Just found out my triglycerides went down 54 points and I now have a ratio in the optimal range. I followed these tips, and ate a keto diet since April of this year. (Also have lost 30 lbs, and walk daily for at least 30 minutes). Woohoooo!!! Thanks Kait for making me healthier!!
I incorporated cinnamon tablets, CoQ10, omega 3, exercise daily, lost 30 lbs, cut out all processed foods, are a few more veggies (I don’t like them), went to fat free dairy, and cut all my dairy in half! It’s been a lot of work but worth it!
I figured out that the food pyramid is to be turned upside down and eat two meals a day. Breakfast is between 9 & 10 AM and the 2nd meal of the day between 4 & 5 PM along with an occasional 36 hour fast. No sugar/starch low carbohydrate diet and the weight comes off, triglycerides fall in range, HDL goes up and blood sugar drops and life is good.
Mine just came back 400 idk how I dont drink smoke eat junk food i dont eat fried foods... i will have to check out the mtc but this may be why My body although is in menopuase has been swollen.... so confused 😕
My trigs are 485 :( I’m 28 yo female, and I’m starting a new life style. I’m worried and I’m scared everyday for my life. Doesn’t help I already have terrible anxiety.
Thanks to keto and intermittent fasting I brought my triglycerides down to 81 from 210 in under six months. My a1c also dropped from 5.8 to 5.1 and dropped 35 pounds. Love these results!
My husband's triglycerides went fr 220 to 88...by doing....low carb...1 piece fruit only, no pasta, sm amout of rice and bread ( on occasion) and intermittent fast daily 16:8...he eats protein with veggies mostly..only drinks water...he also lost 5 lbs..he is naturally slim..but belly got flat.
I know this is an old video, but do you mind if I ask how long it took him to see results? I'm in the same boat as your husband, just trying to figure out a bit of a timeline for myself. THX
Great info! I’ve done all of what you’ve said in this video over the past 7 months and now have a triglyceride level of 79 mg/dL. Carnivore all the way.

@@johnschmidt2818 I started with a herniated disc that kept me in bed 20 hrs. a day, lost 20 lbs., had surgery, started eating "normal" gained 20 back, figured I could do it again. Hardest part was quitting a 20 year long 20 oz. an evening ice cream habit cold turkey.
I take a slab of salmon, cook it until 3/4 done, let it cool, cut it up into 5, vacuum pack them, and freeze them. Make a large pot of 12 ingredient vegetable soup. Then every day I take out a salmon portion, heat it, heat up a large bowl of vegetable soup, place the salmon in bottom of the bowl and add the boiling soup to it. Eat this every day. I lost weight and lowered my triglycerides. When I run out of salmon I will substitute with diced chicken, beef, or pork.
I am currently following these methods. I just spoke with dietician and she suggested also adding more high fiber veggies to diet to reduce triglyceride. As for sleep, i've noticed breathing exercises before sleep with no tv on has helped me stau sleep through the night.
In 2003, I began a lifestyle change. My triglycerides were 495 beforehand. Within 3 months, I had lost a lottle weight but substantially improved my bloodwork numbers. Almost 20 years later (age 69), my tri's have crept up again. Watching your video helped explain why. Thanks!
I’ve fought with high cholesterol and specifically high triglycerides my entire life. Recently had a heart attack and had one stent put in. I just discovered your channel and I’m hoping your suggestions will help.

Triglycerides at 70, HDLs at 60. LDLs still up but probably are type A, fluffy ones. vLDS at 15. What do you think?
Helle Maam, I just finnished watching your video. 😊 I search for this matter because I have found out I have a high triglyceride level. Thank you for this information it is very usefull.
I have been working on my triglycerides for about 2 years. My level jumped to 279 two years ago. I am type 2 diabetic. I’m not an alcohol drinker. Today I am working on bringing it down last blood work showed a decrease down to 136. I’m still working on it today by fasting. I also take ocean blue fish oil pills 1k milligrams everyday.
