10.3 is such a great br if your team doesn't instantly fold which will happen so often, especially when an event is taking place like right now and let's not forget the sales.
One of the things that KILLS me (mentally) about having to fight Russia is the lack of spalling. Their MBTs just do not generate spall. It’s so bad that with the M1 or VFM5 (point being, 105 APFSDS) you can thread the needle *right* through an ammo carousel without doing anything, cause you just don’t spall, and the round isn’t large enough to contact the ammo. That doesn’t happen a ton, but my point is that you’ve got to aim so carefully, no matter what round you’re using, for relatively small weak spots, that sometimes don’t do anything. Shots into LFPs don’t spall, so depending on the angle, you’ll get the driver and engine, but not ammo. Shots head on into the drivers port will get the ring and breach, but not always crew. Shots through ammo or fuel tanks sometimes decide to not do anything. Really annoying fighting such heavily armored vehicles, with tiny weak spots, that even if you hit in a weak spot or direct in the side, may just do *nothing* (especially when I’m playing the supposedly heavy NATO equivalent of Challenger, but with massive weak spots, ammo that detonates all the time, and according to the game, generates way more spalling than a T-72) Damn, that was a rant and a half
No one believed me when I said Strela top tier, thing is insanse. I think for the vehicles I keep in my actual toptier lineup from this BR you played today it's the: 2M, Sprut-M and Strela, I can't recall if the Moderna got rotated out finally when I got the Sprut. Most of the supporting vehicles from the 10.0 area easily hold at the 11.7 range and it's insane. Great video as always!
I don't feel like the Mi24 is that good, it just feels like a big slow flying coffin to me. If you're doing the stand-off missile approach then honestly the KA29 feels way better suited for its mobility and extra zoom.

I think their advantage is that they have so many decent options at 10.0 and 10.3 that you can just keep spawning in with a dangerous vehicle. Plus they have some great options for premium and squad vehicles. Just all around a fun lineup at this BR

292 and strela really belong at 10.7… (Maybe T-80UD as well and T-72B 1989, which belong at 10.3 at the very least…) Edit: almost forgot about the sprut and BMP-2M which also need to go up. 10.7 for the BMP easily, and 10.3 at the very minimum for the sprut.
Strela was fine on 9,3 if you know how to play. Sprut has too bad armor for 10,7. It can be 7,62'd to the side. Bmp2m has a moderate winrate. t72b1989 makes no sence for 10,3 since its pretty mutch the same and its not even good. no thermals era weakspots.

