ever seeing any of this, and one of the first things I said to myself was wow, they were charging that building. Wasted no time and was playing no games with anybody. Props to them. Props to everybody in that building.
These two cops certainly deserve the accolades they are getting but I have a problem with the third officer with the shotgun ,he's hardly mentioned. He put his life on the line to save others and just because he wasn't involved in shooting that nutbag,he deserves the same amount of attention and accolades. He could have easily been shot while opening and entering any one of those doors he went through.Get his picture up and give this man the recognition he deserves.
I commented on a news feed that these officers were heroes and everyone jumped all over me. Don’t care! These officers saved a lot of lives❤ RIP to victims😢
Thats insane. I have been critical of LEOs over the years, for many reasons. BUT THESE BRAVE, BEAUTIFUL MEN ARE HEROES! They represent the best - not just of police officers- but of ALL of us. As a mom, I feel so much love and gratitude for what they did.
I initially thought the shooter was a teenage girl. And then to find out that she was a year older than the officer that gunned her down. That’s crazy.
That was so bad ass how he unzipped the bag so fast, moved up and down the sidewalk said “Yes Ma’am” and prob said to himself looks like I’m really gonna do this, just goes in. Bad ass MF.
Who said nothing good could come out of Chicago? Thanks to this officer's family values while some call him a hero, I have a strong sense that he doesn't view himself in that light. God bless him and his family, I hope he can get his 30 years in and enjoy a long retirement.
Thank you, sir. Well done. As a native Texan, and former teacher in Humble ISD, I sure wish y’all had been on the force in Uvalde last May. I’m praying for the students, faculty, staff & their loved ones & colleagues, as well as all of the SELFLESS first responders… Especially praying for the brave officers who had to take HER out. You had ONE job & y’all did your jobs without hesitation & so heroically!!!! Not all officers are willing to fulfill that oath, but y’all were, and teachers in these unimaginable situations, ALWAYS go above & beyond what their ‘job’ requires…. We WILL NOT forget any of these massacres, specifically, the Uvalde, TX cowards! We’ll get ALL levels of law enforcement there; more info came out on these dirty pigs on February 21. I just happened to catch the story this afternoon. They will NOT get away with dirty stuff anymore!😊
I am from Houston, Tx! I thought the same and wondered if only the UVALDE lame officers took action maybe our count would be less. The Uvalde officers allowed the shooter to whatever the heck he wanted to do until he ran out of ammunition.
@@lizkim1546 Well hi there!! 👋 I am still just dumbfounded by what happened in Uvalde. I’m just straight up pissed off that NOTHING has been done about these scared, worthless, evil ‘officers’! They had EVERYONE there; Uvalde ISD, UPD, Border Control, and even State Troopers, if I’m not mistaken. How, how, HOW did they ALL just stand around and listen to more & more kids get picked off by some loser psycho???!!!! I have 2 kids, and taught for years. After Sandy Hook (I was teaching pre-k at that time) I told all of my parents that if anything ever happened at our school, my kids knew exactly what to do & where to go & whom to call. Then, I always told them that if something ever happened at our school, I would not walk out of the building alive, but their children would…. I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that not one single officer had the balls to ignore the stupid ass ‘boss’ & go tf in there!!!! I get SO angry just thinking of it!! 🤬🤬
Englebert is SO YOUNG. My son, a State Trooper, said he and his team handled this perfectly, very, very professional, great communication, great discipline. So many small things they did right. But note that Englebert, the young guy, basically takes a leadership position and then when a senior guy directs him into a room first, he just goes. No hesitation. When they find the bad guy, he smokes him unemotionally and without “mag dumping” like we often see. Just bam, bam, bam and killer down. Caught him reloading. Law enforcement NEEDED THIS after Uvalde and Englebert is STUD #1.
mag dumping is needed for pistols, the weapon that the officer used was an assault rifle, those bullets penetrate even through BPVs easily so two to 3 shots will do the job. Also the shooter was a woman i think.
@@LokeshThakur It’s been confusing, but appears the shooter was born female. But did you not watch the video?!? Mag dumping is NOT needed for pistols as video shows. Again, watch any police shooting video by Donut (etc.) and you see a LOT of mag dumping using rifles and handguns. BUT NOT HERE! LVPO (AR, not “assault rifle”) officer puts four into the shooter using alternate ACOG red dot optic. Quick follow up team (one handgun, one shotgun) rush and handgun officer puts another four rounds into the shooter who was still apparently potentially deadly. These guys were cool, quick, aggressive, methodical. And NO mag dumping by AR or handgun officers at the point of violence. Kudos to them and a much-needed injection of professional CQB after Uvalde.
