One of many great David Bowie songs. Released in 1977. This is the single version. The album version is much longer and clocks in at around 6 minutes, but tells the story better of two lovers separated by the Berlin Wall (East/West).

So how are you doing your A/V? I'm just curious. Because I'm thinking about my recoding and videos. When I play out live, I get a great response from people, and I'm wanting to try and bring that live experience into my videos. I had stopped DAW recording, because Every freakN utuber seemed to doing the DAW recording, when you knew they were faking the performance... that's what I did on all of my early stuff. Pre-recorded everything and faked the performance. Like last time I was playing out at a bar I was playing Joan Jetts I love rock n roll. And I guess I was rocking it, but I was just trying to change the atmosphere, because people wanted to fight, well the guy that was causing trouble after playing the song came up to the stage and we just started chatting. He was saying was liking it and other things we talked about, but I get that response from people all the time, even just in my Cafe gig. LIVE, just is different and I'm wanting to try and capture that if that's even possible.

Great question. I know I'm always interested in what gear people are using to make their video also. As far as audio, I recorded and mixed this on my Tascam Model 12 that you see behind me. I did use some outboard mic preamps and a compressor. My vocal chain is SM58 Beta mic to Peavey VMP2 preamp to Warm Audio WA76 compressor to Tascam Model 12. My Guitar chain is AKG 460 Mic to Focusrite ISA One preamp to Tascam Model 12. After I recorded and mixed it on my Tascam, I imported to Logic Pro (My DAW) and mastered it in there to make it a little louder. For me, recording and mixing is a hit or miss thing. Sometimes, I'm ok with my mixes. Other times, I'm not. It's an art and a science. As far as video, I'm using a Sony EZ v10 camera, with a Sigma 16mm lens that I got about 2 years ago and it was a great investment. Prior to that I used my camera phone. But having good light is most important regardless of your camera. As far as playing live and capturing that live feeling. I personally use a Zoom H5 recorder. I have 2 line outs from my Fishman Acoustic Amp. One for the mic and one for my direct guitar. I also use the mics on the Zoom H5 to capture the audience and will sometimes point it towards them. I then import and mix it all on Logic Pro, adding echo and reverb to give it that live feel. Otherwise it will sound too dry and dead. Anyway, I hope that helps and thanks for watching. I'll have to check out some of your videos.

@@mutzmusic5737 okay that gave me somethings to think about. When I talk about Live, to being in our rooms and out in public. I feel that Aliveness, in my playing. Because at my Cafe gig, it's crickets, people give tips and occasionally say they liked it and blah blah. Only feed back I get from that gig. But I can feel the energy in the room. And that's what I'm wanting to bring to my stuff. That Energy. I hate videoing myself. But since I've been using my old smartphone which shoots great quality of video I still don't like to pose for the camera. I also have listening to things on the tv 📺, to get a better idea of things. After I had done my Angie video, I stopped using my DAW and just went mic and acoustic guitar and what every the video would pick up that's what I've been doing. But now I'm wanting people to experience that Energy. Everytime I play Scorpions Still loving you. I try to bring everything under the sun when I play that song. I'm just wanting the viewing audience to experience as if they were playing in front thousands of people, and that energy feeling. I do have a Tasca but it's a 4 track from 90's. And it being analog, it might give me that punch I'm looking for. But have my DAw Studio one, I was using Pro-tools but hated it. I guess from here it's time to get in the wood shed, and work.