Are you fucking insane… Yeah the sprut is low armored, which can be an advantage in the case of no armor best armor, as well as wonderful mobility for the thing. Best Russian 125mm round in the game and wonderful sights and citv, plus an actually reverse speed. It should be at 10.3 (along with the striker) BMP-2M is extremely strong for what it is. The win rate isn’t all that high because the stock grind is atrocious (recommend you don’t rely on those stats too much anyway). T-72B(1989) has much better protection than the standard T-72B, it needs to move up so long as the standard T-72B stays at 10.0.
@@mehmetbozkurt3274 the strela has a photo-contrast mode for its missiles that allows further away locking, and most importantly, is unflareable. It will automatically lock aircraft with this mode if it’s more convenient, and clouds and ground clutter are hardly capable of breaking his lock. Combine this with the fact that it has a wonderful G-overload limit (much higher at some times than what the stat card lists) and you have a unflareable, and undodgeable missile SAM system that’s just absolutely cracked against whatever it faces.
You want a paper abrams you got the sprut, you want an armored abrams you got the t80, you want the best of every vehicle you got the 2s38, you want a armored railgun launcher you got the 292, you want a nonpainful fun bradley the bmd4, you want an A10 with actual armor you got the su 25k, you want to clear the map of air jets and helis in a 7km radius you got the strela. Its such a stacked lineup and they ALL do their job and do it very well. so much variety and Gaijin keeps adding more and more. 10.3 USA was my go to, probably because the abrams is actually strong there. That speed is something but the bradley was not fun even though i could make the Tow -Bs work it was just...boring. Stryker? The Thing is great in hulldown but finding such spots around the map was a pain your just too huge, its too niche and its movement is not fun to manage. 120s...another hulldown vehicle but has more depression(in more ways than one) than the stryker but your so daaamn slow why would i play this when i have the Abrams. The lav is fun...sucks at AA, cant kill helis in an uptier but theres some fun to be had zooming around the map rocketing people late game.
As someone grinding USSR right now at is currently at 7.3. Most of us wont see 11.0 before 2040 (You should do a video about how insane americans are at sub 7.7)😭
10.0 Russia is also the primary entry point for most wallet warriors, which make for some really inconsistent games sometimes. Sale seasons are also absolutely miserable for 10.0 Russia.
Gaijin will never make anything US perform good because it will make Russia bad in game. Anything US is crippled to the ground or over BR'ed and most things Russian is either broken or under BR'ed.
@@thegreenbolt2819 If you're talking about the F-15A being 12.3 that's because Gaijin didn't added HMD and TWS to it and that 0.3 BR difference hardly matters as 80% of matches are top tier anyway. I don't agree with it being 12.3 but knowing Gaijin they will force us to grind another F-15 variant to get top tier F-15. I'm not sure what other under BR'ed planes you're talking about. And for Russia the SU-27's loadout is straight up bullshit yet alone being in the same BR. It simply should not be in the game. Not only R-73 has superior mobility compared to 9M, but also it has better IRCCM, all you need to dodge an 9M is to pop few flares continuously and make a turn, don't even need to reduce throttle or anything, while R-73 below 1-2km is straight up lethal and you can't do anything to dodge it. Not gonna talk about R-27ER as everybody knows how OP it is and has no competition, but the R27ET is as well just insane as you can shoot someone from 7km away (farther than render distance btw) without triggering RWR, I had so many times died to SU-27 throwing that thing from space while I am dogfighting someone else. Su-25's takes damage like no other, made out of pure stalinium while A-10 wings rip in 1-2 shot like made out of paper. Also now they added new ATGM's to SU-25 that has more range than all the NATO SPAA's, so they're pretty much pointless now, and Russia was already dominating with Ka-50 & 52's. Russia starting to get all-aspect 30G missiles all the way at 10.7 BR while US is still stuck with rear aspect 10-20G missiles, and only get the 9L's at 12.0 with F-16A and F-14B except the A-10 but I'm not considering that because the SU-25 also get's the same treatment and A-10 is slower than some prop planes. A lot of planes at 10.0 BR matches doesn't even have flares. I could go on and on all day, the double standards doesn't seem to end with this company.
@@INeatFreak Other undertiered U.S. planes include, the P-39N, F4u-1A, P-51C, Xp-50, F8F-1, F4u-4B, F2G, P-51H, P-59A, F80A, F84B, F89B, F-89D, F2H, F104s, F5C, F5E, and F-16As Yes, while the Su-27 has a large loadout of weapons, its trade flight performance for that weaponry, in a 1v1 a F15A will absolutely dog on the Su-27, this is practically similar to F4E vs Mig21bis back in the day. R-73 while on paper has better IRCCM, it's not seen in game, there are many time in game I've witnessed and have easily flared R-73s, the opposite cannot be said about Aim 9Ms and AAM-3 as yes you can pop flares and turn but how many aircraft does the F15 face that has a ton of countermeasures that can continuously do that 4x. Thats also not mentioning how you need more flares to counter an Aim 9M compared to an R-73 the majority of the time as a result. The R27ET is a gimmick at most while it cannot trigger RWR, it is still a missile that can be flared. Anyone who has played the R27ET says the same thing that it only works against unaware targets who are not in a dogfight. The moment a player is in a dogfight, and has popped a flare, the R27ET will go for the flare. Like there is a reason why I take 4-73s and 6 R-27ERs, cause the majority of the time the R-27ET will be distracted by a flare. Yeah the DM and the new ATGM are BS for the Su-25 are BS though before that, you would have planes that could carry Gbu-8s that would could lob bombs from high altitude and can't be touched by any Spaa due to deadzones of radars, and then you also had Agm-65D maverick, which previously was the longest range atgm that can technically be outside any radar Spaa ranges as well. I'm sure many 9.3-11.0br tanks were fine with an A6E at 6-8k altitude lobbing gbu-8s will no way to counter them except in a plane. The all-aspect 30g missiles that russia gets are just R-60Ms, which as you know are easily flare able and are a very short range missile. If we compare it with the Aim 9G/H, the 9G has much better range, and better flare-resistance compared to the R-60s, heck even the Aim-9J in its current state still has better flare resistance then the R-60M. Both missiles have advantages and disadvantages to each other. To remotely try and make the R-60M as an equal to the Aim 9L is disingenuous as the Aim 9L blows the R-60M out of almost every metric.
Back in the day the Mi-35M was 10.3 and boy was it busted. I had a 5 K/D with it at that BR and got several nukes with it. It is was (and still probably is) incredibly OP
With the Krizantema you lock on the first target and fire then immediately aim for the next target and guide the second one manually. You can start the second missile even if the first is still on its way. EZ
Wait can the Moderna’s turret still tank DM53 now? I didn’t realise they nerfed the ERA. If I remember correctly it was 250 vs KE on the turrrt and 150mm on the hull.
Recently got some tech tree stuff for 10.3 Ussr. My winrate crashed so hard after the 2S38 went on sale. Like 7 of 10 games are lost within minutes after they started because of 1 death leavers...
The wall hitboxes on so many maps are completely broken it's enraging. I don't remember it being THAT bad a couple months ago. I wonder if the snail effed up something. I'm surprised this hasn't gotten its own "it's fixed". I've seriously quit playing for a couple days at a time because of these annoyances.
If you play AB you'll start to notice that there's not just outright broken hitboxes, but >90% of them aren't even synced with the textures. All the maps are as hastily put together as possible.
@@bickboose9364 Maps in War Thunder are really the one big turnoff to me these days. So many imbalances, spawns on one team exposed to shots from 1+ km away, ability to shoot through ground... Or the opposite : invisible wall hitboxes everywhere. Collision physics that make no sense : drive through a massive tree or concrete block... But both tank and APFSDS stopped by the tiniest little staircase wooden pole. They keep pumping out premium content but can't be bothered to fix blatant incompetent workmanship on maps. It's grinding on my nerves lately.
He points out flaws in every vehicle he plays, recently had a whole video dedicated to the fact the abrams is less than competitive at top tier at the moment. I dont think he is completely objective, but I wouldnt say he is blindly biased for or against a nation either. So while I agree about him not being wholly objective, the sentiment you're trying to impart is entirely wrong.
There is quite honestly something wrong with USSR at 10.0 nothing. They lose consistantly 13/15 matches on EU servers. Germany on the other hand is easy mode with the Leo2s that easily push without fear.
@@Optimusprime56241 Nah, there is no such thing as skill in this game where everything comes down to RnG. Not that map knowledge is helpful either. Never had Red Desert since I started playing so I wouldn't know where to go.
This has been happening to me lately and I saw it happen with you in your first game. Against that first abrams that you shot, you took out his loader, but he was able to shoot right back at you even though there wasn't enough time after his first shot to have been reloaded before you took out said loader. Did they change the mechanic where if the loader is killed, the round reload starts over?
As somebody who plays both russians and germans i disagree. Russians have massive terrible downsides like bad reverse speed meaning you cant really pull back when the breach is hit and bad mobility through the whole tree, literally every vic has terrible gun depression meaning you can snipe in a hull down and any hilly map becomes unplayable, they get MGs later on average meaning you get CAS bombed a lot in low tier, they get thermals later than NATO vics, they generally lack a good fast light tank alternative through its tree (yes the BMPs exist but they are barely faster than a T-80). The only good thing the russians have for them going is good armor but thats about it.
Strela locks reliably on 4km and closer for non-afterburning targets all aspect, 6km rear aspect. For afterburning targets I've gotten locks out to 10km in all aspect as long as the engine is hot enough. Strela struggles to lock onto anything without a jet engine past 4km and helis with active protection IRCM are impossible to launch on(though that goes for all IR sams)
@@blaken3824 furthest ive ever locked onto a drone? 6.5km. They have very tiny heat sigs and even when you have a solid lock, sometimes the missile just goes dumb and cant track. Furthest kill and reliable launch range for drone size targets is about 4.5-5km
Really wish I'd got the Moderna. When the event was live I just wasn't interested in it. I was in fact stupid and I regret it. Maybe some day I'll get one in a gambling crate.
Personally, I still can't find my liking in high tier Russia. I can't suit myself with the lack of agility that the T series tanks have, and the reverse too. And the one-shot death potential that T Series has, even if I get the first shot at the enemy, I still die to the enemy. if someone can give some quick advice, it would be very appreciated (Yes, I am not very skilled yet)

