In the TT hand, that river 9 is a dream river for you. In a 4! Pot, he's likely checking range here. So he still has qq-AA, some kq, some Ax of hearts. That river means his qq-AA now counterfeits your JTs combos. It reduces the available number of sets and two pairs you can have. It also means you now beat his flushes and straights. That 9 did very little to "kill your action" He likely had AK/AQ with a heart. Which is an easy fold on river anyway. Or qq-AA with or without a heart, and he made a disciplined fold with them. Just something to think about.
Good job taking a shot! I went to LV around the time you were there in video. I normally play 2-5. I took 2 shots at bigger games. I decided to do it at the end of the 2 losing 2-5 sessions. I min bought it both times. 5-10-20 at Aria and 5-10 at Bellagio. I never got comfortable and ran bad. Top/top vs set to lose a big pot but found a way not to go broke against most aggressive player at the table in 5-10-20 game. Lost $400 in 1.5 hrs then game broke. Got all-in pretty early in 5-10 game on the flop with a board of J-4-6. Two spades. I had A-4 of spades. Ran it twice against J-8 off suit. Ace, 4, or spade would work. All 4 cards missed me. Frustrating. Min bought one more time and couldn’t get anything going and lost that bullet too. In a raised pot pre-flop my QJ suited that flopped top pair lost to a 6-4 off when he turned a gunshot straight. I should have bought in deeper so i could play cards instead of constantly trying to figure out how to get all in or pot control my marginal spots. Only thing I would do different when you shot take is get away from Ace-rag top pair hands on river. Even though players are capable of making over bet type plays with nothing if you aren’t a regular in that game they are probably looking for spots like that to make big value bets against you if the guy thinks you are a rec player on a board where he has a Jack or nothing. There is nothing to over bet bluff with on that board IMO. He might even make that bet with AJ or better as played. Crying calls with Ace rag is a tough spot to be good on that board. Just my opinion in game you have to go with what you believe to be the right decision. The K-9 gut shot was tough. 50-50 call or fold IMO. $500 seemed like a milky bet on river. Real tough spot though. Keep grinding and again I love the choice to shot take! I think as a player it gets monotonous playing the same stakes over and over again. Plus it’s always a good idea to push yourself against tougher players/games once in a while to learn and to practice keeping a close eye on great players to try pick up things. Good job!!!
@levihaugenoe3836 I appreciate the story. The 5-10 at Aria has a 5k max buy-in, I think, which is pretty big. The Bellagio is half that. I found that playing this bigger game that I did gave me more confidence, especially going back to 2-5 or 5-10. Made those games feel like nothing (easier to play). So there's some advantages to taking shots even when you come out with fewer chips than u started with. We learn, and then when doing it again(taking a shot), you feel less nervous because you've already been there done that. So I looked forward to doing more of that, and maybe we'll be playing in a big game sometime together 👍
I enjoyed your vlog,I play Bellagio alot myself.I think our playing styles are very similar.Only thing I've learned on ace deuce suited is if you dont hit the flush/or draw dont invest any chips.Dont leave home without your kicker.
Man I’d have snap checked back that AK hand on the river. I think he pushed you off the best hand knowing you were stabbing. Either way, good on you for taking a shot at such a massive game. I’ve heard many people say the Bellagio 10/20 is the toughest game in Vegas.
@@Gram601You are correct. I misread the action. I still think it’s a check and try to get to showdown type situation. If he bets then you just muck it. Gainz isn’t repping anything on this river. A ten would not lead and a set would have raised the flop. Either way I still think he played decent. Just didn’t run particularly well.
@@GainzPoker Yeah I just think you had no shot of winning that pot unless you get to showdown and somehow ace high is good. Your bet looked exactly like what it was, a stab at the pot trying to take it down. A good player will see that and raise you off your hand just like he did.
I was just at the Wynn yesterday and that happened to me as well. Flopped 2 pair 3 different times and got beat on the river or the turn by A straight and 2 flushes. Ppl are calling stations, so I figure u have to bet more when u flop two pair. Especially if ur playing at A higher stakes game. I bet around 50 bucks for value twice and one time I raised A 15 dollar bet to make it 30. The bets for value wasn’t high enough and I was just playing 1,3 so u can imagine what u should bet for value at A higher stakes game.
Your reads on opponent hands are off. In order to play 10/20 and become a winner, you need to work on that better. Especially your bluff catches are terrible.
hey bro do the dealers or floors give you any problems for filming? Also are you just using a stand ? or being sneaky? Trying to get mine going . good content bro
The MGM properties in Vegas have you fill out a vlogger questionnaire, and it takes about 24 hours to get approved. And just when you go play, they ask you to tell the floor manager just letting them know you are gonna film and they'll ask you to show your email that says you're approved and good to go. Some places around the country don't allow filming at all, so I call in advance, asking if it's allowed and if they allow it, I'm more than willing to play at those places. More and more casinos and poker rooms are allowing it. They r starting to realize that showing their logo on the internet is free advertisement for them. And I have a stand I use for shorts, and for long form content, it's just a lever stand that I stuck on the back of my phone. So I've used both.
Definitely got to take your chances and risks while you can Sir. No one likes to lose, but its the next step of moving forward that counts. Positivity. You got to take risks and never limit yourself. Definitely proud of you Sir!
