I figured he had some kind of condition that rendered his arm nearly nonfunctional and that he was getting the armstrong arm so he could play guitar and follow his dream of being a rockstar. Either that or he just broke his arm in a goof and figured robot arm would be a shortcut to being good at guitar. Chai was after all rather lazy and prone to looking for the easy way out of things.

It's like straight romance is banned in the western world at the moment. I was shipping Chai and Pepperment and it looked that way until the post credit scenes at the end which came out of the blue. Looks like the hero doesn't get the girl anymore and it's a bit sucky
