Dear mr Kolat can you please tell me what I must do when I shoot for high crotch and the opponent does this technique against me.What must I do in order to not get thrown? One coach toled me to hook his leg with my leg,but most times Its too late for me to hook his leg.Thank you.
@erosensai a cross face sprwal is only good for stopping the take down but this is a freestyle technique that is a counter that gives you points also and there are tons of different things you can do when someone shoots in but this is just on freestyle technique
@erosensai There's also an assumption that the other man has penetrated too deep to easily put the cross face in. This gives us an immediate reaction instead of fighting to get an angle and force it.
Yes you use this to defend a double leg but you will need to sprawl and hip in first to get his arm off your far leg before you step in with the body lock turn.
I was wondering if it was legal to throw with your hands locked also but then again the craddle. It would work in free style without any problem. Coach Cary Kolat, you would have to let the hand lock go after the throw in completed? Then again, get top control. could you please make a video that shows how to get out of the body lock if you are the guy that shot in on the high crotch or double leg and got stuffed?
+Brylin Nims This is freestyle and the throw is 2 or 3 points if he continues to hold on the leg you can possibly do it again or hip in break the lock or peel the hands and go behind. If he hangs on and he can't improve they will call a stalemate and put you back up.
Yes but It's not a good move for folkstyle because no points are awarded for the throw so it is an unnecessary risk. Better to sprawl and defend the leg attack and look for a short drag or front headlock to score with a go behind.
+NicksDominoez Accidents do happen but this move is not dangerous when executed properly. It is possible that your teammate attempted to counter by posting his head and that could be why he was injured.
