It is heartbreaking to hear that Vedic injunctions can replace dear Srila Prabhupada.

The fb wars and so many issues since I joined ISKCON in 1992 have been extremely disheartening to me and I hope that there really can be unity in Diversity in ISKCON as any devotee who chooses to keep Srila Prabhupada as their eternal Spiritual master no matter when they have joined ISKCON should not be rejected or ridiculed. At least the Christians know who their eternal master is. Let us all come to this in ISKCON, Srila Prabhupada is our savior in ISKCON. That it is his books (translations and purports) that will be the law books for the next ten thousand years. He is the one we worship every day in ISKCON in Mangal Arati and Guru Puja and throughout our entire day. That we may never forget Srila Prabhupada and we may all develop our eternal relationship with him. Never forget Srila Prabhupada! Everyone in ISKCON should be helping each other come closer to Srila Prabhupada and develop our eternal loving relationship with Srila Prabhupada. Hare Krishna.

Thomas Hopkins made the observation that there is practically a Prabhupada quote to support any view one favors. The idea in this territory is utilizing sastra to determine what instructions or information Prabhupada gave as most essential, and regard those as preferential. The concept that the guru overrides sastric injunctions falls apart when examples exist of Prabhupada aligning with sastric injunctions which are in most cases readily apparent.

To take to an extreme though would be ritvikism. People want the personal interaction

Those who do not accept Srila Prabhupada as the sole authority of ISKCON , his teachings and so forth Sure they can exit ISKCON and make their own movement or centers - have their own disciples This ISKCON belongs to Srila Prabhupada- this Hare Krishna movement is Srila Prabhupada heart and soul - We should guard against any upstart people who live in ISKCON but go against Srila Prabhupada teachings Example krishna west - started.
