I think that we all have our favorites; I love the Disney content, travel/back road trips and the baseball outings. Not really a fan of the conventions but watch anyway. You are definitely a man of diverse interests, thanks for taking us along!
Adam, I am a native Floridian and I want you to know how much I am enjoying your "hometown" Florida series:) I'm 65 now but I remember driving on vacation going through these towns and seeing Citrus Trees for miles and miles. The towns were bustling with people back in the "olden days"- now not so many Citrus Trees and not so many bustling towns but I remember and want to Thank You for the updates. Your one in a million Adam and you have a knack for knowing what people want and need to see in these times. I wish you all the best life has to offer. Your such a good person.
Your travel vlogs are my favorites! You are the best at finding interesting places to visit. I always look forward to these. I and love historical places.
The small building on the golf course was the Pro Shop. My Grandparents lived there 40 years. My Great Grandparents lived in Babson Park. The Mini Mac was once owned by the Macalisters. There was a Grocery Store and Post Office that was the "heart" of Babson Park.
As a UK resident who visited Florida for vacation every year for over 40 years, I love your videos showing the old small towns and history of earlier Florida. I also enjoyed driving to out of the way non tourist towns and exploring the old buildings. I'm too old to visit the USA (80 years) now due to health reasons. I love viewing your videos, brings back so many wonderful memories of my time in your wonderful State.
I'm 26 and I honestly dream of taking trips like these makes me feel like I'm there when I watch your hidden small town back road videos. Thank you Adam
The bags are to help keep the trees safe from "greening" disease. It is carried by a very small mite. The disease was devastating to most of the citrus trees in Florida. It was so bad that many municipalities were cutting down and burning all citrus, even on private land. I lost a beautiful variegated pink lemon and a tangerine tree to the disease.
I really could watch these videos all day I love them I was thinking about doing this type of video on my channel all around the back roads of great Britain great video 👍🎃
1961 was a good year! The year I was born. Coweta County Georgia.. love your videos of the small towns. We used to be a small town. Not anymore. I miss those days 😪
Super video Adam..one strange thought when you showed that house which was a lab..made me think of the house in the original Spider-Man series from the 60’s where that one armed scientist turned himself into that Lizardman villain.
My son lives in Frostproof. It was awesome to see your tour of the area. We live around 2 hours away so always feel like we are going back in time when drive to go visit him.
Loving these kinds of vlogs from you, Adam! It's great to see around the areas away from all the tourist spots, and see the real Florida 😊 That church is absolutely beautiful!
This trip was to the area I grew up, Babson Park. I used to go to the old hotel. There was a bar, restaurant and several stores. In the 70s, the baseball team, Washington Senators stayed at the hotel
On the clip about the Barrel restaurant...you see the two dogs but if you look again you see a giant dog face in the middle of the whole picture very very faded. It's as big as the whole picture almost but like a faded ghost image. So there are actually 3 dogs. Very cool pic!
Bok towers in Lake Wales is a beautiful place to vist... have taken our children and now our grandchildren... great job on the videos .. really enjoy them thank you.
YES I saw the hanging moss and immediately think of childhood Orlando camping and exploring ‘the woods’ after school. Still in Orlando and still plan to let my son explore the woods, too.
many thanks for sharing your sojourns, as a native st. petersburger, i can safely believe you are helping redefine florida man! (for the better)live long & prosper☯️
I visit a lot of the small towns in NC and love the architecture. The workmanship and the designs from the turn of the century through the 60's facinate me. Wish they'd save more of these historical structures.
🔥A lot of those buildings looked like old Auto Dealerships, and also some mechanics shops, gas stations...probably a thriving automotive area at one time....Lovin’ these backroad videos..👍🏻
Visiting treasure island Florida for the week. We just got back from taking back roads to Okeechobee Florida and going through small towns... hubby and me enjoy visiting back road towns also. Do this at home all the time and vacations . Thank you for your vlogs
Thank you! There really is so much forgotten beauty to see here in Central Florida. Actually, all over Florida, if people would just slow down and take the time to look.
