We are just a few chapters in Masterbook Biology..thinking about changing to this. I keep going back and forth. I feel like nothing is sticking. I'm not sure if its the wording or just lack of interest. Trying to decide is driving me nuts.
I know that's hard! My daughter won't use Friendly Biology next year bc it really doesn't fit her learning style, but my son liked it a lot. So many choices out there that it can be overwhelming.
I got a great deal on friendly physical science from someone local that my youngest son will probably use. I'm glad to see this review because I really think I'm going to use this for high school biology.
So glad it was helpful! My son really did enjoy it. He hugged the textbook when it arrived, which NEVER happens EVER! Poor guy had just been so overwhelmed.
Thank you for your in depth review! It was very helpful. My twin daughters will be entering theur freshman year in the fall and neither are very onto science. Many of the curriculum options look fantastic but I think think they would eould be too rigorous for them. I think Friendly Biology seems like a great option.
Do you mind sharing what the other curriculum was? I'm trying to determine what to use for my daughter. She's bright which makes me lean toward Apologia or Berean Builders, but she's also not a huge fan of science so I've been considering Friendly instead. Thanks for all your videos! Have also decided to use Master Books for ela after seeing your other video 😊
I was torn between this curriculum and Real Science Odyssey biology 2. We ended up using RSO, which had a ton of labs and a similar layout/amount of text as this. The rigor seems similar, just more labs. That said, i do wonder if my daughter might have preferred this one, as she was getting kind of burnt out on so many labs and activities. I did cut some, and we opted to wait to do the human anatomy section until 10th, when we'll combine it with health. Did this curriculum have a human Anatomy section? How many lessons was it, if so?
This deal is for families who purchased a science curriculum during a current school year, and it didn't work out for their student. You have to email the company directly stating you already purchased another science curriculum with proof of purchase. They will direct you from there.
