I actually had a friend who had to do that in one of our campaigns. His character was extremely depressed and apathetic, and had to "roll to care" when going into initiatives to see if he even bothered doing anything lmao, it was great

General charisma check, the lower the result the less empathy you feel. That's how I would do it. If you're trying to hide your emotions to APPEAR apathetic, however, that'd be performance.

I know people say that combat is the least fun/interesting part of DnD but I REALLY enjoyed the combat this episode! It felt really dramatic and tense, and I feel like it had plenty of RP in it.

@@grandmastercultistofben Some people maybe. But as the OP pointed out it becomes an RP/storytellers nightmare when you make the mistake of letting that aspect drop. Some people assume that is how you do it and it can make combat much more bland. Not to mention the time sink. Combat happens really quickly with the 6 second turns/rounds but often takes the most time IRL.

wow wasn't expecting bunny girl to be anything more than exhausted after what happened in combat, but ok mark you take her from 0 to 60... so surprised nova didn't go "well i could use some snuggling after how my day went, but that's as far as it goes" love melf's acid arrow, it's my second favorite to ice knife, due to it's ability to cuase damage even on a miss. found it surprising quilk didn't end up using word of radiance this episode, guess tom has a new favorite cantrip?

LightningwingDragon I’d recommend Fantasy High on college humour The first 8 episodes are free on their RU-vid channel but the next 9 episodes you have to get their monthly service called Dropout It’s pretty cheap but you can just get the week long free trial and then binge it and then cancel it. But they have other good shows and Matt Mercer appears on a few episodes of Um, Actually so maybe you’ll like it

So presumably, the Eterna are the source of Starbane's power, and the (main) plot of the campaign will be the party stopping the remnant from gathering all of the Eterna otherwise Starbane will break through the cradle.

i would hazard a guess at vala either being a descendant or reincarnated from siasca, or in some other way has the power to restore the aeterna (possibly linked to aetherium?) , and that in restoring a fragment of tian'gong with valas power, the remenant will use/abuse the power of the restored, but will-broken tian'gong to destroy the cradle and allow for the return of starbane, or that vala can simply absorb the power of the eterna and they want to make a bomb of her...

There's a big universe out there... I'm sure the party (Iron Sloths? Maybe someday) will find it in their best interests to try and stop the remnant from destroying the cradle... but maybe they won't be able to. Just a theory, would be interesting to see the Aerois campaign, go Beyond Aerois.

I think goad is perhaps to strong a word. He certainly suggested it though. I just wish he hadn't mocked him for it after the fact. Even in jest I thought it in poor taste.

@@MartinCancholaJr To be fair, it was a collective goading by the group to melee attack, Mark has a habit of his NPCs turning on whoever attacked last turn if they're in range, and Mark allowed Galen to roll death saves (albeit rapid fire ones), which all failed. It was a fair death. Although he died and there was a bit of teasing, I think it was in good faith and Tom didn't really comment on the OOC teasing (although he was horrified that the character got killed)

I noticed that whenever Quill does anything the NPC's all decided he's the biggest threat and target him, but when another person does a lot of damage the NPC's rarely are that concerned. Even when Quill is unconscious in a previous episode the giant shadow dude targeted him and took out his eye

That's more on the PCs for not using any tactics. The enemies are just using basic tactics to take out a healer. Why is Quill using spells that pull enemies closer to him? Why is Quill in a position to get smacked all the time?

Katie mentioned on twitter that she's been having a rough time with personal stuff recently so her absences were either because she wasn't feeling up to being on a livestream or because she'd gone to Scotland to spend time with her friends and family back home. I don't think she's leaving High Rollers, she's just struggling rn and needs some extra love and support sending her way

D&D Beyond doesn't have a function for me to retain ownership of my creations or make money from them (which I need to, because this is my full-time gig now and I got bills to pay son!) - I usually post everything up on my Patreon and DMs Guild when it's finished, so welcome to check that out!
