To me it looks like CD for "Casval Deikun" but also CA for "Char Aznable" and a stylized Q for "Quattro." I mean you might be right and the designer intended for it to be CD but they ingeniously made it to be interpretable either way of those three lol.
the funny part is the cockpit's scale inside the head unit is out of wack as in it is too small to fit a 1/144 Char Aznable that resulted in people making a mental image that poor Char is crammed into the tiny cockpit like an egg, lol.
Fun fact: the re1/100 was based on the original design which had thicker front skirt arms similar to the o's, and no abdominal cannon and machine gun, while the hguc is based in the manga which added these features and better proportions
There is no reason to buy the RE1/100 anymore, the HGUC is far superior than the RE in every single way. Before the HGUC was announced, the Robot Spirits Nightingale is the definitive ver. But now I'm glad that we have a cheaper alternative. The only problem with this kit is the size...not sure where to put it whenever I pick it up.....
Without considering the price I'd say the Robot Spirits Nightingale is still the definitive version, but taking pricing into play the HGUC is the better choice.
You forgot to mention the SD nightingale ( great kit if you need the nightingale but don't have enough space ) personally I need the hg and re100 versions but I'd have to seriously think about it if bandai made a pg version😭 wouldn't have room
@@fantastiCkiLler92 Did you use the CS frame for your SDCS Nightingale? I heard it's not much difference. But I'm curious if the silhouette booster will add more height to the kit.
The Nightingale's a beautiful kit. Thanks for the review, since I'm still deciding to buy this or not. The torso area looks like a crossover of Armored Core 4 AC's and Ferrari. Seems tempting to paint it chrome or candy apple red.
@@michaeldelcastillo7211 Nightingale is silly and far more impractical than sazabi in my book. Looks very cartoonish and probably looks alright in a manga or illustration but in 3d it just looks silly. Why even the need of limbs when they can barely move under the skirt? The filmsy shoulder armors look more decorative than practical within the logic of the gundam universe. It is like the bad and cartoon design from z and zz x10. The MS design in Hathaway Flash suffer the same problem too.
@@blipblip You can argue practicality and all that, but in the sheer symbolism and presence dept, in my opinion the Nightingale definitely beats the Sazabi. The Nightingale embodies the last gasp and excess of Neo Zeons final push against Earth. Designed without any consideration for in-atmosphere operations, freed from the shackles of gravity, an alien like design that definitely belongs to someone who wishes to destroy the cradle of humanity.
I'm a nightingale fan, owned the RE and the SD but I never imagined that the RE100 would look so outdated when compared side by side with the new HG. The HG's design is just perfect and it feels like it has a bit better parts separation than the RE. The sub-arms feels like an insult to injury here for those who owned the RE one, idk why bandai cannot incorporate 3-4 pieces of plastic in a bigger scale back in the day. I was going to skip this because of the somewhat ridiculous price in my country (on par, or even a tad expensive than the RE one!), but seeing that RG Hi Nu is also released I might grab this later. Would be lovely to see my CCA shelf got filled with all kinds of sazabi, nu, nightingale, and hi nu lol
@@First-Name_Last-Name The other famous MS with crotch beam sabers is The-O, piloted by Newtype seduction specialist Papsmear Circus Wouldn't you know, he's also in Zeta Gundam along with the vegetable with a girl's name and Quattro [CENSORED].
The whole boxart foretelling of future kits was most prominent for the new MG 00 kits. It was too coincidental to not be purposeful. The Kyrios was in the background of the Dynames boxart and the Virtue was in the background of the Kyrios boxart. So people want to see if this trend will continue though the Tieren was also in the Kyrios boxart and we haven't got an announcement for that.
@@genovese667 yes but that doesn't stop them from making a MG of something that has a NG 1/100. The Dynames, Kyrios, and Virtue/Nadleeh have 1/100 before they made their MGs.
@@reijigamer mabye after an eventual mg exia 2.0 they will consider starting making grunts, but a mg tieren nor a flag or enact would share the gn frame, so highly unlikely
This is like magic!! I get to watch this awesome review the same day I get discharged from the hospital!!! Lol yeah I definitely wanna pick this up for my RG Hi Nu.
This is just a very large, massive mobile suit…… I mean, I like it because it’s on the extreme side, unlike your typical RX-78, but at the same time, it also seems very cumbersome. That said, the design grills itself to some very creative painting opportunities as well as panel line scribing. I just can’t imagine it as a very nimble fighter being all bulky like that, probably better off as a sentry or guardian at post or something. Anyway, I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on this !! I have the SD version and that’s been pretty fun to work on.
