Discovered your channel when my old box craped out on me. I was looking for a replacement and your spreadsheet was very helpful. Also, your in-depth reviews are very much appreciated as many of these boxes are lacking in detailed information on the capabilities of these machines. Your review of the Allwin T95 saved me from making a horrible mistake. I canceled that order and purchased X96 plus box instead since it presents with significantly better quality and a good cost to benefit ratio. You got a new subscriber! Keep up the great work!

I can't thank you enough for your list, I've been trying to pick an android box for my brother for several months now, after spending numerous hours each time narrowing down my list to ten boxes, I end up getting overwhelmed by the lack of information and decide to come back the following week. Two-three weeks later, I make another new list, again and again, as I feel lost each time coming back to the selection of saved tabs. To top it off, you have in-depth reviews which cover so much valuable information. I can't say for certain I've found the box I'm getting him yet, but at least now I'm not overwhelmed by a heap of information which was incomprehensible without your hands-on tests.

I hade one of these almost a year ago. I thought I wrote a comment on it before but I guess not. I really liked it because it was fast. But it quite working after a couple of months. If you are going to purchase one of these I highly recommend getting a cooling fan.

I'm just considering Mi Box S just because it has chromecast and google certified. But x96 max+ has really good hardware so which one do you think I should buy?

Great video review,. Apparently this can also dual-boot with latest CoreELEC. Have you tried this in CoreELEC?, and if so, is the A/V quality the same as in Android, like 4K@60 ... ?

Great video , you have influenced me into buying this product nd so far it's working as it should . My only issue is that while I try to crop the screen resolution in MX player or vlc or kodi for the 4k videos from usb , they always are stretched , is it the same for all s903x3 models ?

Yes it can, make sure to copy and paste the sm1_s905x3_4g_1gbit from the device tree folder into the CoreELEc folder before booting or it will not work.

I've downloaded the same atmos demos from Dolby's site and performed that test on my plex (via my roku ultra box) but when I play movies that have dolby atmos, the best I can get is TrueHD 7.1 My question is: Could you run plex on that android box and get dolby atmos by chance or is plex limited to TrueHD 7.1 no matter what? DTSHD, HEVC x265 8/10bit & whatnot, and good emulation like ppsspp, ps1, (wii if possible) and good bluetooth & wifi/ethernet. I'm thinking of either X96 MAX+ or A95X F3. Your video just made me realize I've done something wrong with my setup. We are using the same Sony STR-DH790 receiver. I'm using the RU-vid app on my Samsung Qled 55" Q6FN. When I play Dolby Atmost videos on RU-vid, my receiver never reads Dolby Atmos. It always says PCM. I've changed my receiver sound field from Dolby Surround to Neural-x but still my receiver never displays Dolby Atmos. Would you know how I could fix this? Thank you.

I have a problem with Dolby Vision playback. When I play the Dolby Vision .mp4 or .ts file with own media player or VLC, my Dolby Vision OLED TV doesn't switch Dolby Vision only switch to HDR. What is the solution for this issue?

hi nick how can i fix my LAN connection problem, my box says no Ethernet (LAN) connection in Settings eventhough im already connected. just got mine yesterday. tnx

Just got one & found few problems: 1. RU-vid (mobile version installed from Googleplay) videos would randomly turned squeezed into 4:3 when put into higher res than 720p. And at higher than 1080p the vids would be messed up green & grey & pixelated as if playing corrupted movie files. Uninstalled & reinstalled also delete data/cache from YT, worked for few vids then got back squeezed & messed up again at higher res. However Vanced is fine at any resolution. What to do? 2. USB 3.0 can't read any externals but it can be used for wireless mini keyboard. USB 2 is fine. This is a bit of a bummer since one of the reasons I bought this was to replace my old HK1 Super box which both USB ports started to be unreliable, sometines they recognize externals sometimes not (both ports were fine before). 3. Right now Im turning it off since bluetooth keep searching for my headphones that just lost connection. Earlier I restarted the box, but didnt fix the prob, bt kept on searching. I couldn't seem to turn the bluetooth off; on settings it doesnt have bluetooth settings where I could turn it on & off, it only have "remotes & accessories' that would instantly search devices when clicked. I did find the button to turn the bluetooth on & off via 'more settings' on droid settings but the button didnt really work it wont stay turned off. Also when the pairing works via settings > remotes & accessories, it doesnt show the % of the battery of the devices. Hk1 Super (also on Android 9) does way better at this, never have any problems with bluetooth. Have you encountered these problems & know any solutions? Thx!

i'we just purchased this tv box and i have a problem with it. TV box is connected to my TV via HDMI 1 and i have another receiver from my tv supplier connected on HDMI 2. When i turn off the tv box off and switch the tv to HDMI 2, after a few seconds the tv box powers on. Also if both tv box and tv are turned off and i turn on the tv, the tv box powers on. CEC on HDMI is off from tv box. Does anybody know why?

I had this box 1 1/2 yr's. The 1st day it got really hot and shutoff. I used a computer fan underneath and worked great until recently. It keep's rebooting randomly. And freeze the screen on different apps. I guess I have no choice but to reset it. I'm gonna try the cords 1st before I do.
