HH commissions construction of $600m fertiliser plant

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has launched the construction of United Capital Fertiliser plant.
The 600-million-dollar United Capital Fertiliser plant will help the country stop importation of fertiliser in the next two-years.
President HICHILEMA has committed that government will buy fertiliser from the company so that the business can run smoothly and support the growth of the economy.
He said this when he officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony of United Capital Fertiliser plant on Mungwi Road in Chilanga District.
Speaking at the same event, Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO said once the plant is complete, Zambia will in the next two years be self-sufficient in fertiliser.
