I had forgotten that they didn't just leave Rosemeadow behind. They left her behind AND she was the whole motive for this leg of the quest. :D Ohhhhh MY that is unfortunate. Hilarious. But unfortunate. I loved that the tavernkeeper immediately starts talking about last meals when she learns of their destination.
Love the look on Toms face after he says "I'm dumb as hell" and Mark who was just obviously just continuing on with the intro just said "yeah" paused and then continued the intro obviously not realising he'd just agreed Tom was dumb 😂
Quill should always cast 2 concentration spells, one good and the other a random low level one, just to get an "extra life" for his important concentration spell (like beacon of hope, or similar) Edit: the spear has been changed, he now can't choose which spell is lost.
If only there was a roll they could do to determine if someone is going to harm them... Edit: especially after they were almost abducted a few hours before 😂
I've been watching to long to remember but in light fall. some time your synergy of the party up lifts my sprits every time I watch any content from you guys. Keep it up clear skin for now until snowy sky's tomorrow
Legitimately one of the scariest combats they've had in the whole campaign considering every attack has a flat 5% chance of just killing you with no save. Mark just rolled terribly the whole encounter and the team had enough defensive options to make it a lot less deadly than it could have been.
It's annoying how it comes up so rarely, so few people know about it Barbarians past level seven can't be surprised as long as they rage first thing on that turn
Danger sense is not alert, just like how eldritch invocations arent feats. Surprise is like acting on turn 0 while everyone roles intiative for turn 1.
Dont telegraph your traps i dont know if these things understand common but if they did they would know the genasi is up to something (though the casting should tell but that could be anything) but with the yelling they know the trigger.
Spoiler We hear the phrase "You see the arrow pierce Nova's chest and I to her heart and Nova dies." during a dangerous fight. I don't know if I'd call it fun but it's certainly not boring.
Late for the response buuuut I think they still own them but they had to be attuned so almost everyone (if not everyone) has unattuned to them to make way for new stuff.
Hmm a good encounter but I am not sure about the attacks like Heart Breaker, every time a player says, I want to attack x body party or, I want to try to attack there weapon arm so they drop there weapon, the ruling is, no called shots, because there to op and if players can do them enemies can do them, so we just don't allow them, then all the sudden, oh but all these bad guys, they have insta-kill call shots. If they drop you, you will just die.
I know Mark may be running it differently but in rules as written DnD 5e surprise rounds aren't a thing. Instead suprised is a pseudo-condition that "If you're suprised, you can't move or take an action on your first turn of the combat, and you can't take reactions until that turn ends." (Player's Handbook, pg. 189) Being suprised is assigned to combatants by the DM when initiative is rolled, but is mostly based on who can see who and stealth (PHB, pg. 189)
