They look like nice pedals Dave. I'm OK with my Fanatec CSL Load cell setup and to be honest anything better would probably be overkill for me. I officially retired today so hopefully I can get some more racing in! 😉

Ole Dan Suzuki said, in past video, that the GT3 use the most braking at around 75%. Was in his never lock up again video. I have my Huesinkveld's at 76% and I never lock anymore, and on my old CSL's it was constantly an issue.

loving the Ultimate Plus and like you 80kg is too much for me! Have mine at 70kg. The fact you can adjust everything per car is fantastic. Dom

I've found that with the harder bushes a higher force is easier to reach and more controllable 😁

Thanks for the video. I have ordered one mainly because of the new board (EMI issues sorted) and mounting option. Also, it appears that the brake pedal travel is like in a real car. What is your current opinion, and what rubber configuration do you use?

I just upgraded my rig to the ultimate +. I hung o. To the sprints for the smart control. So far I am super impressed the feel is spectacular and I still haven’t set the bumpers to where I want them.

You should try out harder rubbers. I was using the white rubbers for years and swapped two of them against rigid black ones this year which is IMO much better. The softer rubbers compress relatively easy until a certain point and if this is setup to be 70-80% pressure you feel a resistance and know it's going into the lockup-territory. With the Ultimates I'm using black/green/white, but I think I will switch to black/black/white to get a more solid 'bumpstop'. It's still no problem pushing 100% if necessary and I always suggest to use shakers to feel lockup in the pedals. There is also a "BJ 2.0 Vibrator Kit for pedals set" for a small price. I don't know if this is worth it and two Buttkicker Mini do the trick anyway for me.

HI Dave. For those that use the iRacing “custom controls for this car” option to AUTOMATICALLY load specific per-car pedal calibrations, am I correct in assuming that with the new Ultimate+ software they will now need to MANUALLY switch the SmartControl calibration profile per-car?

Great video. However, don’t you still have to use the calibration through iRacing as well? How does this impact the Heusinkveld software? I’ve struggled with understanding how to get the right feel when you have to calibrate in two different places.

With the throttle travel, have you replaced the blue bump stop rubbers? I wonder if they are a little thicker, so stopping the pedal travel a little earlier.

No, I didn't change them. It's just the shorter tod end i think. It's only minimal.

What I found out with the soft rubber I like 50kg and with the hard rubber 80kg. But at the end I end up liking the soft one because of the travel you can get with the soft. But I don’t use shoes I drive with socks lol

Hi Dave. I've installed the upgrade but the clutch and the brake are exchanged on the control Software (I've checked the position in the motherboard). Do you know how to solve it?

I don't set any limit on the brake so the software doesn't really help me. The brake is super nice though 👍

Yes, the Ultimates are much better, but they should be as a lot more expensive. If I were you and my pockets were deep enough, I'd get the Ultimates 👍

Looks like your clutch mechanism isn't fully resetting to a flat angle. You might want to loosen the side nylock washers.

Just increase the preload a bit, pedal should snap right back to 0. Always recalibrate after a preload adjustment or at least check the deadzone. 👍🏻

@@davecamm I own the same Linsoul KZ ZSX but I would advice you to get Shure SE215-CL it is a completely different experience! More comfortable to wear for long sessions and the audio is way better. Another little thing you may like is the "Shure A26X 3" Extension Tube, it goes in between your rode screw attachment and the shure sm7b mic

@@davecamm That’s very good because I have now Fanatec CSL Elite pedals and throttle is too loose and too short travel which makes it tricky to modulate well on wet track and for cars with no TC. I give unaware to much gas because of loose and short travel. That’s my main reason to go for Heusinkveld Ultimates+ for Throttle configuration to my taste and yeah also better brake feel. 🏁

Dave how about setting it 5 % lower than your second last setting, the idea is you still have the max brake force while the momentum is high but it tapers down when the momentum is lower. Just something I was noticing watching you might be worth a try??

I’m at the kg limit in my Sprints, only reason I consider upgrade is for more headroom. I suppose the Sprints would sell easily to offset the upgrade. Oh jeepers. Stop.

I'm between 45 to 50 max on the sprints brake pedal for the GTE with 100% being at 82% While I run 34 Kg in GT3's and 100% being at 77% not to tackle the ABS system. Yeah these pedals can do crazy braking Kg and I don't see why anyone would need them unless they race single seaters.

its easy to do 80-100 kgs in a proper rig. It is way easier to controll modulation for middle part of pressure, with heavier pedal setup

The trick for a very stiff pedal, is to have a very short throw, and correct body position. You might be surprised how much force non-servo brakes on GT3 cars require (in the ballpark of 160-200kg depending on the car). It feels like you will have walked a whole ten miles on a single foot.

I do have the heusinkveld ultimate (for more than 3 yrs) and honestlty I don't see any benefit of having that control over the pedals. I mean, wouldn't be more productive learning to brake properly instead of setting a threshold in a software? Each car and even the same car with different setup and also track conditions will dictate the brake threshold before locking, so setting that value in my mind is impossible. When doing threshold braking (not trail braking), the locking will greatly depend on the speed of the car and downforce of the setup. In a GTE car like the BMW you just tested, is a good example. Then if you consider that you set 80% max force and with that value you don't lock, how do you know that you are not losing a bit of braking performance? About pedal smothness you said everything, if you maintain properly, they will be as smoth as new. The calibration software is actually nice for setting up the pedals, but other than that i think is a wast of time. Anyway, good content!

If you don't get faster with that kind of setup I think it would be fair to say that you would be better doing truck simulator content. The racing Sim world is rigged and whoever gets the best setup has a big edge (at least 1 or 2 seconds per lap) with good pedals alone..

Well ofcourse it's there to buy same goes to real lambos and ferraris. Cost wise just to play iracing is more than many can afford, let alone the cost of a good pc, and setup. Considering a good pc is like 3000€ atp in time, plus at least 500 € year for iracing and tracks. That wheel and pedal setup alone will cost more than the pc itself. Not your fault obviously but it's becoming a elite kinda sport you have to make a 7k+investment to have the same setup. My first ever car costed like 3k, How will I tell my wife about that? 😂😂
