Kids never are allowed to play with other kids unsupervised. They never get to learn how to create spontaneous order and negotiation skills to get along with other kids of the same or similar ages. This is a very important skill that is only learned by humans at a very young age and if they don't learn it in their formative years they basically never acquire it. Instead kids today are never without an adult in the room or some older authority figure that imposes an outside order so this skill set of negotiating spontaneous order amongst peers without it being imposed from above never gets learned. In my opinion this is what the young adults lack today and why they are so dysfunctional in society. The sad part is that they will never really learn these skills because they missed that window to learn them when they were young enough to acquire these skills. They will never be self-reliant or be able to form spontaneous order with others without some authority figure from above telling them what to do.

It's more than just being able to think for themselves. They can't get along by themselves peacefully in small to medium groups without a teacher or an authority figure in the room to direct them. We played in the neighborhood and made up our own rules for games and also in what was good and fair conduct and we all worked together to keep order so we didn't devolve into a Lord or the Flies situation when the adults were miles away at work or at home. A few bullies got punched in the eye but we learned to solve most of our problems without getting our parents or some silly school resource officer involved. This is a skill today's young adults totally lack. Without an authority figure to tell them what to do and hold them by the hands they just shut down and turn inside themselves and their phones.

@@svbarryduckworth628 Until the middle of the 20th century, the primary goal of school was learning how to think, not what to think. Now the communists have taken over schools and are teaching that you must think as you are told.
