Hark! The Herald, Guardians sing! Make hammer fall and sabre ring! No Crimson Star, no Baneful Child Shall 'ere our Matrices beguile! Come Aerosians, low and high Stand in hope of Clearer Skies Arm in arm for all of time Follow we, our Sentinel Prime! Arm in arm for all of time Follow we, our Sentinel Prime!
Lord Voracitor: "You are a coward! You hide behind minions!" Didn't this guy just send an actual Jet aircraft and a giant robot at the party? As well as previously sending a trio of assassins and a group including 2 large robots and his second in command?
Considering Breeze lived his life traveling alone beforehand, he probably wouldn't understand what it means to have allies to fight alongside you, which is why he failed.
Lucius is having a complete mental break and last time was literally told by Nova to just bottle it up but still gives sentry a nod and words of confidence mid fight. He's the best boi
The best thing from this episode was Mark's honest DM talk starting at 15:15. Love the straight talk and the communication. The game is about fun first, rules second. Love the channel everyone! You all rock!
'We were miners, drillers, diggers' It took me a second to realize. Kamina and Simone. Kamina with his ridiculously long katana from that one episode, and Simon the digger with a swirling patterned lance. WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE!?!
already listened to the podcast, just leaving a comment to feed the algorithm. also this episode was fantastic, really feels like the war has begun now. also who would have thought that quills lust for treasure would pay off.
Honestly, a real episode full of 100% class, comedy and awesomeness!! I jumped from my seat at those victories and cheered along with you, and felt really seen with some of those Lucius scenes, acknowledging his troubles. Love you High Rollers ❤️❤️❤️ Clear skies ❤️❤️❤️
I'm glad everyone feels comfortable risking efficiency for the role play moments in spite, no because of the high stakes, Quill being too startled to tell everyone about the horde, Lucius deciding to struggle with everything going wrong and him feeling responsible for it Sentry getting visibly excited at her sword getting taken out of her hand, Love that Mark is just here for the cool moments and was like way too excited about Breeze jamming the cannon into Sentry lol, great plays for the sake of making a story together with everyone
1:18:30 when Mark asked how breeze missed sentry with that shot I envisioned the matrix glowing and projecting an energy shield while root spoke through space/time saying his decision for sentry to be the new prime is not flawed and breezes corruption saddens him or makes him unworthy of holding a guardian spirit or something.
Oh my god you guys this one gave me all the feels. Every episode tops the last one in a way that should be impossible. I actually started crying when the Gusthaven ships came to help. This is too epic
I'm sure you guys will probably never see this, but I am slowly catching up on your Aerios playthrough and I have loved every minute of it! I go through a lot of rough times in my life, but seeing the story you guys have created never ceases to bring a smile to my face. Through the good times and the bad this story, this journey, this family that you have created is simply beautiful. I look forward to catching up on many more episodes and will hopefully catch you guys live one day. Clear skies
There we were. The smoke and fog hung heavy in the woods. New weapons were given to us from the emperor and we were using them to cleanse the ruins of Carmina city of the rebel forces. We were winning for a time. The rebels were putting up a pathetic defense of the city and had resorted to stalling tactics. Then a sky city showed up. They don't usually deviate from their set courses and move on their own but, the aeronautical forces were handling it so, I wasn't too worried. The mission wasn't too bad . The rear would fire there newly issued magitech artillery, effectively walking their fire ever closer to the heart of the city. We would follow, conducting "clean up". But then, there was the light. I could see it. A pulse of light ememinating from some tower in the city-center. The artillery stopped firing and I knew they saw it too. I hadn't seen any in-tact enemy forces for half an hour or so. But then it all went south. I could hear what sounded like a cross between a battle cry and a cheer, coming from the smoke filled woods in front of me. The noise grew louder and louder until I could finally see it. It was horrifying. There were hundreds of them. Charging through the smoke and fog en mass, nearly a thousand zombie robots armed with logs, debris and long dagger-like shards of glass. It was then that I realized that while I may have not picked the wrong side but, I may have gone about supporting it in the wrong way.
