Clear explanation...Dr please tell me if it's a type 1 hernia should I go for surgery as I read that if this problem not corrected can cause esophagus cancer

Hi thanks for your great video, I have a question. I had an endoscopy and the doctor found that 80% of my stomach is in my chest cavity. I have continual heartburn and sometimes chest pain. Now he wants to do a barium x-ray. Would that be to see my hernia on the outside? I’m assuming I will need surgery. I have a paraphgeheal hernia. I’m on three prescription medications for heartburn. Thanks
thanks for the video. This is very informative.... How do I know whether my stomach gas problem is due to Hiatal. I have been having gas problem and chronic burping for one year now. I dont feel that I have reflux, I do have pain in the throat due to the acidic gas when I burp. I have seen GI specialist many times, tried stomach and colon scope, blood test and ultrasound, all turns out to be normal, tried PPI, H2 blocker, activated charcoal, gascon, antacid, digestive enzyme and did not work. Stocain tablet gave me some relief but I think it may be becoz it has some anesthetic content in it. I am slightly overweight and middle aged male. The belching pain seems worse when I am on empty stomach and felt better if I take in some food but the cycle keep going. When I touch my stomach, it seems the gas concentrates on my left side of the stomach, burp if i press on it. The GI specialist now said I may be swallowing air and suggest I see a speech therapist..... I am a bit skeptical, do i have Hiatal Hernia? How do I tell my doctor about it? What kind of X-Ray should I take as in your video? I do have muscle spasm/pain problem in the back, will this affect the diaphragm muscle and the stomach? hope you can give me some suggestion and direction....
hey there its unlikely to be a hiatal hernia if all the drugs you used didnt work and the upper gi endoscopy was normal. if the pain subsides when food is ingested then it might just be a duodenal ulcer. the x ray in my video is a barium swallow that can also be a diagnostic tool for the hiatal hernia. i have some other videos on esophageal spasms, maybe you could check them out.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BV74QclLNX0.html
I recently found out that I had a Hiatal Hernia after endoscopy procedure. The doctor said the hernia was 5cm. What would be the best thing for me to do, continue meds or surgery? Thank you
Treating medically is perfectly fine if you aren’t experiencing too many debilitating symptoms. Surgery is an option to consider though, as long standing reflux etc isn’t good for the esophagus.
Hi I have large hiatal hernia And one Doctor says I shouldn’t go to the gym anymore,And other say that i can go to the gym with lighter weights.what do you think of this-Because gym is my life?
I have had 4 nissens, now I am suffering form swallowing difficulty and heartburn again!!, I have to have EGD procedure. If they find something they have to refer me to s GI specialist again.
