I've had all kinds of bikes...BMW, BSA, Norton, and more, and my newly acquired '84 CT110 (1100 miles) and '79 CT90 (1300 miles) are way too much fun, durable and "safer" than the bigger bikes. Great beach, camping bikes. There's a reason these classics have a cult following.

Typically you don't want to use synthetic oil because it can cause the auto clutch to slip or ware fast

Nice job, but it's good to clean a rusty chain with WD-40, but after that it needs a little motor oil because WD-40 is good at dissolving rust and dispelling water it's not designed to be a good lubricant.

I used a non spillable 6v "deer feeder" battery on mine. Smaller, no maintainence, mount in any position and $10. Mine is also Martian Orange, though l named it "Dreamsicle".

Man I love this video! Awesome repairs! Sweet bike 😎 keep up the great work brother. I love your channel. I’d be curious of what kind of deal you got on it and how much all the replacement parts cost. No worries if you want or keep that info private 👍 I shared this video with three of my close friends :)

Great Re-Birth!! My best experience with the Honda was the 305 Super Hawk! Just when I thought I was done, I tried a Capacitor Discharge Ignition model (works with anything with Points) and hotter Plugs. Went with Suzuki 500 twin - damn!! But most Fun was the 1969 Triumph Bonneville! Currently with a '93 FLH-TC, but at my age (+70) I'm thinking seriously of a downgrade to the Fat-Bob Super-Glide. Safe (and Fun) Travels!! Cheers! B.

Just an FYI. I had a 1970 CT 90 and got it brand new when I was 11. A yellow one. The bike would start with a deader than dead battery on the first or second kick.

Hi, after watching your video, I am inspired to get my 1969 Honda CT90 K1 up and running after 35 years of sitting the garage. I have a new battery and 6.2 volts at the points (as wanted zero with points closed) but no spark. Per your video, I have ordered a new coil and a new condenser and a new spark plug. My question is: when you replaced the coil you did not re-attach the old condenser (capacitor) that was sitting on top of and green wire connected to the old coil; but you started it and looks like it runs great. Does the new coil also have a built-in capacitor effect ??? or was the capacitor never needed?
@jiujitsu2000
@jiujitsu2000 Год назад
Good comment and observation...I did connect the capacitor but did that off camera. I'm happy to hear you're getting your ct90 running again!

I bought a new carb online that was supposed to fit the 69, it doesn't have the same diameter throat as the 69 that you have on your video. Also, yours (and mine) has a slight offset, when you mount the new chinese carb on the stock intake manifold it mounts crooked. Have you noticed this?

If you find a barnfind that’s been sitting in it for like 10 years, is it safe to use the remaining gas in the tank to fire it up again? If not, how do you drain it?
@armandsalvini7790

Where do you get the correct carb for that 69. It's different than other years. My carb is so bad I can't bring it back.