I’m about to unlock the 9.3 Sprut I started on it last night after unlocking the BMP3 managed to cram 52k rp into it while doin the event last night so with some luck I’ll get it tonight if not tomorrow but I don’t have any other tech tree 9.3s yet so I’ll probably go for the T-72A next I’ve been wanting that since it came to the game so that’ll be my next one
Russian main here: 9.3 is really good when not during sale events. Whenever a sale is going on you get sucked up to 10.3 almost every game. T72A, T64A, T62M1, 2S25, BMP3, ZSU23-4M4 all make a FANTASTIC lineup, the only downside is your lack of good quality tank optics(minus the BMP3 ofc)
So annoying to see how well you can control the atgms of that Russian td but all others suck hard now :D I would love to guide the Wiesel missles like that but now it’s just pure pain and useless :/

They put the 292 from 10.0 to 10.3 WOW what a balancing move! That thing shreads 11.7 MBTs! And than there's the 2S38 in the exact same br where the Schützenpanzer PUMA sits....I mean what should I explain about it? The PUMA has a 30mm cannon with APDFSD rounds if you grinded them. The 2S38 has a 57mm gun with APFSD, APHE and HE from the start since it is a premium, yeah so balanced. Russian bias, premium bias surely exist
@@Optimusprime56241The round is _slightly_ better, but everything else is equal or inferior to the Abrams. The Abrams' turbine engine gives it a much needed boost in mobility and the reload rate + gun handling are superb. Both the M1 and 2A4 should get their historical rounds (M900 & DM33) IMO.