@@LokeshThakur Thanks. My son, who is LE and has all the high-speed training, says none of the pros mag dump. There’s ALWAYS the potential for collateral damage and fratricide, actually more outside. Rounds fly everywhere and anywhere. These guys were pros. Four rounds plus four. Done. Calm and professional demeanor and communication throughout. I’ll just give you one example of serious professionals doing CQB. SEALs coming up a stairway to get bin Laden. They hear something at the top of the stairs. Lead guy says a name. Armed bad guy looks over the rail and gets one round to the forehead. One round. Just one example. But again, I’m not the expert. I have had a lot of contact with let’s call them high-level operators and their evolution since 9/11. We’ve learned a LOT about effective CQB since 9/11 and many good LE organizations provide this top-level, leading edge training to their people. My son got it and practices all the time. Nashville PD obviously did because so many things about this are top-shelf. Even Englebert’s AR has a super high-speed optic setup. Note he just opened the trunk, zipped open the bag, grabbed and slung up, and into the door when he had +2. I sincerely hope this incident restores some of the trust and confidence lost in Uvalde. ☮️ 🇺🇸
They are all Hero's. Every officer that rushed in was a hero!!!! Putting the lives of others before their own. I know some will say "well that's their job" but it is not an easy one and I am grateful for each of them.
Proud of our MNPD! Our office was right next to the school and we had to shelter in place. We could see all of the officers, first responders, the SWAT team and paramedics outside our windows. Most of all, we had to watch the parents frantically run up and down the sidewalks with fear written all over their faces. I will never forget these parents. Thank you officers Engelbert, Collazo and the other team members who rushed in to take care of business! Nashville ❤’s you.
@@move246 .But officer Collazo made sure that the beast was dead when he shot it after it began moving. It was two heroes, two officers, that we need to thank and give them their flowers and medals of honor for putting their lives in danger.
DEVASTATING!!!! I have a 9-year-old and as a parent we thank you ALL !!!! 💙 You're such an example for the other officers that may need to change the way they handle situations!!
You are a hero Rex, thank you for your service. I know you must feel something for not being able to stop it sooner but it could of been alot worse if we didn't have officers like you , look at uvalde..🕊💔
God bless those heros! They charged in despite having no special gear and prevented what could have been a mass killing! You all take care of those men!
@Leena Wexler what she is saying is it could have been a lot worse, more kids and teachers could have been killed, if the police didn't act as fast as they did. It's so sad that they didn't get there sooner to stop her from killing the 6 people she did.
No doubt the thought crossed his mind of potentially not seeing his fiancee again as he entered the school and pushed forward. Makes him all the more worthy of everyones praise and gratitude for his bravery.
These cops and their partners were to the BOOK! Outstanding room clearing and teamwork! My admiration for their professionalism. KUDOS to their superiors, marked up to excellent training!
God bless you sir Thank you for the giving of yourself in saving lives. May you and your family be forever blessed and never forgotten for your heroism
It takes 4 seconds to take a life. And the rest of life to overcome it. You did good to protect our future of children. Find a church to help you deal with what's going to haunt you. You saved lives by taking one. Heroes are short lived. But that darn concise is going to haunt you. Did good young man.
Thank you for doing the jobs you do. Offices are always getting heat for things and we all need to remember that they are the ones that put themselves in harm's way for us to be safe.
That must have been so stressful and traumatizing. Not only did the officers have to deal with an active shooter and terminate him, but they had to go by the victims in their path, some who were only 9 years old. So sad.
Great job to you all, including the School Staff. This is how to handle anybody who tries to hurt our Blessed Teachers and Our Children! May God help you find Peace in the knowledge you did what needed to be done!❤
I’ll be honest, when I saw the Police video I just started crying as soon as the officer walked into the school. I felt how he and many people put themselves on the line for us. How one person’s selfishness/sickness can cause harm to so many people. Been praying for you all.
Thank you both and thank you to each member of the larger team it took to train, trust, communicate and respond. You're the type of of people I would want in my corner if sh*t ever hit the fan.
Listen, these officers pulled up and went straight to work! They didn't waste any time even putting on full body armor! That's how much they cared about eliminating the threat. That is how brave they were! No one has shown this much bravery in Nashville since #TheWaffleHouseMassacre a few years ago when #JamesShaw ran towards and single handedly disarmed a gunman and saved numerous lives. Bravo officers! Bravo!!! 💪🏾
Uvalde police take notice, that's how you respond. This is what policing is. Taken action and put civilians first when in need. Great job officers in this incident 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much for going in keeping our schools safe when threatened! Thank you all for all you guys do everyday and all the sacrifices you make.may God bless and keep you safe!
I’m from MKE, WI. Here’s to yah sir. 🍻 “They are not a fiery, impulsive people as you are, for they live in colder climates. But when they begin to move in a given direction, they move with the steady momentum and perseverance of a mighty avalanche.” - Sam Houston
Prayers go out to all that were involved in this incident. Lots of gratitude to these officers that did what isn’t the easiest thing to do. I hope the City and community opens their hearts to all involved and offer plenty of support. No matter which way this had gone, it ended in tragedy and in hope. Be uplifting. This wasn’t easy at all.
