An HH 60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopter with the 129th Rescue Squadron (129 RQS) HH-60 put on a demonstration picking up and dropping off rescuers at Moffett airfield in Mountain View, California.
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the 129th Rescue Wing's mission is to train and prepare to perform its wartime mission of combat search and rescue anywhere in the world. The unit also works closely with the Coast Guard and various civil agencies on state missions. Equipped with HC-130J Combat King II variants of the C-130 Hercules, HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopters, and the Guardian Angel Weapon System (GAWS), the 129th has performed a wide variety of civilian search and rescue missions, including distressed persons aboard ships, lost or injured hikers, and medical evacuations.
The primary mission is to prepare for wartime taskings as specified by applicable gaining commands. The peacetime mission is under the control of the Governor of California. Upon mobilization, primary specified mission is combat search and rescue (CSAR). When directed by the California State Office of Emergency Services (OES) and/or the Department of Defense (DoD), the mission is to provide disaster relief support as required. This includes search and rescue (SAR) assistance to civil authorities, including International Civil Aeronautics Organization (ICAO) signatories, and foreign governments.
Federal Mission (United States Air Force): Train, prepare and conduct worldwide combat search and rescue operations, over land or water, in both hostile and permissive environments. The 129th Rescue Wing also provides Agile Combat Support capabilities to Combatant Commanders.
State Mission (California Air National Guard): Support the Governor's office during state emergencies and contingencies by providing a wide range of capabilities, to include specialized search/rescue and aerial fire-fighting.

Mightier than a brick wall, this is by far my favorite aircraft in the world, the 757 is the close second.

That's so cool.. I tried to join the Marines straight out of highschool but my right hand was broke & they turned me down. I took the asvab test 3 times!! I was so pumped & motivated to make my family proud & to make something of my life.. Sadly was turned down but continue to give mad Respect & love to those men & woman whom have & are currently apart of the military.. I'm 33 now & still would join if i could!!

Should've lied man. Or went to different recruiters. It seems you didn't really try to get in.

a broken hand isn´t a reason to deny you entry into the Marines, I dislocated my thumb a few weeks before boot camp, and I´m not trying to be funny when I say this but I also had a bone spur in my shoulder the ENTIRE TIME I was an active duty Marine (I didn´t know I had it until 20 years later) I just thought I was in pain all the time, but an xray proved it. So unless your hand was life changingly crushed or disfigured somehow, then you should be able to try again after you are healed up

@@replynotificationsdisabled lying to recruiters isn´t a good idea, sure people have done it in the past, but I wouldnt want to be the one standing tall in front of the man because I defrauded the taxpayers of time and money

Didn't have to read the description to know this was 129th at Moffett Field. Missing the old days when the Navy was there they put on a great show saw the F-14 Tomcat for the first and last time.

That fast roping insertion was rather slow. Seems like one of the guys forgot his weapon 😄

Well, he either forgot it or wasnt meant to have one for that demo. Maybe they were out of BFA´s XD

That was probably the CRO, they don't need a weapon the other four guys on his team have him covered. ;)

Hoist operator was a little slow on getting the rescue strop on the ground. The strop should have hit the ground as soon as the pilot was over the LZ. More training...Not sure what the horse kick was all about after the deployment of the fast rope ( probably to get into position over the correct LZ), dangerous to do with a fast rope deployed and took a while to release the fast rope. At least they all got to log hoist, AR, fast rope, rope ladder, day tactical during this demo. Miss being a part of all this.

Man, keeping that hover steady while someone climbs up a ladder must be hard work
@5564EVR
@5564EVR 4 года назад
Not really if the pilot has a good hover reference. The H60 AFCS (Automatic Flight control System) does a pretty good job at helping the pilot hold a hover.

@@Gamerboy-gy1rl It is, I was a flight engineer on the MH/HH60G. Night hovers over the atlantic on NVGs is a real challange. It's like hovering in a black hole.
