I like how they say it is Only a small percentage. SIR, one time Falsely saying someone has stolen one your cars and getting then arrested, is One time to many!
I get two flats I call to get a tow to Pepboys thinking I had roadside I find out when I go to renew that @Hertz charge me $668.00 to go 1.7 miles from my house 9 minutes away return the car they still charge my card when all the money wasn’t there put me in negative
I've had two bad experiences with Hertz out of the three times I rented from them! I will never do business with them again and will always try to get others to take their business elsewhere.
That $170 represents less than a quarter of their yearly EBITDA. Not to mention they probably get a tax break from the settlement, which they shouldn't.
So there is nothing illegal about falsely accusing customers ? A civil suit does not solve the problem, there needs to be criminal liability. Failing that a nation wide boycott.
This “glitch” still existed after the lawsuit. I rented a Tesla from Pittsburgh and they thought I stole the vehicle. There was this person that driven 3 hours away to indicate they believe my car was stolen and I had to send them my rental number
Usually car theft is considered high risk so guns are drawn, so legally they are not out of line with respect to that offense. You can personally disagree, but no officer is going to get in trouble for it the way procedures are now. The police may want to alter there procedures, consider Hertz stolen cars as possible mistakes and not be so aggressive.
this does not help unless the verdict makes a PREVENTIVE notion. what is fair is that NO MATER WHAT, any and all theft claims by Hertz for ONE FULL CALENDER YEAR is to be ignored by law enforcement, this means that yes if someone were to actually steal ALL the rental cars, nothing ill happen...this is fair...and will force the company to change their business midel. After all Profit is a reult and no business has a right to a result, they have right to a process of getting a result, but NO RIGHT to the actual result. I have no right to WIN the lottery, I have a right to PLAY THE GAME and IF I win I win, but I do not have a right to buy a ticket and demand my winnings.........same goes for abusiness, they have a right to operate and conduct business, but Hvae NO RIGHT to any result
I travel for a living. I rent 40+ times per year. When I heard about this a couple of years ago I was a Hertz Presidents Circle member. I have not rented from Hertz since. Happens to 1/100th of 1 percent? … but the law of averages says I am 40+ times as likely.
