I have 10 welding certifications, I'm school trained and still couldn't break into the welding industry. it's something I would love to do for the rest of my life and it is very rewarding. my instructor actually wanted to groomed me be a welding inspector, but it's a hard industry to get into...or maybe it's just me.

The best welder know is Kenny Moore, He is a machine and Great fabricator as well. You should get him for a episode lives in Harlingen,Texas He is a Technical College Instructor and funny as hell!

I wonder if Mr. Leno has considered running classes/courses using some of these more esoteric tools, out of his garage? Kind of like when Charlie Trotter would conduct lessons in his restaurant's kitchen, for select clients/students, that is.

I could use this in the kitchen. The welding mask, welding suit, arm protectors, gloves, fire proof fashion apron, and steel toed shoes. My kitchen is same-same but different then Jay's Garage with noise, flames, explosions, talking, screaming and yelling.

it was fine for me, if you have quality set to auto on youtube,if your connection slows up youtube will switch to a lower quality. the cog bottom right of the picture is "settings" go there and select 720p

Sorry folks, that 1/8" (just a guess) TIG weld is NOT as strong as a 1/2" fillet weld.

Sorry Jay, the last place you can learn about welding correctly is some guy who inaccurately describes things. Welding is something that takes hands on practice, and basically all the see, hear, feel senses need to be present to really learn how to weld safely, and be structurally sound. Anyone can melt pieces of metal together but really understand what you are doing takes some time. As far as throwing out all my tungsten cause some dude says to is funny. Yeah its a consumable, but really? I have prob a grand in tungsten, all the various types and sizes for different apps. Oh man I'll just go buy some "lazer" "laser" haha. I hope the average joe gets some education before they take some guys words as the gospel. Either way, Jay, you're my idle in the world of cars.
