It can be challenging to locate the edge of stairs when visually impaired…the addition of high contrast tape can be helpful…there are many different choices available…this was a very informal experiment to see if certain colors stood out more than others…but ultimately it comes down to a person preference on what color works best for them…if none work other options include a white cane, dog guide, or a human guide.
From my own personal visually impaired perspective I would go with whatever contrasts the most. So those steps are light, go for a dark color. But if the steps were black then maybe go for yellow.
Oh come on you get the point. The white on your T-shirt isn't actually white either, its actually slight grey with a tint of colour. The blue on your jeans actually has some green and orange in it.
very interesting, I'd like to see if you could, record the same stair with the same trips at dusk or dawn, and then under street lamp lights, check if the Bright Orange is still the best option 🤔
Hey, where do you get the simulation glasses? My wife is midway through degeneration with retinitis pigmentosa, I watch your content to prepare for the years ahead and learn more about how I can help her, and I think using a pair of simulators would help me better anticipate her needs.
