HIGH ALPINE TROUT FISHING | HOW TO FLY FISH | TROUT IN MOUNTAIN LAKES | SOLO COLORADO BACKCOUNTRY 

This is without a doubt my favorite kind of fly fishing! High alpine lakes and ponds remind me of some of the best times as a child. As much as I like them, so do the trout! The western United States hold literally thousands of lakes that are filled to the brim with fish! Now not all lakes are equal. Some fish much better than others. The one thing I will say, is that the further away from the trail you get, the better the fishing will be! (In my experience) Fish with a dry fly, streamer, or nymph and you are sure to find hungry fish. This is such a visual style of fly fishing which makes it that much more exciting. You will often times have the opportunity to see the fish well before they decide to bite. Don't be afraid of the hike, I promise.. every step will be more than worth it!
