I still game the Srixon Z765 and Z565 irons and think they are outstanding. Both give me that forged feel. That was Srixon6's claim to fame at the time: Mizuno-like feel without the high price. Both have tungsten inserts in the toe in the longer irons 7 thru 4 iron. Not sure if they still do.
Hi Dan, during the winter I was thinking if day once a week you combined one of your yesteryear or recent course vlogs into one episode so it keeps it fresh and dhg viewers can continue to get their course vlog fix. I am currently watching the Sunningdale one
Good review Dan. The Srixon look ok to my eye. The lump on the back, to me it's about a must have for some. The difference between getting the ball in the air and to not. The 7's look better to me and I reckon if they were fitted to you and your swing the drop off for yardages would be minimal or maybe not as emphatic as it was.
They are large blades, but greatly reduced off set. Feel is a bit muted. But holy cow - high, very high, and very very long. It is hard to want to hit a different iron. A smooth 8 iron from 165 towering at 120 ft is not a club I have ever had in my bag.
I had the previous zx4 irons and when the MKll came out I went had a fitting and ordered my set, but for me after a few months I wasn’t sure about them. I wasn’t happy, my feelings were however was that I didn’t want to move away from Srixon, so decided to go for another fitting, but this time for the ZX5’s and wow Eureka moment what a club beautiful, now here’s the kicker, I found them too be a little more forgiving than the ZX4’s.
Currently gaming mizuno jpx 921 forged, can i assume those are a bit in the range off those zx5? Probably i wanna go 4-5 in zx4. I game a mizuno pro flihi 3 iron. When i look at lofts the 4 iron will get maybe a bit to close. Any ideas on that?
I have 4-P original ZX4, which I bought new "on sale" in Canada for a reasonable price. I wanted a GI iron without too much offset and a good S-flex Nippon 950GH NEO. The shaft is solid and nicely weighted for the head.
I recently was fitted with the Srixon 7 M11. It was not my first choice of irons but the math didn't lie on dispersion/distance. I didnt hit the Srixon 4, but i did hit the 5. Quite a bit difference in feel and sound. The 7 was way softer feeling. Nice video.
I wonder about blending these clubs when the models have such different lofts - If you were using ZX4's and ZX7's wouldn't you have to have two 7 irons for example to keep the gapping consistent?
In the long irons for me it wouldn’t be important however lower down you could have them bent. I would start by listing what I would like to use and put the loft against each iron to get a good picture before deciding
@@DanHendriksenGolf that’s fair enough. It’s a shame they don’t supply that. One other thing you could add is to compare them to another brands model for those not familiar with them.
@@DanHendriksenGolf sorry yes. I meant saying the zx 4 is similar to a ping g430 iron ect rather than comparing clubs in the review. Or that the zx5 is like a p790(if it is?)
Great review Dan! Will the ZX4 fit a moderate swing speed player with the stronger lofts? I currently stop at the 6 iron with my Ping G15’s for reference to get higher launch with hybrids.

Interesting review Dan, I don't think I'd swap these for my T300s, I like the white lining in the groves, like anyone thinking about investing in new clubs should go to a qualified Pro and try almost everything avaliable that fits your eye and ability.👍
Have watched your channel from the start & I must say although I understand what you’re trying to do with all the reviews but I’ve no interest in them. It’s a shame you’ve had to move away from what I feel your channel has always been but again I understand it’s a business & you’re trying to grow it. I’ll stay subscribed but reviews I never watch as I can’t justify ever buying brand new clubs so feel they’re a pointless watch for me.
