@@jimnorthland2903 My mom is a retired librarian, so there you go. On the other hand, my dad was a research chemist! The math/science genes apparently skipped me!
@@joanprofit6301 Oh good grief! I just composed a very long answer to your request. I thought I hit reply but it has disappeared! Aaaack! I'll try re-composing when I get over being annoyed with myself. Sigh.
There's something so sad about seeing what someone left behind when they passed away alone - I really appreciate the kindness you show to his memory! Establishing a bit about his taste and sense of humour, who he was as a person, not just a source of things to be sold.
This gentleman must have had some great stories to tell. I have never even known someone who knew someone who's flown on a Concord. Very cool. The Grumpy Old Men reservation gives me hope that he had lots of good friends around until the end. :)
Wow, almost everything is quite sellable! It appears to be one of the easiest and most profitable estates I've seen, at least in the last 4 or 5 years that I've been following y'all! Congrats.
When a waitstaff at a restaurant or bar like you enough to reserve a table with witty things written on the cards, you know he was kind, funny, and loved by them. My daughter waited tables for many years, and went to funerals when a good friend and customer passed. She invited a 97 year old gentleman to her wedding. He was wonderful. This man might not have had close blood relatives but I know his family included those who served him. Alex you are serving him with the care you’re taking with his items, the things that he enjoyed, and you’re serving the area with donations. You are now part of this man’s family.
I love the way you are so respectful as you go through it all. And very thoughtful as well. This man obviously enjoyed his life and it makes it all worth it.
I am glad that you and Melissa and Jason are finding some things in that condo that you can use for yourselves. More and more I see Jason as an apprentice in the cleanout/resell business as he seems to enjoy helping out on many of the recent projects. It is amazing how many things of value you have found in that relatively small condo.
This isn’t a hoarder house but he sure knew how to rack em’ , stack em’ , and pack em’. I really enjoy seeing the items he chose to surround himself with. Anyone with those ducks 🦆 had a great sense of humor.
@@mavahuth5044 I’m not sure if you were replying to me or your comment just ended up under mine. I did move after 20 years and showed a little of my KonMari decluttering on an old channel called Lizbetstyle. I didn’t have a lot of treasures like this guy though and I didn’t have a time crunch. I also don’t know how to edit so the videos are real time.
You are truly blessed and so deserving. You give and are given, so it should be. I enjoy watching every episode of these clean outs and the rest. Please and thank you, keep sharing with us the adventures you have. I live vicariously through you.
The ducks would look cool in the pool house when it is complete. I truly enjoy watching the care that you take when clearing out the life of the souls who have passed on with such a respectful way. Thankyou for all the you do and for taking us on these journeys, Blessings to you and your family.
The silver cup in the box of pennies is a SOMMELIER WINE TASTING CUP that could be worth over $100 even if it is only silver plate. (Or not any kind of silver)
This man's collectibles and style reminds me so much of my uncle, even down to the sacks of coins, who passed away a decade ago. He never married, even though he dated often when he was younger. I asked him once why he never married (15 year olds are so blunt!) and he said it was because there was so much to see and do that he knew he would never be satisfied with living a "normal" life and he didn't want to subject a woman to his selfish ways. As his only nieces and nephews we were very close to him and he was fun. He never regretted his choices and lived an amazing life. May this man rest in peace, knowing that he had many great experiences and that his collections are giving so much joy to so many others.
Awesome find with all those coins. As a novice coin collector I would be in my glory to come across something like that. So happy to hear Melissa is finding things for the house and just because they are cute items also.
Can not wait for your next video. Anticipation akin to waiting to find out who shot JR. on Dallas. Your videos are truly amazing. Because you give so generously to others, you are rewarded immensely. You and Melissa are so sweet together. I hope you find many more treasures.
Each time I go to an estate sale I think about who the person (s) were that lived there. Where they collected all the wonderful pieces and different clothes. If I was younger than 64 I would love to do entire home purchases like you’re doing. It really fills my nostalgic side and the love of discovering. In the meantime I’m having fun filling my ebay store with some unique and very sellable items.
Sounds like the condo owner was a fascinating, interesting person. Someone you'd love to meet and just sit and listen to stories. Hope they had tons of friends they shared their adventures with. So many pass alone after a life of adventures.
Hi Alex and Family! You are so busy, it’s sometimes difficult to keep track of the sequence of videos for each project. The lawyer’s condo is interesting because I haven’t seen you guys do a condo yet. The vehicles were great. He loved the Miata, you can tell. I think that the items we choose to collect are very telling about the way we view our lives. Kudos for sending the winter clothes to those in need. I was worried about my book collection for a long time, but I am going through it now and I will donate many to libraries and a local thrift store ran by a mentally handicapped organization. They train and help the disabled learn to live and work independently. I’m inspired by your work and your generosity to others. God bless you. ❤Brenda
Well greetings from Ireland I found your channel a few days ago, what a lovely family you are,and donating to the homeless etc.,we are in winter ,so homeless are in need,I used to do a good bit of helping charity help, this year I can not help as I am recovering from 2 bad falls down stairs.
