I feel like controlers like these should come with Hall Effect sticks by default, hopefully soon it will become the norm Edit: they added the option for +20$, nice
It wont be standard any soon. Big companies (PS, Xbox and Nintendo) would lose a lot of money because people would not buy as many controllers. Also currently they are not even endangered because most people prefer to buy original gamepads for whatever reason. Like they think those are better? I guess I won't understand it
@@semick4729 ? it's pretty standard if you know who you're buying from. Gulikit has been making first party competitive controllers for a while now, they just lack the market share because they're not as popular as said first party, if people were more informed/educated on the matter they can always vote with their wallet and buy the objectively better product for the same price.
hall effects simply are not as accurate as high quality potentiometer thumbsticks. theres a reason 0 pro fps players use magnetic sticks. sure theyre fine for other games.
@@shycreation9418 I find that hard to believe, the ones with motherboard calibration shown in other videos from this channel seem to have better circulation and no stutter 'accuracy' is not really a measurement so i don't think what you're saying is true, I believe the reason pros don't use it yet is because it's new and there's no 'official' support for them so you have to trust whoever installed them to have done a good job. They also don't mind buying new controllers whenever stick drift appears which is the big selling point of hall effect anyways
£150 is a lot of money when I can get a Vader 3 Pro for like £35 I know it's only for PC and android but I don't think it working on the PS5 isn't worth the extra £115
@@willy7968 only issue with the vader 3 pro I have is that Steam Input has no way of understanding the extra buttons so you have to use something like rewasd to try and finegle it the way I want it. But for it's price, it's amazing. There's no way I can stomach the Edge's price or this alternative for that matter when there's such a good quality but super cheap one from FlyDigi.
the extra cost is because they have to buy an original dualsense and then modify it, re package everything and send and its about the same price of the dualsense edge
I honestly think all rear paddles/buttons are kind of an afterthought. I remember they started getting popular on modded 360 controllers to cheat online and the rest is history but my point is: I dont think the modern controller design is made to have them and thats why no one has got them exactly right. I mean just think about it. They are in a spot where you are supposed to grab the controller to have grip and firmness, most of the time dont give space to let your fingers rest (like here) when not using them AND a lot of them just straight up break. To integrate them better probably a whole controller redesign would be required but I highly doubt thats happening.
Bummer about the face buttons pressing flush. I was hoping in the tear down you'd say something like "put something here under the buttons to raise them slightly." That's not going to happen since you couldn't tear down. Bummer because I want a ps style layout controller. The Vader 3 Pro is amazing, but I slightly prefer the ps stick position.
probably you can raise the buttons by installing replacements for the original dualsense controller but I'll have to wait a bit longer to disassemble it and test it out thanks to that dumb decision with the screws
Fantastic content, as usual. I don't know any content creator that tests as well and clearly as you do. If you don't have it, you should grab a gamepadla latency tester. You could do it on every single one of your controllers as part of the review!
The gamepad LA lag tester requires additional internal connections to the controllers and since I dont keep all controllers that I review I dont like soldering things to it
@@VKsChannel You don't need to solder. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-epm2li1hrK8.html I understand it may not be something you would like to add to your reviews, but your content is so good I couldn't help but suggest the last piece of the puzzle 😉👍
