The T28 & T95 are the exact same tank, the difference is that the T28 is how a T95 would look in transport configuration, they removed the extra tracks so it could cross bridges, that was the plan, if it was to be put in service
The BR difference is retarded. This thing shouldn't be 6.3 and the T95 being 7.0. It really is invincible from from the front since the cupola shots don't work anywhere near how they worked in the past. Was it a big surprise that the T28 & T95 were the benefactors of that update, fixing the ability to actually kill from the front?
Classifying the T28/T95 as 2 separate vehicles makes about as much sense as classifying a Naval aircraft into 2 completely separate vehicles based on whether or not its wings are Folded
At some point even Warthunder will go the WoT road and put fantasy tanks in the game... (just wait for the T28 Prot, which was 100% made up by wargaming)
@@rewesicherheitsdienst1018 stupid idiot wot is different game its not supposed to be super realistic while war thunder is a game which really leans onto realism
@@johnperez6297 first of all, starting a comment with an insult is not nice, guess your mommy didn't teach you that. (how could she, she's drunk all the time to forget you exist). Second of all there are already some vehicles which never came out of prototype stage (E100, AMX 50B, Chat 25t, the list goes on). Lastly because of people (or kids, rather) like you they HAVE to go the blueprint way sooner or later because people will start crying for new content sooner or later.
The T28 and T95 are the exact same vehicle. The whole reason the T28 doesnt have the extra tracks was so the vehicle could fit through tunnels in Western Europe.
Mako969696 That's called having the extra tracks on -_- Tracks act as spaced armor and having the extra tracks means more spaced armor. The extra tracks also have extra angling on the top.
other than the tracks, there is a 100mm spaced armor plate with the tracks too. The T28 is only good form the front, and it's a lot less mobile than the T95. At least the T95 can traverse pretty damn fast when you're moving forward slightly.
GetBucK: thats not true, its exact same thing that went through some schisofreny in naming of US Army vehicles (if i remember correctly it was superheavy tank T95, then rebranded to gun motor carriage, changing its name to T28 and then they labeled it superheavy again, changing its name back to T95). the "variant" without extra track is regular full sized T95/T28, they just put those extra tracks out so they can move it easier and put it on a train. (for economical reason you want to move tanks by trains as much as possible, this was to be able to put it on one) After transportation extra tracks were connected again. It was meant to destroy fortifications and bunkers, not to drive into tunnels ;)
Eemci what part of "50mm side armor" dont you people get? Just get around it! Hell, even shoot through the drive wheels. And the cupolas are easy pen at 116mm effective.
The T28 could be 6.7, that is true, but the only good thing about it is the gun and the armor. You crybabies don't know how to aim so you gotta take away the entire purpose of the tank? The vehicle is only good at long range. At close range it gets flanked, or cupola sniped or more often than not it comes across a Bias-6 which it can't pen. Its not a jack of all fking trades like some tanks "*cough* T44, IS-6, T29, Centurion, etc etc. You also know what ruins it for people? CAS. Especially the cannon-armed German cas.
CHALLENGE TIME!!! The high command has received word that our german tanks are trying to clear an objective. Get some friends together with the Sturmpanzer II (or alone if you feel like it) and use it as actual artillery in a match. Fire indirectely at A,B and C points and try to get some kills this way. Good luck. Attempt #6
Dah but my challenge is much better! So I suggest to you that you scroll up and give it a thumbs up or be sentenced to Gulag BLIN!!! Cyka blyat, this challenge isn't even worth a single jaw of Anoteli's home made mayonnaise, and Anoteli's home made mayonnaise is not worth much!!
Hey phly this is a cutenes challenge/test: You will take out the M2A2 at 9.0br and when you encounter an enemy try to look as cute as possible so that he will not kill you (I recommend spinning around and shooting your mg's into the air) Oh and almost forgot!!! You should put cute eyes to your tank good luck!! Attempt 8
That last sniping spot is the best. I go up there all the time in arcade. Tons of xp from bouncing all the shots in the world. Plenty of xp from getting kills. It's only topped by the top right spawn on the river map. When you spawn behind that crescent shaped hill you can just drive the t28 up on top and snipe the entire map. It is glorious.
remember how in Girls Und Panzer they literally made the outer 2 tracks expendable, like they made it so it can fall off with a button? I really laughed my ass off when that happened. Like, imagine, you're rolling around a battlefield and you see 2 heavy ass tracks, both outfitted with sideskirts and wheels, but no main tank body.
