I'm in Brazil following your videos through the simultaneous translator on You Tube, I set it to translate and I delay the video by 0.75, so I have time to read everything. Congratulations on your tips are extremely important to all polishers

That is awesome to hear. I was hoping that being translatable was helping someone. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel.

Picking out that 5000 rpm comment in Polishers Corner podcast got me from a Dewalt variable to the 6072 Milwaukee @ 5500 rpm. Wow! My results were night and day better instantly. Still use the variable on back walls of mounted drives.

Isn't it crazy how something as simple as a buffer and the speed can make a difference?

Great video as usual. Don't know that I would ever go to the high speed grinder but this info really clears up as to which one I would purchase. I would really like to see a video on foam pad polishing. At what grit you would stop sanding and start cutting with your foam pad and what it would take to get it to the best mirror finish you possibly could. Looking forward to it.
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing Год назад
I don't do foam on anything other than touch up or maintenance. I wouldn't use it to get a mirror.

A video about tips for polishing stacks or fenders over the rear tires would be helpful. Also I don’t feel like her good enough results of polishing tank end caps behind stacks or steps any tips would be so helpful, thank you for all the videos and time to shine products they’re the best out there

Hey Evan I love your instructions and videos I started on my 379 Pete and ordered some of your products. But my question is I'm running a Dewalt that is 8500 rpm. I seem to loose Rouge alot and get the black goo is that rpm to fast??
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing 9 месяцев назад
For me it is a little too fast. The extra speed will burn out the rouge and dry it out faster when it gets hot.

The Makita GA7021 online says it's a 7 inch grinder. Just verifying that's your favorite one you speak of here? And are you using 9 inch wheels on the 7 inch grinder?
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing 2 месяца назад
Yup that is the one. We use 9" buffs on the 7" Makita.

Thanks for the video. Have you ever had a problem with longevity on the variables? Seems the only way I can get them to last (at least the red one) is if I keep a white buff or the flannel on it and leave the heavy work to the ga7021.
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing Год назад
Yeah the little ones don't like to be wide open. But with that said the longevity has been fine to be honest. But we maintain and clean ours rather regularly.

I would absolutely love If all the variable speeds went to 4500 rpm it would be absolutely perfect. But we get what we get.

Hello I know you get this question alot but I do not have the time to watch all your awesome videos. I'm looking to polish my anteque semi sleeper, its aluminum and dirty.. if you have time look at my channel and you will see the sleeper. What do I need to get it looking good, not perfect but better, I'm a beginner and have no polishing tools or knowledge.
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing Год назад
You are a glutton for punishment. LOL That is gonna be no small task. But if you truly want to do it check out my how to sand and polish aluminum video. You will need to sand that bunk with 220-320-400-600 grit and then go to an orange buff with brown rouge, then a yellow buff with brown rouge, then a foam pad on an orbital with hand polish, followed with a white wheel and green rouge to finish. It will be a big job. Those bunks can be tricky to polish. All of the items I listed can be purchased from goshcineon.com
