The Hifiman Jade 2 is a beautiful looking headphone. It has been the ccenter of a lot of controversy recent in the headphone community. While it has some things I really like about it, I just don't see anywhere where it fits into the market, especially at it's price.

MiniDSP EARS Measurements: Note that the MiniDSP EARS IS NOT an accurate measurement device. Do not take these measurements as infallible, because they are flawed. There are some pieces of the measurements that are caused by flaws in the device itself such as a dip, peak, dip pattern from 4.5K-6K~ and some general imbalanced due to sealing issues.

Sounds like they used thicker transducers than what Stax typically uses. It would explain the difference in speed and timbre.

whats a good starter electrostatic STAX SR-L700 MK2 how would the stax models line up to the jade II ?

@max settings I briefly heard the Jade 2 and experienced none of the volume issues with the stock amp. Sound quality seemed up to par to me, at least in the brief time I had with it. Just wondering if you reviewed the same unit that Josh Valour reviewed, as he had very similar impressions to you. Perhaps it was a sub par unit?

Nope not the same as Josh. I can’t say my opinion of these is out of the normal. I would say it is more positive than most people’s opinion of them I have seen. They really are quite bad.

@@maxsettings7884 wow, that seems harsh to me from what I heard. Sq seems at least on par with the Arya and similarly priced. Considering you're paying around 3.5 k aud for the amp and headphone, it seems about right to me. But each to their own I guess.

He just copied Josh's review for opinions is why. Max isn't exactly skilled at forming opinions on headphones or listening to them and mostly parrots.

I feel like a lot of electrostats lack in macro dynamics at least in comparison to planars/dynamics. But if it has $700 detail then. If you mean compressed sounding in terms of macro dynamics on the Jade II does the Ananda follow the same as per your previous review 🤔

I had these as part of the headfi tour. They lack bass and the sound stage is not that great. The amp that they shop with is really bad. It is bulky without the need for it to he bulky. I did try it with a head-amp blue Hawaii se. With the bh it did sound substantially better. It gained in clarity and bass. I have heard the shangrila jr and sr. To me none of the hifi man electrostats are not worth their asking price. I prefer my focal clear and lcd x over the jade 2. My Abyss AB-1266 phi tc absolutely stomps on these. It should as it is double the price of the jade 2 system. In fact I like the abyss over both shangrilas.
