Highland Park shooting suspect was 'known to law enforcement' 

Pretty pathetic how he imagined himself going down in a blaze of glory, only to flee after the shooting then give up witbout incident after a short chase. This guy, in my opinion, is a total loser.

I hope it doesn't turn out that the FBI have been watching this guy closely like a lot of these other shooters

I love how he acts like he's "all that" but is in fact, the closest living relative to Homo Habilis that anyone could possibly locate.

He was suicidal, he wants to kill his family and cops came to take knives from his home etc... Why in the hell he was given FOID CARD to allow him to buy those guns? Some people must answer this and held accountable

This is so very sad and when I watch the interview with his uncle and he stated that they live in the same house we didn’t know what he was up to he never checked in with him they were just like ships in the wind that’s sad this is what happens to children they don’t have anybody but social activity this is sad

I imagine there are a whole breed of these folks running around, know to every law enforcement agency throughout the entire country and nothing is being done or held accountable. We only see and hear the tragic events.

I'm always conflicted watching the home videos and pics of these cases. People have become so insanely narcissistic they'll do anything to be recognized by the world. It's a culture issue of glorifying violence, which glorifies those commiting violence. It's an inconvenient truth but look at how much we collectively celebrate violence... and now we celebrate narcisicim.

It's very sad that murderers get more endorsement rather than people who actually contribute to society. Recycle this planet.

This punk just wanted his name known by the public - and he got it. I think that his name should never be repeated, and after he's found guilty - terminated the same day ! If these little monsters think they can't become famous to the public,, and that they will be eradicated the same day they're found guilty - it will stop.

I used to have a guy in highschool who was a little wired. He at first would challenge people for notoriety to Box and would throw gloves at them and try to fight them. Now this is Chicago in like 2012-2013 so honestly it wasnt like anyone wasn't ready for a fight. I got him to stop, he got into a group of like geeky kids, somehow made them all think they were gangster tbh I could go on about how tragic shit went for them but this individual would come to me for plugs Is hook him up but when he got into the booger sugar things got very out of hand. I slapped him around once because he was selling weed and telling people to grab as much as they wanted and pay him whatever (I was around so everyone was modest) I broke him away because his mind was just getting more nonlogical and he wasn't right. Flashforward 4 years from 2013 he had apparently been sworn into a very notorious gang has a two shooter that he thinks is the hand of God (he pulled it out once just to try and scare people at a hangout and he had guns drawn on him from every angle) he had just gotten out of county (hinted he was abused got extremely emotional and defensive about jokes on rape so it was kinda sad) then he was sent to prison seven years for robbing the 7eleven that he went to since he was a kid.... The system just expected him to fail and he did. Now after being sent from 3 different prisons around the country he has a thousand mile stare in his final mugshot. was a straight scumbag throughout all that but I always had his back I just wish people qualified to do so could've been there to help him before he went through what he did .

Doesn’t matter what what type of past someone has. There is NO EXCUSE FOR THIS. When did this start becoming a thing? School shootings, mass shootings, it’s just horrible

They shouldn't even publicly mention the shooter's NAME, let alone showcase his videos for the world to see. They should be treated the social media platforms treat someone who misgenders a person. Wipe them off the platform, without any questions and without any notice to anyone else about it. What's worse... misgendering someone or mass murder of children at school? If you seriously need to think about that then you're very likely suffering from severe, mental illness.

So the uncle lied. He wasn’t a “good kid”. He had a record. He also had a violent video pulled off his RU-vid channel. He planned this.

It's hard to imagine how someone giving all these warning signs about his mental state could still obtain any kind of gun. So many folks missed this---his family, friends, and FBI, folks who run social media sites....all missed this guy's threats?

Please note that in this person's video ( 00:37 ff. ) *someone* appears to be holding the camera. Is it possible to record oneself alone and produce this effect? Was he really alone in his world?

Who would that someone that looks that dangerous? This is one of those times where being judgemental will save your life.

My old neighbor's son graduated from a prestigious High school and the State University and was a collegiate athlete. He played baseball on my sons team. He had one problem. He is mentally ill. His parents refuse to believe their son could possibly have a mental illness. I spoke many times to this boy, he told me how he was depressed and had horrible social anxiety and paranoia. He said he told his parents but they tell him everybody goes through that and its normal and to grow up and shake it off. Well, that doesn't work very well with mental illness. I was friends with his dad, we drank beer and hung out hank hill in the alley style, but his wife was a bitch and very protective of her son , a real Karen. The kid is now 30, as is my son, but he still lives with his parents has no girlfriend or Friend's, no job and drives His moms car when she let's him. He still gets punished. 30 years old. College graduate. His parents still ignore his mental illness and think he just "lacks ambition". The reason I'm going on about this, is because this is how some of these kids become school shooters/whacko nut jobs. Parents and teachers that completely ignore or misinterpret a kids mental problems is the cause. Or like my neighbor, they didn't want the embarrassment from the stigma of a child that isn't "normal". They think it makes them look bad. So you get this.

One more shooter that the authorities knew about and did nothing about, I can’t help but feel like they’re letting this happen.

To be fair, the videos he posted didn’t have many views. I found his page right when they announced his name and there were almost no views on most of the videos. But after 5 minutes every video had thousands of views. It’s possible that he posted them but kept them hidden until today- I don’t know if that actually happened but it would explain why nobody was alerted. Also, I’m pretty sure all of his videos were posted in 2021. He was planning this for a long time.

I’m from Highland Park, I lived there from age 12 to age 21. I had a lot of great memories there. I watched Ferris Bueller’s day off filmed there on beach street, I saw the Ferrari chase from the movie weird science and I watched the front lawn scene for risky business and the Porsche that screamed down the street right next to the movie theater. Great friends and great people live there, this is truly horrible. I was in shock when my wife told me the news and at first I was in disbelief. I asked her which one, when she told me. I was paralyzed, speechless. My prayers go out to all of the community, victims and the victims family and friends in my home town I will pray every day 🙏 Pray for peace ✌️ Pray for love ❤️ Pray for the senseless violence to stop! There’s a young guy in my town who everyone knows as the future town shooter, he regularly makes weird threats in every store in town. The cops can’t do anything until he acts in some way. He scares everyone. We need to figure out how to stop these things from happening

He’s known to law enforcement and nothing gets done? His dad ran for Mayor and lost, maybe the family is prominent in the community, and as usual everyone turns a blind eye. A real tragedy that probably could have been prevented! 🙏🏻
