He is so close to being one the greatest coaches of all time but he keeps choking in the most important games. If he can get past the finish line he will definitely go down as one.
What a game by England. 5th win against Australia since the world cup nightmare, and this was the widest margin of them all. Australia lost it near the end to a rampaging England side. The gap between the northern and southern hemisphere teams is narrowing

Mate you have too admit , Australia were denied two tries that could have been perfectly awarded . If the conversions were good that means 20 points instead of 6 . And what about the try when the ball just doesn't want to go out ? And the one when the English is tackled but he slides 5 metres to score a try ? Outclassed no way. But outscored and that's it , no need to put excuses but if I show this highlights to a neutral person will agree with me every element was against Australia . It happens in sports , it's part of the game but it would be ridiculous to nick Australia for this . If England dominated all game and won by 15 points it would be more humiliating than losing by 24 with the coin falling in England side everytime

At 0:15 when the ball is kicked Hooper is several metres offside. He argued though that he put his arms up and slowed down until Koroibete (who was onside at the time of the kick) played him on again at about 0:17. However, under the laws of the game the ref can give a penalty if an offside player "moves forward towards the ball". Hooper had to stop or retreat until he had been played onside. Just slowing down a bit was not good enough. Bit harsh but the correct decision IMO.
I can't work out if this ref was incredibly biased against the Aussies and therefore shit, or if he was fair and didn't always ask TMO and made good decisions and was therefore excellent. Other than that good game. I thought England got pretty lucky there, but fair enough.
No bias, basic probability says if your team infringe more you will get penalised more. Both denied tries were the correct decision, seems harsh but you can't just award a try that was scored with illegal play just because you refused one earlier. Likewise you can't duck giving out a yellow just because you did it earlier. The Aussies have only themselves to blame but as usual that's the last person they actually will blame.
One of those days when everything could hv gone wrong went wrong but then the Aussies don't have that mental stablility to just hang in there. Besides England's bench up the pace while the game fell apart when the Auss bench came on.
Robbo 98 it was mostly fine but Hooper was run onside by koribete in the first try that was disallowed - most people missed it so don’t beat yourself up
William Collins I’m pretty sure that if you start from an offside position, you can only be run onside by the kicker, and hooper certainly was not run onside by the kicker

You are 100% correct. I don't think the French can produce decent refs - how the hell he was chosen when it's known that Romain is absolutely useless compared to other refs in the tournament.
The offsides was a good call, but the deliberate knock on call was bullshit. You can clearly see he was trying to curl his fingers so he could grasp it, but it was too slippery.

Cathal Shovelin They were not lucky breaks they were well placed kicks that were chased. They were not lucky binnings both players obviously have zero discipline and deserve to get carded if they want to play like that.