Every time I think I’ve seen the best episode, one like this pops up and blows it out of the water! The combat, the RP, everything was so good! Can’t wait to catch up so I can watch live, only ~150 hours to go 😅
This episode is just fucking perfect because of how it had, in this order : 1. Epic fucking battles with a giant colossus and Lord Mega- I mean Voracitor 2. Really nice emotional scenes with Herald's death (rest well in the matrix you beautiful bastard) and the fucking recreation of the Guardian race 3. Nice lil rest that had some funny moments and cool lore, and treasure
Not so controversial opinion: I think this is a better campaign than Critical Role. All love to those guys, but this feels properly epic for high-level D&D.
It's a different type of a campaign - but they're equally amazing. If you like HR check out Nights of Eveningstar which is also DM'd by Mark with an awesome cast
I love them both for different reasons. HR feels more like playing with friends, and some of the more emotional moments in Aerois feel more genuine and spontaneous.
I watched the first 20 minutes back in August before a bunch of work and family stuff needed attention.... Roughly 3 months later and I finally come back to finish the episode and this is what I'm rewarded with. #allthefeels after months being away.
Wow. I just binge watched every episode for aerois JUST IN TIME for them to take a break. But wowee well deserved after that incredible arc. Thank you all for so much wonderful content!
(beware spoilers in my comment) This was a Fantastic episode! It had everything! Several dynamic waves of combat, objectives within the encounter that everyone could interact with e.g. conduit/ lens/hold back the feral guardians/ a DUEL... There was dramatic sacrifice, so much character payoff, a sick lance (was that all improv? So impressed!!), reunion with the stormchaser +crew, the events in the city of glass rippling out into the wider conflict with Starbane...the restored guardians serving as a highly trained force to drive back the Giselan forces...level up? And the music absolutely fucking rocks. So good!! I am so thoroughly impressed every week, and I honestly can't believe how underrated this campaign is. I love many many dnd streams but Aerois is the one that is really doing it for me at the moment. Epic levels done right!
@@peng_ting1331 Yeah he did originally plan for them to go to the continent with the city of glass after getting to Goldthrone, but then they got teleported by starbane.
The princess of the fuckin feywilds had me actually rolling 😂 this episode has got to be one of the best; the rp, the combat, the feels 😭 so much great was from all of the team! 🖤
Such a FanTASTIC episode! Beautiful moments, Epic moments and so much more. Many laughs were had and I am so excited to see where the gang will go next - Thank You High Rollers!
I MEAN...what was this episode you might ask?! Well it is one of thee BEST DnD episodes EVER created. This should break the internet. Well done HR, just bloody well done.
For a great many episodes I kept forgetting Herald's name, thinking it was Harold, then forgetting that name too and in my head Herald kept being remembered as Harvey or something like that.
Spoilers under the cut! Dude Sentry’s duel was sick, I love how it turned into a straight up brawl so quickly Also idk why but the Gusthaven reinforcements and the Stormchaser arriving was hype as fuck
"DIE...DIIIE" Did Mark watch the original transformers movie before planning this encounter XD he has so many of the references like down pat, he must-have for a refresher, I fuckin love it
Damn boiks was just trying to go on a peaceful train journey but had just about every emotion go through me. Must have looked like a freak to anyone watching especially the tears into laughter.
with 3.5 dnd or pathfinder 1, the spell gauntlet thing wouldn't have been an issue due to the difference between spells and spell-like abilities. the magitek stuff could have easily been defined as spell-like abilities, which if the gauntlet could affect those, would be wonderfully overpowered
FUKING YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2:35:25 Kamina and Simon. Gurren Lagann reference THANK YOU!!!!!! It is now official. You have referenced my all TIME FAVORITE ANIME!!! Mark. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. You just made my dream, (which I did not know existed), come true. Truly thank you.
