as a writer, i’m wondering if u have written or your kids are interested in writing genre fantasy sci-if, historical or something else? if not have u written anything spiritual? i think fostering writing is important because i’m passionate about it. i enjoy it so much. great video. thanks

It’s funny you asked. My oldest started writing a book a week or so ago. Im not sure if it’ll continue to completion, but it’s sci-fi fantasy and we are encouraging her. For myself, I wrote poetry many, many years ago, but not much recently. Someday, I’d actually like to write chapter books or children’s stories on our lives and adventures similar to Little House.

I used to like Beatrix Potter stories. I do still have a few in our house for our children (and nostalgia's sake lol) but I must say that I was rather dismayed when I found out that Beatrix Potter loathed children. There are several children's authors who do/did not like children, actually. It's quite sad. I kept a diary for a little while as a young adult and young motherhood, but eventually stopped. I've tried picking it up again over the years but it just doesn't stick. It's one of my goals to figure out how to get back into it, even if it's just a "commonplace book."

What?! No don’t tell me that! Have you listened to the biography on her by History Chicks podcast? It’s funny. I like the idea of a commonplace book too. Nice way to record all of those little things