Hi, this is 100% exactly what I have always wanted to do. I would love to visit all the little towns everywhere. You are SO BLESSED to be able to do just that. Man, I wish I could be just like you. Thank you for taking us along. We are living through you.
I've been watch for a long time and love all of your travels... I was a wanderer in my younger days. But I ended up sick back in 03 and disabled by 05. Because of this I can't really travel far from my perch, with your library I get to travel all over... thank you very much.
I love it!! Always like stopping in the "out of the way" places on road trips! What a simpler time & beautiful architecture. Nothing better than finding these hidden treasures! Thanks for sharing!
A lot of those towns dried up with the demise of train travel. As folks took to the highways the interstate bypassed a lot of those small towns. It's good to see that some of that has been preserved.
Another lovely historical trip round the back roads of Florida. I do this myself when I’m in Florida. Great to see something other than the tourist trail.
I love seeing all of the back roads and quirky things you find along the way. Especially in Florida. I have seen some really neat stuff off the beaten path down there. Thanks!
We took back roads to get from Bradenton back to kissimmee last summer...the phosphate mines blew my son's mind and the little towns we found really interesting. So, I really love this video.
Great video! Love these little slices of country that I'd otherwise never, ever get to see. Your road trip and small town videos are my favorites. Thanks Woo!
I enjoy the off the beaten path adventures! Your backroad adventures are always enjoyable! The murals are wonderful. Forgotten towns have a history that I like to research. Thank you!
Wakula Springs in North Florida has a beautiful historic lodge that is open still as well as some great filming locations from creature from the black lagoon
I live not to far lake Wales Florida i live in Winter Haven Florida and my grandma live there and I love her telling us her child hood home and yes the train 🚂 still runs there thank you for showing this i miss my grandma and good old times
Love these kind of your videos. We want more! I’ll never forget my trip to Florida- the small towns between Orlando and Gainesville. Saw our first gators. An egret devour a frog. Came across a photoshoot with a masked guy on a carousel horse - shooting an album cover? A house under a roof. Memorable stuff. Keep it coming
I love your backroads adventures. If your dad was with you he would have a story about something he saw in each town. Even if he had not been there. I just love that. Words from the wise!
My dad moved us to this part of Florida the year Disney opened. We came from north New Jersey so it was a culture shock for me a young teen. He became one of the head administrators for one of the big phosphate mines. I did however learn to love this part of Florida. My dad was actually ask to name a lake on the property owned by US Agrichem so it could be properly put on the map. He named it after my mom and it’s hidden by Fort Meade. I left the area in the late 80’s. Your lovely video brings me back home for sure. Thanks so much for sharing this with all to see. God bless.
I love these out of parks experience. We really like the smaller surrounding towns near Orlando. We've only done a little exploring so this was really fun.
I used to live in Spring Hill Fl population 119,000 people and really did not like it, way too many people. Then I recently moved to Tavares Fl and love it. Population estimated at 18,500 people. The downtown area is very quaint and historic as is the town of Mount Dora. There are plenty of antique shops and also has a lot of history. These town and more are part of central Florida and I believe would be of great interest for up coming videos of "Hidden Small Towns in Central Florida". As you would travel north on SR 441 heading towards Ocala there are a number of towns that might just fit your requirements for hidden small towns. Just a thought for you to capture more of the small hidden town experience of central Florida. Let me know your thoughts on this, okay? Bill
The first building you stopped at in Lake Wales was originally Jim Maggards Auto Service. He was there for 40+ years and currently has 4 warehouses full of classic cars. The murals around Lake Wales were originally painted by Tom Freeman, my High School Guidance Counselor. They were repainted as they aged by various local artists. He currently has a painting hanging in the White House considering he's one of the most famous Nature Artists in America. In Highland Park the building you are looking at was the Pro Shop for the Golf Course. Originally it was called Highland Park Golf Course then was bought and renamed Lekarica. It went out of business about 4-5 years ago. Babson Park and Hillcrest Heights were built on the shores of the largest lake in Polk County...Crooked Lake (or if you are a Native you know it as Lake Caloosa). It's 7 miles long and 4 miles wide with a large island in the center.
