Maxon goes only after hostile Mutants, so yes, the brotherhood of fallout 4 is leaving peaceful mutants alone, I cannot really blame him either, for his hate towards the third generation synths, as they are dangerous for society as proven again and again in the game, even the peaceful synths, started to kill and replace people, a fact, proven in the DLC. @@1Ashram No they send you to kill Virgil even though he doesnt pose a threat to anyone. Synths are only dangerous if the Institute is controlling and manipulating them, and even then they still have enough personality and free will to escape the Institute with the help of the Railroad. You can't blame them for that since they are treated horribly down there. The Railroad has the right idea about their goals, the Brotherhood could also understand them better if they werent a bunch of genocidal assholes. And the synths in Acadia are peaceful and help people survive by holding back the fog, its only DiMA who is revealed to be a manipulative asshole. And the synth Cog who mindwipes the synth Jule and gives her a new personality is because she was severely brain damaged by an accident and wouldn't have been able to function properly without the reset. Yes it sounds nice, but the super mutants are a threat to everyone in the Commonwealth. Besides a handful of them, majority of the super mutants will shoot you on sight, regardless if you have a weapon out or not, and regardless of what you wear. Besides that, you can see evidence of super mutants eating people. When you kill them, they will have bones in their inventory. Plus, in majority of super mutant base encounters, they have meat bags strung about with bones in them. In some locations, you can see big pots of stew or soup, which no doubt contains humans and other things. Diplomacy is not going to happen, which is why Maxson wants to kill them all, He knows how much of a threat the hostile ones are. The Brotherhood in Fallout 4 doesn’t kill the peaceful ones, until they become a threat. Like with Virgil, they order you to kill him, but you can tell Captain Kells that Virgil cured himself, and then Kells says that Virgil will be monitored to see if he’s a threat or not. In every Brotherhood of Steel run, they have never asked me to go kill him again after that. Also with Strong, the Brotherhood doesn’t kill him when you bring him around. Sure,they are nervous, scared, and say hateful things but who wouldn’t. Every super mutant they’ve encountered has tried to kill them, eat them, and their friends, which is why I imagine they say that hateful stuff for. They never try to kill Strong because he’s not bothering anyone he’s peaceful. Even if Strong has a weapon out they don’t shoot, that’s because Strong has never attacked them. Even in Far Harbor, if the Brotherhood knew about Erickson, I’m sure they wouldn’t attack him, they would just leave him alone, because he’s peaceful, and trades with people. I’m sure settlers and others, would tell the brotherhood that he hasn’t hurt anyone. They would tell the brotherhood he likes talking to people, selling them things, and all that stuff. At the most they might send in someone undercover, or maybe a team to see what’s up, or they might have a scout look after him for a while just to see, and once they realize he’s peaceful and friendly, they won’t bother him. Maybe they’ll even trade with him if they run low on supplies, and can’t get anything for a few days. Even in Fallout 3 when you have Fawkes as a companion, they won’t attack him for the same reasons I’ve said many times. Even more, if you tell Fawkes the code to the purifier and let him turn it on, when you wake up Lyons is grateful for what Fawkes did.

Effectively attempting to ensure the brotherhoods survival despite the war with the NCR. If you look at the ranked Power armour paint, Sentinel carries one diamond, elder carries two, but Masons carries three on the right wrist plate.

He’s a smart man with enough of an open mind to understand a truce with the NCR is a win win for both factions. The NCR can pull resources and men from patrolling the highways because the brotherhood have agreed to handle that task while also being able to perform their own missions and tasks as they see fit. Hardin is too stubborn and it shows with his outright refusal to even consider a truce with the NCR.. Yeah, so McNamara “violated” the chain that binds. He’s human. He’s not perfect. Hardin is more hardline BOS closer to their original mission statement where as McNamara is more willing to adapt and be diplomatic working with former enemies the NCR and respecting other wasteland settlers that are not aggressively hostile to the BOS...it's a tough choice between the 2 but one thing I'm wondering is does the air filtration problem get resolved under Hardin?? Also the thought of leading a team to take back Helios one is something that should be put in the game after the ousting of McNamara.

Well, its descended from how the actual military works because top commanders can't know everything about every unit so it would be really insane for them to directly order unit's to go rogue without the commanding officer knowing just because some higher up whom they do not know at all told them to do something. Also, most orders are sent electronically, not through spoken orders where things can get misinterpreted as you go down the line.

I think they counlda explained it a bit better because I thought the same thing. But likely it's less about "order sally to get you coffee" and more about stuff like what happened in the game with making secret dispatches without consulting the heads. In this case, the hasty action meant that the soldiers were lead to improperly scouted areas because "they were fine 5 years ago when we retreated from HELIOS". Something Hardin woulda caught from the get go. Likewise, sending scouts out to the NCR would look hypocritical to the unpopluar lockdown and he did that in secret just to CYA. You can't know every facet of a society so that's why leaders delegate. going around your delegates means unnecessarily costly actions like this can happen. So I understand the spirit of the rule, just needs more meat to the wording.

Would of been great if the courier could help find brotherhood of steel recruits and expand by taking over the empty vaults around Mojave area and would be hundreds or a few thousand brotherhood of steel members to work with or build a brotherhood of steel city out of big Mt sinse it has technology resources to have a thriving place to live, and use biological AI to grow high yields of crops to feed them and use Mr handy's to help with it, and use the research facilities to help them out , especially the saturnite facility to make weapons like maybe a saturnite marksman rifle with 30 caliber saturnite bullets it would be useful in field, a saturnite LMG to use, body armor, power armor , grenades knives and maybe a saturnite tank with saturnite armor and shells to have armor units in field and use teleportation device to teleport anywhere need to lol

Someone mentioned that I should play New Vegas, and after experiencing it, I can't thoroughly enjoy FO4. It has some good points, but if it's too much like COD and doesn't focus nearly as much on plot

Well if you played Fallout 1, you would know that they help fix wasteland. They hoard technology and knowlegde and then slowly dispence it to communities. That's what happened after Fallout 1 (at least in normal ending). They have partialy right about people using technology to murder themselves, although they're not angels themselves. I think their way is still good. Mojave chapter was severly fucked by NCR. After this they regained a little strenght, but overall they are weakened, forced into small area without any supplies and technology from outside. They're basically fucked if they meet NCR, they're fucked if they meet Legion, and House want fuck everyone which include Brotherhood too, because he want to preserve a old world which will not return nevermind how much he want it.