Was able to get a preorder in with USA Gundam Store for this bad boy, but I figure I'll be waiting a long time regardless since it has ended up on the delay list. Very much looking forward to it. I am also hoping for a Psycho Doga. Much cooler looking suit than the Jagd Doga, so weird they went with that one for the animated continuity.
price is logic for me the rg crossbone come with alot where the rg unicorn comes with the the basic gundam loadout but unicorn cost more bc of the layering of the armor
I just bought this at a comic shop yesterday! My second kit, first being the RE Nightingale hahaha. What can I say I'm a big fan of Char and the nightingale lol
Bought the Jet effect parts in anticipation of this kit and RG Hi-nu. Disappointed that the Funnels won't fit to the effect parts without modding. Still a very impressive centerpiece, though.
Hey Zach, just wondering in terms of disassembling this kit for painting, how would you go about taking the yellow parts out of the thruster bells? I built this when I was first starting and did not account for panting it in the future, am I just stuck with having to mask off the thrusters now?
It looks really cool. I’m a big fan matching suits with their rivals to display, but I worry about a hg with a super detailed rg. If u do one of those tutorials or build videos would love to see how you go about making a hg look good enough to sit next to a rg
I figured the kit would be huge, even if I do want to get it I don’t have any space for it, majority of my model kit collection are the average 1/144 size
My favorite design is that 10cm mini model version of the Nightingale. I just love the chicken-like legs on that one (unpopular in zaku's opinion, i know), makes more sense in my head, u know, a nightingale being a species of bird and stuff.... 🤷🏽♂️ edit: it's probably around 4 cm not 10 cm
@@Gunpla_shrimp no the one that's even smaller, not converge, not mobile suit ensemble, they weren't "deformed" style, came out in a small series of similarly scaled mini-kits and they were colored in a single color that was akin to resin kits. don't remember the name.
Kinda shocked the HG version got functional sub-arms. The Re1/100 version has been sitting in my backlog for a while now but after seeing this I legit feel like I got the "worse" version. It's crazy how much gunpla design/technology can change in just a few years - iirc the Re and HG versions were only released 2 years apart?
Lol. RE came out in 2014. Before the HG came out there was the robot spirit version in 2017/18 which was basically the fancier version of the HG with subtle differences. According to some the size is even tiny bit smaller than the HG and it has those sub arms. It really isn't rocket science it is about how much Bandai cares to put it in there. The PG RX-78-2 is still a amazing kit for how old it is. And RE is always the cheap line without inner frame and full on gimmicks.
While I think it's very awesome, and the number of parts + the "inner frame" makes it look real good, I think it's too much for me. I'm going to get the SDCS instead. Hehehe. Thank you for reviewing this kit.
I want it I NEED it along with the re100 version my SD nightingale demands it😡 update 😁😰 finally got the hg nightingale my biggest problem is after building where I display it
I want to like the Nightingale especially since I like the HI-NU as much as I do, but the Nightingale feels like Qubeley and The O had a a hate baby together and i just cant get behind the thing
Sir Zach, Do you think that there's any chance that the Nightingale will have a RG treatment? Thanks! Watching from the Philippines. More power to your channel. :)
To any who have built this: Can the Nightingale and Sazabi switch guns, tomahawk, beam effects or hands? Is this particular question of mine not gonna be answered?
@@mechalinkergaming7169 I also think they can, but Nightingale's trigger hand looked a bit bent but still fine. I just wish stores here finally get Nightingale
I’ve never been interested in the Nightingale. I don’t like the look. The one thing about the kit which intrigued me are the subarms. I’m a sucker for subarms, and particularly like that they are on a track. I don’t think it’s enough to seduce me into buying it, but maybe eventually.
Although this looks like a nice kit, well thought out. The Nightingale is one of my least favorite. So bulky and stylised. The sinanju and sazabi are more my speed.
The downside is that I can't display this for my "non-Gundam-aware" family members' & friends 'cuz I know they'll be laughing at the size of....Once u see it, you can't unsee it.
There's a simple solution for your problem give them a COMPLETE history of gundam and gunpla then get them to build a rg crossbone 😈👹( then see them laugh 👿) I've a friend who always bemoans my hobby I threaten him with having to build a f91 😂 he shuts up fast
i really dont get the "THERE'S A MS THT DOESNT HAVE A KIT YET ON SO AND SO KIT'S BOXART, SO IT MUST BE GETTING A KIT IN THE NEAR FUTURE" lik by that logic, we woulda had either a HGUC or RE100 Heavygun, Den'an Zon, Dhagis Ibris and Bergas Ghiros by now bc they were on the boxart of the F91 2.0... oh and on a related note, the Jegans on said boxart are technically the wrong ones (i.e. they're using the older 4 missile shields from CCA and such)
