@youoscarz1 No the difference here is I believe Hamas as much as the IDF. The entire world has been "assuming" and crying out this is not how you get hostages back and that the hostages will be collateral in airstrikes as well as the famine war of no medicine food water and the fact the IDF has a track record of killing there own hostages to avoid negotiations. This has now confirmed what the world had already assumed for months. The IDF in the end will say Hamas killed those hostages as if that makes any sense. The previous hostages came out and said that when the IDF soilders got close and we're unequivocally shooting everyone, Hamas shielded the hostages from bullets with whatever they could find and some even did with there own bodies. Think about that hostages once released said Hamas members were willing to take bullets for them from the IDF. Another Israeli women came out after October 7th and said when Hamas entered her home she yelled there's children here. Hamas said we don't harm kids and women. They stayed for 2 hours in a separate room from the family asked the women if one of them could have her banana (he didn't just take it) is what shocked her but that he still asked her politely and then left. Look it up on RU-vid. All of this has been verified. There were no beheadings or mass rapes. Every Israeli is forced to serve in the IDF meaning most of the residents in Israel are the IDF and reservist so from an enemies point of view unless your the elderly or children you're fair game.

Thats never been the goal. The goal became to defeat Hamas because it would indirectly lead to getting back the hostages. The hostages are in close quarters with Hamas, so "getting rid of Hamas"-- however ideologically implausible that may be-- would allow them to safely recover the hostages. When the Israeli public remained ambivalent about a response to the 10/7 uprising, Hamas threatened to begin streaming assassination videos. Only after that did the Israeli government decide to launch an operation to free the hostages. Hamas are hiding in tunnels beneath civilian infrastructure which has made it difficult for the IDF to make any traction in the invasion without killing vast amounts of innocent people. This comes at a time of pressure and uncertainty about the hostage lives. Thats the larger perspective on the hostages. Whether thats fair in comparison to the deaths of potentially millions of Palestinians at this rate is slim.

And you become a reservist like any other citizen. On Oct. 7, 360,000 dropped EVERYTHING they were doing (literally!) And were out the door with their "Go Bag" within 30 minutes (seriously. Just like in the movies!) I decided later in life I wanted dual with the country where my father is from, so that I could have an EU passport, when they became part of the EU (for my work, to save time while traveling). And then decided not to (I literally can't recall why, lol). I have many friends who hold dual. My BIL has an Israeli passport. And if you have dual, your kids may hold dual. Again, each country has different laws on reciprocity but it is not the big deal people think it is. And many countries offer it. And again, it is about Statehood. NOT Religion. If your parent is from a different country and still has a connection to, and feels a connection that they want to pass on to their children (many apply when the kids are very young. To visit Grandma??), it is important to them, so why not? They are all legal, passport holding citizens. Of both countries (who are friends with eachother!)! Did that answer the question??
