Hi Rocketeers! The newly founded Durango Tripoli chapter needed a launch pad now that we're back in the spring and the snows are melting, so I welded up a brand new one and conducted a test flight. / charliegarcia / astro_chuck
Come down and see us at Prefecture 158 Tripoli 4 Corners sometime. Today was the first launch of the season. Conditions are usually perfect and we have a very large recovery area.
Does the tripoli Durango site support hi power launches? If so I may have to drop by and fly some time, I have been flying all my rockets at Hartselle. Durango is a bit closer to Montrose.
Yes! We have pad sites to support up to "M" launches, with the possibility of future "O"s. Waiver is to 16,000ft. We fly the third Saturday of most months.
@@AstroCharlie so the 16th then? I may put that in my calender then. How do I find instructions to the site? Looking for information I can't find it posted.
The forward closure on a batch of motors made by CTI in 2016 was made from a plastic with an incorrect additive. This motor has been hanging around in my launch box long enough that it was from that batch. I checked it, but either did a poor job or it was some different problem. The top of the motor burned through in about a second and fire came out of the top and the bottom of the rocket.
Lol this is hilarious, we let the 12 year old be the “chief engineer” haha but he blows up his own hobbyist projects. Here is a clue, the real chief engineers from all the major space companies are not making RU-vid videos because they know better then to risk accidentally exposing IP. They are not dumb enough to do this. Stop pretending like you are some big shot when you may have had enough cash and book smarts to go to school but your still a child with no experience and can’t even get your back had projects off the ground. People that actually work in this industry can easily spot the fact that you don’t understand this business although you may understand the science