I remember seeing one of these t28's at Fort Benning when I was doing some Abrams training. they got an amazing tank collection, literally everything from jagdtiger, m103, t29, like every tank imaginable, worth a trip if you want to go because they let civilians into sand hill to the tank warehouse somethimes
Phly, the T28 *IS* the T95. The original had the extra tracks bolted onto the side with exploding bolts. If it ever ran into a place where it couldn't get in or out of, or it lost one of the exterior tracks, the commander could simply flip a switch and the bolts would pop and drop the exterior tracks. It lost side armor in the process, but it gains its mobility back.
I notice that the german tankers just sit there if I use something like the T28 or T95, even a fucking tiger 1 just sits there for me to kill them, it's you german players that are the shitty ones.
the guy imo the TigerP is the best tiger at its br it can crush anything and it will hardly ever face op tanks unless it gets up tiered but it mostly gets down tiered
The best part is they are literally the same exact tank, the tracks are removable on the T95 to fit in tight places and help disperse the immense weight of the vehicle. Just another example of gaijin doing something to make money
Frankly, Gaijin really went full P2W with ground forces. It's not a secret, rank IV is dominated by premiums, the 2 very best tanks (IS6 and T-29) are premiums - and IS6 just recently was uptiered to 7.3, it was a 6.7, and that simply ruined the game for a lot of players, me included, because germans were just dead in the water and that's the faction I used to play. Let's hope they learn something and avoid doing that to Rank V now rank VI it's a thing. But I don't have high hopes for that considering we already have stuff like the Obj. 120 around.
CHALLENGE TIME Ok comrade... is time to go FULL cheeki breeki, not half cheeki breeki, definitely not quarter cheeki breeki... but FULL CHEEKI BREEKI!!! BLIN!!! Take out the BT5 and BT7, but you have one order... NOT ONE STEP BACK!! You must keep the accelerator pressed down at ALL TIMES!! At no time are you allowed to break or reverse!! URRAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH BLYAT! Much Mayonnaise and Vodka awaits your return to motherland comrade
The t28 is actually the same tank as the t95. T95s added track sections can be taken of (which takes around 3hrs) so that it can fit through narrow spaces.
I bought the t28 and I love it, yes it's fustraiting with the speed but I have fun in it when enemy tanks come around a corner and see me at the end of the street and run for their lives
Dear @PhlyDaily, i noticed that in some of your videos (about tanks with 2 cannons) you have 2 circles on your screen which both represent the reload of your weapon. I am currently playing on M3 Lee and it is sometimes difficult to keep track of which gun has finished reloading. How do I turn on that feature? I wouldn't ask if i could find it myself, but i am at a dead end. Hope you reply to this. With love, One of your Latvian fans.
That's not at all the case. They have no difference physically. Simply different designations. It was originally designated the 105mm. Gun Motor Carriage, T95 but then redesignated for use by Armored Force as the Super Heavy Tank, T28_
Yeah Phly this IS the same god damn tank, the only thing that is diffirent is just second pair of tracks (not only for weight distribution but also it provided additional armor to the very weak sides of the tank)
The T28 and the T95 are in fact the same tank. It was the T95 during the 40's and called the T28 after the war. The T28 had an extra set of tracks which could be removed, thus why the T95 in game has them and this tank doesn't.
Nice video. And while I watched it, I was playing a nice game as a French F6F on Norway. Lost my oil, landed on the carrier, and when I spawned in again to take off... my plane got spawned in at an angle, makeing it impossible to launch off without blapping into the island of the aircraftcarrier. im ranting here because my voice will never be heard on the support forums anyway.
Phly did you know that the T28 is the T95 without the extra set of tracks? that is its transport mode because the vehicle is too large for trains and trucks with the quad tracks attached. It is the same tank destroyer just less tough without the extra sloping and side armour.

