When I lived in Florida, we used to love exploring the small towns in middle Florida. Bok Tower is my very happy place. Cypress Gardens (now Legoland) was our favorite weekend getaway combined with Bok Tower! And the smell of the orange groves with the orange blossoms! Heaven!!
@ Robin Lee My daughter got married in the gazebo at Cypress Gardens in 1994 and held her wedding reception there- wonderful memories ! LoveBok Tower, also!
God blessed you to bless others! And you, my dear sir, have truly blessed me with your daily uploads. Your channel along with a few others have kept me sane and company during some very depressing times. Thank you. This was a great vlog. Loved it.
My Grandparents lived in Lake Wales. I spent every summer there as a kid. I have an uncle that was a chef at Chalet Suzanne. Some great memories of that town. Awesome video
This makes me so happy. In my many trips to Florida I am guilty of only going to the theme parks or beach. Its great to see other areas of Florida. Great architecture. Cheers
According to a news article, the American Legion building in Lake Wales was built in 1948, sold in the mid 1970s, and has been a grocery store, skating rink, Department of Motor Vehicles, etc before the American legion returned and took it over in 2013
Seeing the 1792 hwy sign brings back memories from the 70's when I last lived in my hometown Orlando. No matter where you went if you saw 1792 , 456 I think was Semoran, hwy 50 and other roads you could find your way back home... THUMBS UP.
Adam you are one great tour guide , those old Art Deco buildings are real treasures of the past! I can’t say enough how much I enjoy these side road adventures. Off to get another hot beverage.
I love these small town tours so much! What I wouldn’t give to blink my eyes and see these buildings in their heyday. Those corrugated metal circular buildings are Quonset huts, manufactured in the US and wildly popular during WWII, sold as a kit for quick construction. They seem indestructible. The hotel in Lake Wales is fascinating! Loved this episode, Adam!
Thank you for all the work that you put into making these videos. My wife passed away a couple months ago and your vlogs have helped me get through some pretty dark times. We used to travel some before she got sick. Maybe someday I’ll be able to travel again. Maybe someday I’ll run across you in your travels and get to thank you in person.
I keep expecting to hear the intro be “It’smysecondchnnel, thedailyvlogchannel, it’s the Daily Wooooooooo!” Followed by the crushing of a bottle or cup.
These are some of my favorite videos from you Adam. Really like seeing the random small towns that awesome Florida has to offer. The murals are super cool.
Oh but it's just not the same I also have a house in lex and I live for the cold and the snow but only to escape this heat down here. Once we sell there I'm NEVER going back to va or Florida again. I hate both places. Florida is home it wasn't until vmi until we had to buy in lex to afford tuition. Well that was 20 years ago now. I try to avoid it like the plague and go anywhere but there. Northern va /dc is nice to visit.
@@dabzprincess92 I live in Manassas! Love it around here... and all the little towns. Originally from Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Thankfully we have a warm week ahead!
I just love your videos. Amusements, backroads attractions, historical buildings, monuments, and GATORS! I've been following you (and getting old with you) for years and it's amazing to see how much your content has matured. Thanks Adam.

There is an interesting Wikipedia story on him. I guess it is unlikely that he lived 137 years but he may have lived as long at 105 years. My favorite part of article talks about him being invited to Apollo launch in 1973.
@@terryheady 1973 what a coincidence as it relates to another topic in Adam's video.. 1973 was one of the years they took canned soup from Chalet Suzanne to the moon.. the old abandoned hotel he spoke about earlier in the video..
HEY, HEY, ADAM THE WOO So what are you up to today..and yes I really like these kind of Vidoes where you just cruise around checking out old towns it's so cool and you learn so much about America's roads and places we never get to see except through you and your videos so please keep them coming ADAM and it was so very nice to see you had BIG THE FOOT Along with you for a Big foot ride well take care be safe and God bless
That was so interesting! Love looking at old buildings and signs! You always have a way of taking me away from reality and cheering me up! So thank you!
