I really love this Joni ! I admire that you always find a way to make things work with what you have it really speaks of your talent and creativity.Your sculptures have a traditional folk art aesthetic but have very modern simple clean lines .This highland cow was well worth working through the challenges you ran into sculpting it ...It turned out to be one of your best pieces

That's incredible! I want to make a Star Wars bantha head, and this has so much great advice for how to do it. It turned out really well - as a Dundonian we have a few Highland cows around the area and it looks just like them! :)

There is a nice epoxy like material too called Magic Sculp that is pretty hand workable and cures really tougher than polymer clay. I've been planning to use it for armitures where you may want flexible joints like elbows and knees, but simulate bones. I've gotten this product from the Compleat Sculptor, they also have a similar item called Magic Smooth that can be used to give a hard exterior to foam. This might be handy when you make a softer base, but might need some areas harder. Just a suggestion.

Whenever I need to hot glue yarn/hair to something I make bunches and fold them over, tying them in the middle to make a small knot that's easy to push into the hot glue without burning fingers or leaving a mess. Just a tip for future projects!

With the hair what you could have done was make clusters of it and loop them at the top then hot glued them that's what I use to do when I use to make costume wigs with that same type of yarn

That came out amazing. :) I see cows all the time where I live when I am out driving around but none like that. I know someday I will try something like that with polymer clay. :)