Mark’s literally based the guardians on like, the geth and autobots, it was _very_ much supposed to be a transformers fight… he also kept sneaking in “one shall fall” in a whole lot, if you need further proof
Sentinel Prime used a potion. Lord Varasator used Vice Grip (Immortal vs Ominman 2 style) It’s not very effective! Sentinel Prime used Fire Punch It’s super effective! Lord Varasator has fainted! Sentinel Prime gains 2021 exp. Sentinel Prime has leveled up to LVL 16! Sentinel Prime has learned a new feat. Alert! Awesome new weapon for Sentry! Mark described its design as not requiring a mount like her peryton and may be able to use one-handed but it does still have the special property that when she attacks an enemy within 5ft she’ll have disadvantage and with 10ft reach no disadvantage, BUT her shield master will let her shove but she has to take attack action first but hope Mark is alright to let Sentry do bonus action shove with a shield before attacking but we’ll see next episode when it’s in action on what the confirmed stats are. Sentry will have much potential to do a greater amount of DMG than Aila when applying those divine smites with the extra haste action from the lance when activated only ONCE though and not only from the +3 damage bonus which is now +7 per attack but now her base DMG is 1d12 piercing+1d4 force and +1d8 radiant from her improved divine smite paladin feature+that 7 DMG bonus, so lots of dice to roll from her DMG without using spell slots for her divine smites, so excited to see it in action.
I think that Improved divine smite gets forgotten about a lot for Sentry. She used a lvl 3 divine smite but only counted 5d8 +2d4 damage. It should be: 1d8 slashing for longsword, 4d8 radiant for lvl 3 divine smite, 1d8 radiant for improved divine smite, 1d4 for Her Majesty’s Rose effect, and 1d4 for Enlarge. So 6d8+2d4. It’s a little thing but I always catch it and I get sad.
Every great DM has a go-to phrase: Jacob Buddz: *rap-gods through patreon supporters* Monty Glu- *insert obscenely good food description here* Matt Mercer- its Toothy Maw AND Hdywtdt Mark Hulmes- You(r/'re) Pathetic *insert whatever the villain is addressing here*
One year later I come back to this point in to the campaign Leveling up to 16 is one step closer to the void to fight it Yet somehow this magical ride is still going best of luck D
i listened to the first half of the podcast so many times before the second part was released this week. this episode just took the cake! Lucius had his big moment! Sentry fixes so many guardians!! Quill gets what he wants and go treasure hunting briefly!!! AMAZING!!! It feels like such a turning point, so many epic scenes, and I am loving the character so so much
I hope they store Harold's body to out her back into it a hundred years from now so sentry gets her friend back since the rest will be dead or near dead by then.
Aaaaa rhi isn't adding her strength damage bonus to her melee attacks against breeze 😅. Should be alot more dmg! Also missing an extra d8 each attack too, has improved divine smite 😵.
Just spent the last 3.5 months watching all episodes of Aerois start to finish. I'm fully invested in this world now. I can't wait to see what happens from here. Love from Aus.
Not saying rhiannon did it wrong, but it would have been so badass if sentry flame lanced voracitor and then just stood there in a Solwynn solute as he's babbling his final words about hadar.
Love how Mark basically handed them the answer to the lens problem. Literally mentioned "if there was a spell to like summon a magical weapon in the shape of a shield or something like a lens, that might work." Tom...Spiritual Weapon. 🤦
I started playing ff14 like two days before y'all mentioned it in stream and I thought you were spying through time and I had to wonder how powerful Hespar's Eye is. Can it break the fourth wall?
I finally have time to watch this episode and wow this was incredible, just incredible. Spoilers*** Herald's sacrifice actually got me. I really liked her. I thought she was so interesting and I wanted to see her more but I think this was a beautiful end to her story. Now she can rest. That moment was so beautiful.
Q: How come Sentry doesn’t add an ability modifier to their attacks? Should third level divine smite not be 5d8 + 2d4 + ability modifier? Much love to this campaign, came back to it as now have some time to continue after starting a couple of years ago. It has been an epic ride so far!
Actually it should've been 6d8 + 2d4 + asm, i not sure if she adds mod or not, but i always notice that she forgets about improved divine smite{sadface}
Optimus prime versus Megatron is all I'm saying one shall stand one shall fall excellent vibes from the sentry versus breeze I don't know what else I can say but transformers all the way