Love your treasure hunts. Use to do the same thing years ago, stopped because got tired of getting involved in family dynamics. Glad to see it's working out for you and your family.
I would hold on to theJimmy Buffet shirt or shirts…he is not doing so well right now I’ve heard. So many cloths! It’s so great you can donate! It’s definitely the right thing to do! Awesome find on the coins! WOW! 🎉😮👍
It's funny, maybe because of the state of the cars, but I knew this was a cool guy. When you first went in the condo I knew you'd make your coin👏👏👏💫🙏🌻💃💃💃 I just live the respect you and your family bring to these clearings. Such a valuable service.
More & more treasures ....nice to hear you're donating to shelters etc...nice chair for Patrick to enjoy while he strums his guitar! .... Looking forward to "Part 4" of this series... ♥ from BC
I’m so excited for you. You so often find unexpected cool stuff and today was great. I so appreciate the thought you take to see what can be donated to the homeless shelters and the Ukrainian families. And your friend Patrick as well. I love watching you and your family and always look forward to your videos.
New subscriber to your channel from London, Ontario. I am enjoying binge watching your videos. Great content, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness in donating to so many wonderful charities.
The one plant closest to the camera is a Christmas Cactus. It is very drought tolerant and it should come back. They bloom in the winter and are beautiful. Good that you could get some of the plants.
Holy coins, Batman! LOL It's fascinating to look into this man's life. It sounds like he had money and used it to enjoy his life. He seems like someone I would love to have known. Thanks for taking us along on your treasure hunts.
It seems like every time you get a house you found a stash of money And stashes of jewelry. You are so lucky having fun watching this one about this house you don’t seem so stressed out and wore out anyway, thanks for the video Enjoying it and I’ll catch you on your next one
Alex, thank you so much for being a real human being and raising good kids with Melissa. I am also a Ukrainian refugee. Not in Canada and not in the dire situation but shattered and lost. I know what it is like to leave behind your entire life, your beloved house, city, friends, packing just one medium-sized suitcase, grabbing the hand of my 3y.o.toddler and spending 9 days on the move before getting semi-settled in a place where at least rf bombs will not kill us in our beds... Horrendous. But Ukrainians are strong. We will not give up. Please vocalize my HUGE thank you for all the support Canada and Canadians give us Ukrainians. Big hug!
I find this fascinating and kind of sad. At the end of the day your stuff really doesn't mean much to most people. Experiences and human connections are much more important. Great video!
I find it fascinating to see how people live. It makes for an interesting video to see you inventory your bulk purchases and get a handle on what you’ve acquired but my ocd is always wanting to help you process your haul in a more organized fashion. 😂
This is a house full of treasures! All of that money and the very nice things you can auction off and use for yourself. I am quite sure you will get a profit on this condo. It is sad the reason for this clean out, but we all meet our maker one day.
Dear Archbold family. 👍👌👏 Congratulations for finding another jackpot in this jackpot Appartement. That's definitely a lot of coins and a lot of silver. I'm happy to see that your whole family is able to use stuff from this old gentleman. He sure knew about good quality. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all of you.
Concorde never really recovered from the Paris crash tragedy in 2000. An Aunt and Uncle of mine flew to Iceland from England on a special trip and my brother and I paid for my Dad and Step-Mother to fly to Paris for their Silver Wedding Anniversary. They all said it was a great experience and all on board were allowed to visit the cockpit one by one too. Although I do remember my Uncle being a bit put out when he was only allowed one bread roll with his meal!
Wow lots of money. U will definitely be making your money back plus some. But u are such a great person to be donating what u can and giving to your friends that you deserve to be rewarded because you don’t expect to be rewarded you just do it because it’s the right thing to do helping others with a smile. Thankyou for donating and helping others that need the help. Your a wonderful family to do so. God bless.and your even finding treasures to keep.
You say you're still sweltering in the heat , the thermostat cannot be that difficult to locate ; you could even ask the manager . That seems a pretty important detail to take care of .
Now that was one nice bag to find! And the whole collection, awesome! I think I'd remove some of the dying cactus, so it's roots have less plant to heal. Cacti/succulents are sturdy though.
It's amazing what you can fit in a Tesla. We borrowed my son's to go to New Mexico last year to clean out my late Mom's house. When I unpacked at home in Ontario I couldn't believe all of the stuff.🇨🇦
