After using a Barrier Machine for many years on the 3-mile-long Tappan Zee Bridge in New York they finally realized that increases in traffic volume were never going to be accommodated with only seven lanes. So they just spent $4 Billion on a new bridge that will initially carry 8 lanes of traffic but, with additional capacity added to the approach roadways, will be capable of moving 16 lanes of traffic. The nearby George Washington Bridge has had 14 lanes for many years.
Dude you got an awesome job I would love to do something like that especially on the golden gate bridge which happens to be one of my favorite of all time so it would be nice to work on it as well
I was heading down the 610 West loop here in Houston the other day. There is a set of concrete barriers that divide the North bound lane and South bond lane. I noticed the concrete barrier looks like a snake. This is where people slammed into it from both sides. Long before the concrete barrier was used we had a fence between the traffic. The city was always working on it. Finally they give up and put the concrete barrier in.
How is keeping the traffic flowing by widening and shortening lanes 'Misspending' ? For that dumbass comment, you are hereby BANNED permanently from using any and all bridges.