@@ankank2990 I eliminated juice 😧 which I loved a year ago. I think fasting has helped. I drink more water. I walk everyday. My dr put me pravastatin. I have been watching videos to find additional ways to work on my triglycerides. I eat more fish and vegetables.
I have had very high triglycerides ( 250 to over 1,000) and very low HDL for as long as I can remember. Now in my 7th decade my arteries are still squeaky clean. My parents were the ones with perfect lipid labs, yet both died from vascular disease.
@@jimg6970 Well, proves a lot considering my family history. My Dad had quad bypass surgery at age 60. Then again 12 years later. He had "perfect" cholesterol labs. I'm in my 60's with crummy lab reports and squeaky clean arteries. As one physician put it "Different time and different place." He nailed it.

@arnoldfrackenmeyer8157 thank you . I had mine done a while ago, and they were good, but now the dr wants me to go on statinscause my triglycerides are climbing . I don't know why. He scared me. I don't want pharmaceutical
Thanks for the video. I am going to try to implement some of these tips. I eliminated alcohol several years ago and I get plenty of sleep. I need to try to incorporate MCT oil into my diet, eat more fish and reduce sugar. Thanks again.
My triglycerides were not high before I went on keto last August (76) but by my annual physical in January I had lowered them to 56 while raising my HDL from 41 to 76 which made my important trig./HDL ratio 0.74 when under 2 is good. So I'm good with it.
I really like your factual, unpretentious, real advice for women. I’ve been binging your vids lately because I got diagnosed with pcos recently, and so far I really like your approach. I would love to see some exercise routine updates and research!
Fish oil was a game changer for me. Combining daily fish oil and weight loss dropped mine from a high of 2300 to 200. I try to get the most potent available off the shelf and take 4 a day. I look for the highest Omega3 amount too. I think it helps with joint pain too. I feel better at 58 than I did at 38.

65 yo male. My triglycerides have been as high as 2500. I have been on Keto since Jan 1, having lost from 200 to 185. Before I started Keto my triglycerides were 750. Yesterday they were measured at 1055. Even though I lost 15+ pounds my triglycerides went up 300 pts. I have been struggling with this since discovery in my early 30s. My plan at this point is to reduce portion size on Keto and implement intermittent fasting.
Let me tell you what helps me: 1- Walking every day, 30-60 minutes. Taking fish oil. Taking niacin. Staying away from sugar. Eating twice a day. No snacking. Eating fresh vegetables and fruits like apples, blueberries, and red cabbage. Sitting too much is not recommended.
Timing is everything! Been on keto for 2.5 yrs and was concerned about my numbers. (Don't like seeing my HDL go down, can't figure out) Help!! Just received my results. Thank you for sharing. I just found out my triglycerides are over 700. Definitely a eye opener. I’m a combat action veteran and former heavy drinker. I will definitely use your tools to help bring down my triglycerides.
I was regularly active but now usually am. Left whole grains for refined carbs due to phytates. Hardly eat junk food but my tri were 160. Now completely gave up grains and fill the void with bananas. Can't wait to see tri results
Thank you so much for all of your helpful videos! This one in particular was exactly what I was looking for. Item #1 has never been a problem for me, but I can definitely work on improving items #2 thru #5.
Since getting healthier via diet and exercise my triglycerides have been dropping. My HDL is currently too low though so I'm working on raising that up while at the same time lowering my Triglycerides.
Lol I’m way way higher than that.I know not funny. It was a huge number. I’ve been following your suggestions. I’ll bet some mct oil. Hey what do I have to lose. 4 yrs ago I thought I was relatively healthy. Then I got hit with a trifecta. Blood clot, kidney disease and kidney damage. Last year I was diagnosed heart problems and cancer. So kemo was started this year. Now this year diabetes, pancreatice and super high triglycerides. Diet was a no brained. I’m 5’10” and was 250# I already lost 25 lbs.before I started watching your videos.