Damn. Your storyline dynamic in the beginning was definitely captivating my attention. I was really hoping for some win some/ lose some. Then it just got more sad and depressing. I would not have taken it that well at the end of the night. Probably would've gotten smashed and danced it off at like omnia night club or something.
Still proud of you bro for taking shot at higher stake ! You just cooler all night long but in the future you'll crush at that stake I hope you'll ! Good luck 👍
I think a check may have been more prudent with the AK, and sacrificing your $520, rather than throwing away another $460. Limit your losses when possible. The A2 suited hand, I hate the turn check, and for obvious reasons. Letting him get there for free, you donated a lot more money. Playing in this bigger game, you’re certainly going to be playing with better players, so it might be best to take down smaller pots, rather than facing bigger decisions on the river card. Again, it’s about limiting your losses, especially at higher stakes games.
And that my friend is poker It sounds nuts but when I play bigger tables i play more aggressively with certain hands, AK not one of them But a decent pair or flopped 2 pair after evaluating them and the I make big bets… pays off usually
1st video of yours i've seen - great content man. Im a long time poker pro and 10-20+ specifically is where I become a dog in most games. This Bellagio game is extremely tough and alot of 2-5 type pros with big winrates are gonna be huge dogs taking shots in this game. I will say that either you just weren't comfortable with the stakes or you need to study some preflop charts. Playing great preflop at these stakes is so much more important than it is at the lower stakes. I think your preflop play here was poor which led to alot of the tough situations postflop. 3-betting AQ bvb should be automatic. You should never be limping jt suited. You should be folding A2suited under the gun and when you get 3bet its either 4bet bluff or fold, never call. There is absolutely nothing wrong with shot taking though and hopefully you learned from and get better from the experience. Anyway, sorry for the unsolicited advice. Keep making great videos!
@@sgddfgfghfghit’s the correct advice. Preflop is way more important as you move up and you can’t play scared. Either fold or raise representing an actual good hand
@@sgddfgfghfgh OK. Always have to trust yourself. I’ve played everything from 50 cent/1 dollar to 100/200 with a 400 straddle. You don’t have to listen to me.
AKo not 4 betting OOP, AQ not 3 betting BVB is pretty bad to be honest. Also Not 3bet, 4 betting enough makes opponents easier to fold to your raises with premiums.
After checking the turn makes no sense to milk, maybe double your bet would have got him to fold. Gots to bluff big on a four diamond board. Great job, can't learn without mistakes.
seems play kind passive bro, if more aggressive maybe more people will like . Straddle 40 your AK is nearly 100bb i know maybe its biggest game you have ever play, but it just 100bb
Played like an atm paying off everyone. At this level not much bluffing going on especially in Vegas, in my humble opinion there were at least 3 or 4 easy lay downs. Good to get your feet wet. Maybe better run outs next time.
No way. As you move higher players are more balanced and more capable of bluffing. They might have identified him as a station and underbluffed in general, which is a good adjustment based on this video
Sometimes getting tested at a big tables shows you a thing or 2. Hope this did for you. People got lucky and that's all toy played solid it wad jus one of those days.
@707ridah Ya it was a confidence booster. Knowing I am able to hold my own and compete at those stakes. The sessions to come on the trip/vlogs to come made the game easier to play with more confidence.
In that A2s hand I legit and sitting here saying yeah all the draws missed but what about the jack ? He could easily have a jack and his bet size is legit saying hey I might have a jack. Like duh
@fluffle209 I think it's just the type of device being watched on. Most people say they can see them perfectly. And even editing, I tried to make them "more clear," but I don't think I can. Maybe with enough traffic, a sponsorship for clearer graphics is in the future.
Def think you ran below average but at the same time I wouldn't say you played great either. AK co v btn standard 4b, AQ BBvSB 100% 3b, A2s EPvBTN 3b is a fold could argue a 4b if you want to get ool but flatting is just bad imo. If you play again just remember when they OB river in a spot where it looks like you have SD value they likely have it (A2vKJ hand). They are viewing you as fish not trying to run big bluffs imo.
I think you played pretty good but that hand when you a2 and an ace hit on the turn was really bad because you didn't think that guy checked the ace on the turn because he was betting top pair on the flop. then when the 2nd jack hit the river he made a bet slightly over pot I think that is a definite fold because you got to put him in three jacks. I know you were setting him up to bluff but you don't really know this players well enough to know that they are going to bluff into you . I'm actually thinking you gave these these guys to much credit that they would be capable of making bluffs on the river when everything they had it.
@drewt1717 I wanted to take a shot. But I see where you are coming from. I still like how I played, and it gave me more confidence in playing at any stakes, not worrying about the money when playing because I already played 5, 6, 7, 10k pots. Always a lesson learned from every experience (Game selection) No regrets, never give up 💪
@@GainzPoker I agree. I thought the hands you covered were played pretty well. Which is why it seems like more than just bad luck. But I suppose there aren't many games with those stakes which aren't infested with collusion and other advantages designed to take the stranger's whole buy in... Overall lesson I took from it is "after your 3rd well-played hand results in a 3rd big loss, gtfo and go play a tourney or something policed a little better." 😅
@jeffhuang5225 Thanks! It was a blessing in a way. Kinda like in sports/being an athlete. If you just constantly win the drive to want to get better and improve goes away. So this actually helped my confidence and drive to want to get back there, learn and fix the mistakes.
