Your tape measure can be set further back from the blade and zero point marked on the stop block. Then nip off the point of the stop block to allow for small debris collecting to clear and not skew your cut line. The workpiece is registering off the stop block edge. the point is not required. Should make up several different angled stop blocks. Toggle hold down mounted on the stop block for small work pieces control. thin shims and playing cards at the rear of the stop block can 'shave ' adjust an angle. Many use playing cards and post it notes as jig adjustments shims. Also I've used drafting triangles and such mounted on top of stop block 'pucks' to register the work piece to.

Love this channel. I'm not sure why I would want to make a hexagon cutting jig for the table saw at this stage but I have a feeling that this is going to be useful.

I built the first version of the hexagon jig and find it was the best jig for cutting them. Version two builds on the original and is definitely more versatile when it comes to varying sizes. I would like to thank you as I needed to make lots of hexagons for my daughter's wedding reception centerpieces and this jig fit the bill perfectly. I pre-cut all the lengths of maple to the exact width and length to limit waste. After about 250 hexagons for 20 centerpieces (12 per) it was time to do all the glues ups, sanding and finishing. It was time consuming but worth it. In addition to this was the "greens", frosted wine bottles and table numbers that would make up the complete centerpiece. The cut-offs from each hexagon were saved and I have a 5-gal bucket of triangles (about 1000 :) ) that I have ideas for. I'd share some pics but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that here.

Nice build. I love art deco and hexagons and triangles appear in many of the styles motifs so I may build a jig for each.. As far as Patreon, a monthly video where you answer subscribers questions. Of course, non-subs will get the benefit of your answers if you post on RU-vid, but subs will be the ones asking the question, so everyone wins to some extent. Nothing wrong with that. I didn't know how to go about building something like this for a project I have in mind and your video laid it out for me. I was concerned about using the saw blade to align the fence and realized that I could use my table saw fence since it's perpendicular to the blade and provided a stable reference for me. It didn't come out perfect (about .3 degrees off), but definitely better than I could have done on my own. Thanks for the great guidance.
