Matt, this was seriously like three epic videos in one!! Doggies, Dollies, and topwater Spannos… just insane! Was in awe from start to finish, love your work mate 🙌🔥
outstanding... I'm from Canada... but I get a taste of fishing like this on my annual trip to Cuba. I had this video playing at my desk while I work.. and my heart was pumping and I can feel the adrenaline myself. Top notch video, man!
Epic videography as usual- especially liked the mackie airshow. The sharks were kind of a drag (as usual), but what fun smashing em with your pals. 👍Well done my man!
When there's heaps of sharks I always wanted to try a reel with thin wire on it hooked to a 12volt or to the wire to put voltage in the water say while someone is on a good fish
How about that intro!! Lovely work on the drone mate - ND filter to get that motion blur? Will watch the rest later - get me up for a Vanuatu Dog and GT mission taking place soon! Same mob you went with
Sharks are easy to deal with for a short fishing trip - get yourself 2 x 20ltr plastic oil cans and 5 meters of line dump them down stream by about 500 meters from your fishing spot with a 4" hook and something full of blood ... drive to your fishing spot and let the sharks do what sharks do best even to themselves ... what's on the 4" hooks at the end of the day is up to you - it's an Expensive Rig
Hello Matt, another epic video, congratulations. I'm going to try jigging for dogtooth tuna this year and where we are going looks like a jig graveyard due to barracuda biteoffs, sharks and doggies cutting one off on the reef. As this is likely to be expensive I thought I might try some ridiculously cheap jigs from temu, but I wouldn't trust the assist hooks.I think I will buy quality eg owner hooks separately. So, if you have a second to give advice - what weight and colours of jigs would you recommend, also what size assist hooks should I use?
Great effort! You stand a better chance against doggies on the Maxel Rage or Transformer. They are superior in stopping power more so than a Saltiga or Stella. Overhead gear is better for heavy jigging for many reasons. Even though Japanese brands like daiwa and shimano make majority of the worlds best quality reels the yanks have one over on them when it comes to certain overheads. loosing too many jigs and fish to sharks is costly and I know thats the last thing you or any fisherman really wants... You will still loose fish just not as many....
Amazing footage mate. What can we do as fisherman to combat the increase in shark numbers. I feel that the rules need to be considered by fisheries so that shark numbers can be reduced by letting recreational fishermen take a couple?
@@PelagicPursuit89 let's stand together as fisherman and make a statement. I live in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast and soon we will have too many whales to cross offshore safely in winter. We only need to head out about 15 km from Mooloolaba to get a great feed. But soon will not be safe due to the amount of whales. Surly we can stand together and at least take a few sharks as a feed if you want.
Solution to sharks….. power up the boat after you hook up and drag the fish away. It will surface behind the boat and can be skipped to the boat on top of the wake. Not really sport but if you want a feed and sharks are around it works.
problem with that is doggies can't cut you off with their teeth only mackerel can and if you hook a shark it won't bite through the leader and you have to fight them
Is Australia having the same problems as Florida with the sharks? They don't control them very well? I don't remember it being so bad in any of your videos
Yep govt regulations has caused it and both major political parties don’t want to touch the issue of culls as it’s a Political hot potato so they just increase fishing restrictions to combat it, is pretty messed up, even with so called boat ramp surveys they don’t want to know how many fish were taken by sharks only what you have caught, so results are cherry picked