Oh, Adam!! Thank you so much!! I am from Davenport..I moved away 17 years ago and have been homesick ever since. I've always hoped you'd meander around that area. I went to summer camp at the rec center right behind town hall. My Dad, and brother used to get their hair cut at that tiny old barbershop (can't believe it still exists!!). Thank you, so much for taking me down memory lane!!😊❤😊
Adam, I love it that YOU love vintage architecture and ghost signs, and the unique things from the past that just make life more interesting! As an advocate of preservation, especially on Route 66, I’m especially fond of these particular less traveled roads. Cheers from Old Highway 66 in central Oklahoma!
I turned on TheDailyWoo and was surprised to see my town of Lake Hamilton. I enjoy your videos and I SHALL join you on your adventures sir. Because of your videos, you give me ideas on locations to visit and explore. Thanks again for the positive and great videos. 👍👍
PRIMO VLOG! Vintage ATW bringing us into the past, and the seldom 'scene', as only he can do it. Calm, relaxed, engaged and of course exemplary patient camera work
This was a fun simple old town video. The nice 20s Architecture. I didn’t know about that Hollywood actors Hotel. Pretty cool. Love old films and style. And that oldest man! Holy. 137?! Is that possible. Interesting. Good video Adam.
Thanks for coming back to our hometown Lakeland! The Hungry Howies was a laundry in the 70’s and before that I believe it was a car hop. Southgate the recent movie The One and Only Ivan was also filmed there 2020. Nice tour!
Thank you for sharing local sites ATW! I remember staying at Chalet Suzanne years back. Beautiful and clean; friendly people! On Weedon Island (Pinellas County, FL), there was a movie studio back in the early 1930s called Sun Haven Studios. 3 movies were produced there.
Ooooo I love that town! Those murals are fantastic! We have a Grand Hotel here in Big Timber, Montana . It’s really old but they’ve kept it up really well. It’s beautiful. I love your videos❤️
Glad you’re doing good Adam. Great content and history lessons. Kinda sad how I lived in Central Florida for 22 years but never really stopped and looked around… 😢
Grew up in FL, but never knew my girl and edward scissorhands was filmed here. But i knew the house and plaza as soon as i seen them before you mentioned them, i knew the movies .... I learned something today(12-2-21). Keep up the videos adam, love them bro! Stay safe out on the road.
These are my favorite videos! I love the back roads and nooks and crannies! Especially all the old architecture! The hotel was my favorite! Can you just imagine how fancy it was in it’s heyday?!❤️
Thanks Adam you covered a whole lot of ground and it was quite interesting to see places even though they have gone by the wayside they still had intact there look from back in the day and I’m always fascinated by the look of old retro buildings and signs and just about all things retro and the mall area you went to had an old style look to it which I also loved so I must thank you Adam for a learning experience of things in Florida and what better man than you to teach about the old and forgotten things in life so thanks so much Adam it was fun so with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure wherever it takes you also please be safe out there
I gave this video a big thumbs up. I just wish I could give it two big thumbs up! I really enjoyed learning more about these small towns. I've only heard of them, but never been to them. You'll have to check out Mt. Dora. It's a neat little town. There's even a home that is completely covered with a mural of the famous Starry Night!
Great content! ..I really like those corner buildings and places like "The Point"......Lake Wales, I thought, was a wonderful downtown area when I visited a friend there in the 90's; I agree, the hotel, which was closed then too, has a worthy feeling. Chalet Suzanne; wow, so famous....a friend worked there for a time, until the then chef chased him with a cleaver......I liked Dundee too; that whole citrus area, now reduced, was once so active; train stations, etc.....& near Lake Wales...the highest point in Florida, from what I understand...70 feet above sea level
Enjoyed looking at the old buildings. Some of them remind me of old down town Anaheim with the point and our JCPennys. Stay safe thanks for sharing the memories.
