@@dwrash21 Now I'm imagining a little Ghost Smeek floating around Sentry throughout all of their adventures, Volcanos, The City of Glass, Everything With Grazzt, The Astral Wyrm, Opeing H'esper's Temple, The Trials, The Storm Dragon, all of it, the whole time just pointing and shouting on the Ethereal Plane.

I think one of my favorite things is watching the little interactions they have besides the game. Like Mark's little smile when the keystone doors issue is going as he planned or Rhi (or Trott) and Tom making each other laugh and trying to hold it in
Pretty much the reason I've confined my actual play consumption to things with video content. Nothing wrong with voice only but I'd hate to miss out on the expressions and reactions.
you guys are great and I've watched all of Aerois in a few months and I love this series. You guys have inspired me to start my own campaign with a few friends and I am so excited and nervous at the same time.
Thank you all musicians for the music you’ve created for Aerois, it’s nice to find always a new theme and spend some moments immersing in the fantasy atmosphere ❤
Brilliant episode! Missed the stream but caught the podcast. Loved the stealth take-downs. Sentry and Aila absolutely destroying the goons during the fight was awesome. Really all the players had some great moments. The art looks great and I'm pumped for episode 100!
How did Trott only get that at the end!? I got it and I've never even played Metal Gear! 😂 But great episode altogether, I actually liked the fact that Mark was a little softer (?) on the stealth mechanics than normal and had the grunts with low enough HP that they could be taken out in one move, it lead to a really tense situation that escalated the longer they went on without being detected. This is what the Brightflame Abby should have been. Awesome job!
Get the rifles and bombs so the storm chaser is locked and loaded. Like just imagine Nova making a gate way and throwing like 5 bombs through to nuke a big boss, or revenge on lion turtle...
Can we talk about that epic Elenasto [not sure if that's spelt right] sibling moment of "unfortunately my sister isn't as nice" and then Moonstar just obliterating the asshole taunting them????
To be honest I still have no idea why they didn't inform the sky prince and get a lot of soldiers to go with them, would have made storming the place a lot easier and safer
I think they couldn't just run into it without actual proof. They can't really send royal soldiers after a hunch no matter how much the Sky Prince trusts the gang.
Minor rules note, not that it matters... Darkness and faerie fire don't work together. First, darkness dispels any area of light created by a spell of 2nd level or lower. You can argue faerie fire isn't an area of light, though it does create light around the affected creatures. From what I can see online it seems generally agreed that faerie fire would get dispelled. Either way, faerie fire only grants advantage if you can see the creature. So even if it's not dispelled the darkness prevents you from seeing them until they come out of it, so no advantage granted. But whatever, the rules can get finicky around stuff like this so it can be hard to catch unless you really pay attention to every word. Edit: Reminder for Rhi, you have Improved Divine Smite so you get an extra d8 on every attack, even if you don't smite.
As correct as that may be, them being inside darkness and unable to see would actually have the exact same effect as they ended up having, especially since the guards could see through the magical darkness When a creature is attacking a target that can't see them, they have advantage on the attack, which would've had the exact same effect as Faerie Fire, and regardless, the party got out of that situation, arguably incredibly easily without much of any inconvenience, and certainly no inconvenience from the Faerie Fire, so it's all good.
@@Pancakeli True, but it also means Quill dispels the darkness instead of the faerie fire. Some damage and some minor problems would have been avoided, leaving them in a better position for whatever's next. Also this ain't over yet, so it could come up again.
@@asherandai1000 There's a bit of minor spoilers ahead for the next episode, just some mechanical jargon without any context. Maybe the darkness increased damage, but the thing is advantage is finicky and random, there's no real way to know if it actually helped increase damage or not. Say it did and every single shot that landed while a guard had advantage from darkness only hit because of advantage, all of that damage and more has been healed since then. If the darkness was going to let that one guard escape, he would have, maybe the darkness even helped him get caught up to because Aila wouldn't have backed out of the room. With some new cleric features, Quill can just get his 3rd level spell slot back with a channel divinity, but 13th level spellcasters have so many spell slots that 1 3rd level slot barely matters anyways. We can talk about possibilities and whatnot all day, but that doesn't change the fact that the players and dm are all enjoying themselves. Unintentionally and accidentally bending a rule we're not even 100% sure has been bent is no reason to be so, "oh this thing's gonna maybe screw them over" because literally everything is pointing to it not doing that. The most important thing is that everybody taking part isn't being caused any grief and is having fun telling a story, this Faerie Fire/Darkness thing is such a complete non-issue that I'm surprised I'm taking so much time to show how much of a complete non-issue it is. I agree that the rules should be taken into account a little more, but the people matter more, and it's incredibly clear that the folks are all enjoying themselves. Hopefully it gets dealt with correctly next time, but if not, that's okay, it's just a game.