My triglyceride levels are about 2000 it scared me to death to hear this!! My Doctor said it was genetic or familial Then I find out I am diabetic also so I know where you are comeing from. The weird things is I haven't ate red meat or pork in about 35 years!! But I do believe threw diet I can control it. You have my prayers for your health issues. I am in my 60s and have seen health issues really ramp up in the last few years. Good Luck to you 🦋
Yup I'm here because my Triglycerides was 999. I think the lab I deal with just stops counting at 999 so who knows what they actually are. I'm an active average build "healthy looking" guy. Everything you said in your vid to do or change I've been doing the opposite up until now. Thanks for the video!
I have done all of the things you suggested except the sleep one, plus I have jumped in with both feet to carnivore. I’ll have my 3mth bloods done in about 10 days so it will be interesting to see if it has worked. I had already reduced my triglycerides in the previous 3 months by going harder on the keto.
I've learned the hard way that carnivore/keto doesn't always help cholesterol. There are those of us with a genetic mutation that completely change everything. I was an active alcoholic that ate lean meat, a lot of starches, and plenty of carbs. My Tris and HDL were in the normal range. A strict carnivore for a few months and then keto saw my tris quadruple. Not everyone processes fatty meat the same. This is something people should be aware of before blindly following what they see on the internet.
@@CryptoLTP5 I abandoned carnivore and went back to lean meats. I eat some carbs like potatoes and beans, but not processed crap. I take Nordic Naturals Omega-3 every day. All this combined saw my levels drop significantly. I'm still a little high, but that's genetic. No matter how I ate, how much I exercised, etc., I've had slightly elevated Tris/HDL since the first time I was tested, so I'm not concerned with levels hovering around the high point. I refuse to take a statin because it's terrible for testosterone, something else the Dr's don't tell you when they try to force pills on you the second your cholesterol isn't in their range.
I'm not overweight , so I thought eating unhealthy wouldn't affect my cholesterol levels...I was wrong! In October it was 6.5mmol/L 😮. My triglycerides were very low though, thankfully. I've been eating very healthy, lots of veggies, fruit, potatoes, oats etc and have managed to reduce it to 4.1mmol/L, which I'm delighted with. My partner has always eaten very healthy and luckily has high HDL 1.6mmol/L, but his triglycerides are above the recommendation limit. Here in the UK the normal range is 0 to 1.6, but his was 1.9. We were both very surprised, but have since found out it's caused by his medication. It just seems so unfair
You promised to share the reason which is rare for higher triglycerides along with higher HDL. I take fish oil supplements daily and I have higher HDL and higher triglycerides as well.
So here's the gist of it. I'm 20, very lean and muscular carnivore for 4-5 months, eat 4-5 eggs a day, minced beef, hamburgers ,cheese, salmon. Fasting 19-18 hours a day, 2 meals no calorie restriction. BUT, I like to cheat every Saturday night. I'll have pizza, cookies, chocolate, energy drinks. I know it's baaad but I kinda like it, you know just a moment off, just a night a week. Could cheating occasionally like I do raise my thryglices so high that I could get heart disease or something like plaque in the arteries?
So I began making some changes to my diet and activity. I started in December 2021. I weighed 252 Lbs. my total cholesterol was 247, HDL 44, LDL 169, Triglycerides 172. I started eating healthier, and working out regularly. As of today, my weight is down to. 236. I just had my latest lipid test yesterday and my total cholesterol is down to 226, HDL 40, LDL lowered to 144, but my Triglycerides went up to 212. I’m so confused as to why. I feel a lot healthier and I feel like I’ve been improving my lifestyle. I really liked your video, but was curious on your thoughts as to why they may have gone up. I do enjoy a glass of wine a few days a week, but I’m not a big drinker. I really don’t eat “sugary” snacks. My breakfast is usually plain oatmeal with some protein powder mixed in. I have a follow up with my Dr, but I’m just trying to do mu own research. By the way, I’m a 45 year old male.
