In April of 2008, I mounted my Traffie Technology HX-5Bi 5-Band Hex-Beam on a 15-meter crank-up telescoping mast ... I fabricated an electric winch and mount to facilitate raising and lowering the antenna ... this makes it easy to lower the Hex-Beam to work on the rotator or antenna, when we have severe weather here in Metro Atlanta, GA, and when we are away from home ...
I raise and lower this antenna 25 to 30 times each year ...
The telescoping mast is self-supporting, but I use 2 sets of triple guy-lines for extra support ... the 3/16" guy-lines are Dacron covered Polyester ... they are U/V resistant and THEY DO NOT STRETCH when wet ...