@@Pancakeli I totally agree that their enjoyment takes precedent over the rules. That said Mark has previously shown appreciation for clarification on certain rules. Assuming he read my comment it's up to him if he want's to take into account or ignore it. I really don't care, they can abandon the rules altogether and it wouldn't matter. I'm just offering advice/aid. All the people like you complaining and pointing out the obvious are doing is being pretentious and annoying.
@@asherandai1000 You mean the faerie fire that he himself cast? Seriously even had it worked in the interaction Mark allowed he could have just ended Concentration and Dispelled the Darkness regardless. Misunderstanding just cost him two entire turns lol.
For reference, stunned creatures do retain concentration. Stunned says you are "incapacitated" (no action or reaction) and you fail strength and dex saves. Concentration is a con save.
If only they invested in a teleporting chest to put all these rifles in to give to the crew that literally requested them , if only they had bought that chest...........Quill should have pushed harder for it
Not trying to be a Monday morning rules lawyer, I'm more just curious, but wouldn't Faerie Fire be dispelled automatically unless it was cast at 3rd level. Darkness states any light effect cast into magical darkness at 2nd level or lower is dispelled
Yep. And because darkness blinds the target and the person trying to attack the target, darkness apples disadvantage and advantage already. Advantage and disadvantage cancel each other and don't stack. So the best use of spells like darkness or fogcloud is to cancel out existing advantage or disadvantage. Unless you have something like blind sight, true sight, or devil’s sight, in which case you can give yourself advantage and everyone else disadvantage. That being said, I believe Mark house rules that darkness only causes disadvantage. Meaning Faerie Fire would be worth casting in darkness, if it worked. It was probably just a mistake but he can always post rule it as having been cast at 3’d level.
It wouldn't be dispelled I believe because it is a magical source of light, but you still wouldn't see it. It would basically be suppressed until they leave the darkness or until the spells time ran out.
Didn't Quill cast the Faerie Fire? I mean seriously wasting a spell slot and a turn doing something that he can just elect to stop concentrating on was a real brain fart. And the wording states, as the OP posted, dispelled. You can't dispel non-magical sources of light since they aren't spells. 😂
30:35 Qillek: "I can fly over there" Lucius: "Your fluttering might make a noise.." Qillek: "Maybe, uh.." Me: Unless he's actually an owlakocra! I'll see myself out.
I feel like invisibility with falling snow shouldn't work cuz there will still just be an empty shape of where the person is, so you would still be able to clearly see where they are, cuz the snow wouldn't go through them.
I think because of things like that invisible creatures have such crap bonuses like only advantage on attacks and are apparently just heavily obscured and not even advantage on stealth I think? Imo invisibility should be much stronger but because of environmental things like what you point out and noise still being a thing it's what it is in the game. Even with advantage on stealth I think it should be even stronger
I mean depending on how hard it’s snowing, your only problem would be footsteps and trails in the snow. If it’s snowing heavily there will still be snow falling in front of you/behind you me thinks. I get what you’re saying though maybe the snow piling up on your clothes would be a give away?
According to the rules of Darkness it would indeed. Not that the spell would have any appreciable effect in darkness anyway. Fairie Fire however is an Area of Effect so line of sight isn't entirely relevant. Though Quill cast that spell originally. He doesn't have to dispel his own concentration spell and thus he didn't have to choose. Tom was being very silly and wasted spell slots and turns at least twice that battle.
Tom says the eye could be seen by anyone with truesight, is that true? It is not something that is normally visible but has been made invisible. It is something that doesn't actually have a visible form, so what would even they see?
so sky cities fly around the world, what if you reached over the side and placed an immovable rod would the sky city like slam into it and just stop until the engines overheat (or forced into a colistion course etc) ?
1:40:00 or so talking about name dopplegangers, try this.... My name is Jessica, my brother married a Jessica and my husband has a half sister Jessica. My husband's half sister was born Jessica Jensen, married took her husband's name, I was born Jessica Masters, married became the new Jessica Jensen, and my brother's wife was born with a different last name and is the new Jessica Masters. If he r maiden name was my husband's sister's married name it would be a full circle. Plus my husband's sister lived with us for about a year when she left her husband, so credit reports and debt calls come for me that are meant for her, I review things very carefully. So again if you start with my brother's wife, Miss Jessica D. became Mrs. Jessica Masters. Her married name is my maiden name. I was Miss Jessica Masters who became Mrs. Jessica Jensen. My married name is my husband's sister's maiden name so Miss Jesica Jensen became Mrs. Jessica S.
Why didn’t quill use his chest to put the metal containers with the construct and gear for the crew and then you could have it and then all the crew have last second explosives or you could give them to camara and then all the crew could have rifles a much better than a crossbow and if you were thinking you could’ve created a giant guardian and sentry could eventually bring out roots soul from the matrix
Late response but I instantly thought of Monarch from Titanfall 2, Sentry already acts like a pilot, Link to pilot, Uphold the mission, Protect the pilot