Almost exact same situation. I lost 20 pounds from eating a lot healthier (no sugar, no gluten) and my triglyceride levels sky rocketed from 90’s to 257. Still don’t understand why that happened and neither does my doctor. Any luck on your research?
Oatmeal will raise your blood sugar. If you are using any sugar free foods check label for maltodextrin , its worse than sugar. And check your protein shake for maltodextrin , whey protein could turn to sugar.
Thank you for your valuable advise, however,I don’t drink alchohol, and don’t eat processed food,,, always cook fresh, With olive oil, butter or coconut oil, and since last blood test, my tryglyceride has increased from 144 to 244 but my HDL is the same as last blood test, 89. The only thing I think I may be doing wrong , is having once or twice a week , red meat. Any suggestions? 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I am a 40yr old Male and just got a wellness test and my triglycerides are reported at 1650... My DR has me on a very strict diet and as well medication. I would prefer to do it naturally, I am curious of the MCT Oil/ Powder
I am doing everything you mentioned in the video and will be having my 3 year ketoversary in May. Last months blood results triglycerides 180, Cholesterol 227, HDL & VLDL were fine and LDL CHOLESTEROL 119. I take no meds at a healthy weight and really enjoy the keto lifestyle for maintaining my weight. I did have BPC the morning of my test, could this have made the results high?
I can’t hear all these exeperts with their “studies”. A lot of it is a BS. I’m eating and living healthy, no alcohol at all literally zero, only water, exercising, normal BMI, and still have high triglycerides since few years. Now mid 40’s. There are so many reasons why you might have them and it’s for everyone a different one. If it would be that general and easy to understand a human body then there wouldn’t be deceases at all.
Likely all these tips work but I only use one. For the last 30 years I've eaten a very low carb diet. I allow myself 12 net carbs per day. Net carbs are sugars. My triglycerides are between 45 and 60 and currently my hdl is at 80. I put these levels down to my low carb diet and nothing else that I do. Your triglycerides are a direct result of the amount of sugars you consume but even whole grains and fruit will raise those levels.
Just found out today. I'm a ticking time bomb. I've let myself go since covid19. My triglycerides are 1050. I'm 290 pounds. Dr. put me on a statin. Thanks for the tips.

As you mentioned about the blue light effect it has on you from your devices, I have the app on my devices already installed and so I set mine to on mode 24/7, minus -1 minute because you have to allow one minute in the 24-hour period that the blocker is not on for the 24-hour timer to be reset, so I set mine for beginning at 3:00 a.m. and it turns off at 2:59 a.m. and turns back on one minute later and stays on the entire 24 hours minus one minute therefore I don't get exposed to any blue light on my devices at all because the blocker is always on. So the use of blue blocker eyeglasses or anything else is unnecessary. and if you don't have a blue blocker app already comes installed on the device then install one (they also come under the name, Night Light) and use it the way I do So if you turn it on and set it to the highest setting in the red zone and you won't have any blue light at all, therefore no interference to your circadian rhythm, or to sleep, or any other adverse effect it causes.

I guess it’s time to increase my 1 mile run to 5 miles a day and to only eat oatmeal. I’ve tried everything and haven’t been able to make any progress
Hi, thank you for that valuable information. I also read exercise is best for reducing triglicerides, as the body consumes it for energy. Also read a study on 4 tblspns sesame oil daily reduced ldl over 30% more than olive oil. Now I dont know how ldl and triglicerides compare if what reduces one will reduce the other, so not sure about sesame oil for triglicerides, but definitely for ldl... and also read one study that fish oil being good for inflammation but it tends to increase ldl... so that is a difficult one to balance... I think the secret is 30 mins good hard workout daily? Be interested in your thoughts xox