Next for Loving the Unloved: Last update this little creature was released onto the battlefield, but thanks to the bigger modern tanks it has gone unnoticed by most. Take out the British Daimler Armoured Car Mk.II #11
The T28 and T95 are the same vehicle. The sloped sides and extra set of tracks on the T95 were removable so that the tank would fit on a standard sized train car for transport. The different designations for the two vehicles actually comes from the development of the tank. The US army originally designated it as Heavy Tank T28 but because it was not a tank and was actually an spg they redesignated it as 105mm Gun Motor Carriage. They then decided that because of the extremely thick armor being uncharacteristic of a spg, they finally designated it Super Heavy Tank T28
Loving The Unloved/Challenge: Dear Phly, Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get a DOUBLE ace. Your weapon of choice is the He 100 D-1 This fantastic machine can dive up to 850-900 kph (RB) and can go faster than nearly any plane up to Tier 4!!! (640 kph level flight [RB]) And this underated machine is only at battle rating of 1.7!! I know people look down at arcade battles, but this is where this plane shines. Get a double ace in arcade battles (realistic if you have too) and prove that you have the power to rule the skies.
*Challenge Time* _One Shot, Two Kills_ We’re running out of ammo at the British frontlines. Take out the FV4005 and get a double kill with one shot! Like pls if you want to see this as well! Attempt #1
The T28 and the T95 are the same tank at different stages in development. The reason for the big number difference is because they weren't sure if they were going to classify the tank as a heavy tank or a tank destroyer. 28 was the next number for heavy tank and 95 was the next number for tank destroyer.
“Uploaded 45 seconds ago” I MUST TAKE MY CHANCE! How about trying to flank the enemy with the KV-2? Should be enough of a challenge, since your turret is huge!
As already said, the T28 and T95 are the same TD. The tracks are just removed for transport(T28), and for some reason, WoT and WT call these two different TD's
FINALLY! I got a notification for you vid. Your content never gets old, I've seen a lot of your vids more then once I can tell you that. your the reason I play warthunder to be honest. I'm sure lots of people can agree that you are 100% best youtuber... now that I'm done rambling is it better to buy the t28 or get a tailsman for my t95 🤔
Then you are just an horrible player. The Jumbo is one of the most OP tanks, I'm talking IS-6 level. If there's a Jumbo that sucks it's the 76 one, at 5.7 it's useless, but the 75 one at 4.7 is borderline cheating. They should move the 75 one to 5.0 and the 76 to 5.3
Phly..... The t95 was t28 with the extra track attachments. Its the americans way of making an impenetrable tank. The t28 was too slow and didnt have enough traction so they modified the transmission and added extra tracks. Supposedly some could even drop the extra tracks if they were damaged and carry on.
Actually phly, the t-28's side armor is a huge weakness against tigers, especially when wiggleing to avoid shots into the coupola. Even at high angles, tigers can penetrate its sides.
The second tread was actually added because the tank was too heavy for grass and dirt. And mud? Forget about it. Not for bridges or tunnels. There are actual archive videos explaining this by the original designer with some audio clips from the tank operator during field trials. So when the tank was transported, the second tread was removed until it got to its destination, and then once off the trailer, would basically drive into the second treads, which where carried seperately by a support flatbed. It was originally designed to with one set of treads, but field trials showed it was WAY too heavy for one set of treads. There is no way this tank could function as shown in this game, especially with only one set of treads. Its way too fast and agile. Only 2 were even built, one burned and the other left to rot.
phly, the side armor the T95 gets is ADDED to the exact same chassis as the T28, so it's an addition 60mm of angled spaced armor. It doesn't suggest a .7 BR spread at all, but still, T95 is much better.
Actually it was funny, In the Girls und Panzers movie, T95 is rolling down the street bouncing shots... the lighter tanks zip though a narrow street gap, "Its to wide to fit through there!" So a series of explosive bolts goes off starting at the front... where those front 2 bolts are..... and right down that seperation line you can see on the t95 and... they fall off with the "t28e" rolling out. LOL... the movie at least has the extra set of tracks and side armor... "bolted on" to increase survivbility.
T95 and T28 are the exact same thing, one is just the T95 with the outer tracks removed for train transport. It was renamed a few times thus the different names
+Silva Dreams That's not at all the case. They have no difference physically. Simply different designations. It was originally designated the 105mm. Gun Motor Carriage, T95 but then redesignated for use by Armored Force as the Super Heavy Tank, T28_
