I love the imagery of the two cannon asasults in this episode. You have Lucius and Azaria doing this magical artillery barrage while Aila and Max hold off cultists 300-style Vs. Sentry at the front of the guardian army crashing into hadarspawn, with Quill flying overhead, Rethra with axes winging, Scout sniping away, and the assault sappers lighting it up. those gotta be some of my favorite scenes this episode
This is an absolutely incredible episode! These point crawl mechanics have got to make a return - really refreshing to get some fast paced conflict happening over a large scale and each of the skill challenges and POIs felt interesting and engaging. I love how it felt like 90 percent homebrew with 5e just being used for creative spell and ability use and combat encounters. And lots of great roleplay and story moments without being bogged down in continuous "real time" stort telling. Also also, big yes on the npc sheets for the players to use for both abilities and combat - really made the encounters fast with less stuff for mark to have to bookeep and run. 10/10 episode, one of the very best in a long running high rollers.
What an amazing episode! The way Mark describes everything creates such a strong image in my head as if I’m just watching a movie. Good luck Stormchasers. You’re gonna need it!
@@thefracturedbutwhole5475nothing in particular. I just like the idea of Tom leaning into his loot box hungry tendencies. I think it could be entertaining
@@derschwartzadderlooking back at some things I’m starting to see your point. 20k gold in the greenhorn crypt, wanting to sell the sequester scroll for 8k gold. Other thing that I’m probably forgetting.
3:19:13 *Spoilers* PEOPLE ARE DYING AND THEYRE HAVING A PICNIC 💀💀PLEASE Plus they’re strong enough to kill off Hedar spawn but just lost track of time trying to grow flowers. I love them
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode! Fantastic game mechanics and balancing a stressful situation with a fairly relaxed combat situation. Solid tactical decisions from the party as well. Amazing watch
Such a great epic space-fantasy this campaign has been. I have learned so much from watching Mark and the gang. One of my favorites stories being told here. Will be sad when it ends but it's well deserved to end in epic fashion. A few more episodes left. Hopefully Campaign 3 is not far behind and is just as epic.
I am a podcast listener but always come to the videos to watch the silly intros and check out the maps. Another epic episode - got serious Palaven vibes from Mass Effect 3
I'm behind and remember when the dice were announced, I've been trying to get to the store. Thought maybe I had the wrong url. Confirmed the store was deleted. 😭😭😭
I've watched the last 10 eps on 1.5 speed trying to catch up before the last ep drops on YT (I've failed). Good to hear that this is sanctioned by the HR team though.
We inch ever closer to this campaign having run for five years, I feel like it's going to be over before next month but imagine if the last episode is exactly 5 years after the first.
I joined your story at the beginning of the Covid. I joined late, but I’ve followed every step of the way since. I’ve fallen in love with every PC, every NPC. I love Mark, I love the Cast. No matter how it ends, it’s been a journey. Every hour I’ve spent watching has not been wasted. Mark, sweetheart. You are amazing. The gang, you’re wonderful. I’m so proud, the background crew, you’re as loved as family. You should ALL be so proud of yourself. Honestly. I love you all. Except quill. You nerd.
In alternate time line. Quil: "wow look at all those chests" Woosh Sentry: "wait quil they could be a trap" Quil, Nat 20 perception. "I see nothing suspicious in the grains of sand on the ground or wood of the chests" Quil begins cracking open a chest. Creak. Then a maw appears and takes a bite at him. Mark: Initiative please, for you're under attack by a mimic hoard.
You know tbh if one of the npcs had to die I wouldn’t mind if it was Max. Especially, at the end there with that sneak stabbing the goddess. Like he looks at the guard and goes “wait you don’t look like one of my friends from the emperor’s personal guard who are you sold-“ and he gets stabbed. Being the first to attempt to slow her down in the first Valla abduction and the last person she’d expected to see through her disguise.
Okay hear me out I'm well aware it doesn't make sense exactly. But !! What if the Hadar world in Highrollers, is the moon in Critical Role and they exist in the dnd-verse together??
