yes, it let you do enourmous screens by module and i think it will come maybe late this year, samsung had a prototype but sony has a more developed thing since 2012 i think and is called Sony canvas.
Its not a gimmick it has 120fps, modular till 16K and beyond and for people that want screens the size of a wall or their houses, an option you dont have right now and Sony is bringuing it fast. It is called Sony Canvas and could arrive this year too, this will be perfect with a PC 4 Titan X pascal (native 16K in multiplataform titles released during ps3 era), and Ps4 pro (for exclusives and 4K, because the pixel per inch is still decent on a 16K display) and some people want 800 inch screens and Sony is bringuing it with HDR, so its not a gimmick is the future now for people with Money of course.
F. S. Not really. Crystal LED or CLEDIS destroys the OLED techonlogy. The only problem is that it costs too much for commercial use. Soon it's here! :D
your wording is too free. LG is manufacturing to sony's specs and manufacturing using sony's proprietary tech. you make it sound like bravia tech is running in LG sets too.
The statement "This is a unique execution of an OLED display that ONLY sony can bring to life" is complete lies when the panels in these Sony Tvs are actually made by LG...
Jarl Ballin' Sony invented OLED. They have the only Hollywood Award Winning OLED RGB Monitor, but it's too expensive for consumer use. Lot's be honest, the panels are acquired only from LG Display because it would be cost effective. Sony is already 10 years into the future with their CLEDIS 8K display.
Jarl Ballin' Not really, their processor, Trilumillious and X-Reality engine are what makes Sony TV's more great than anything else, OLED will help with some of the minor flaws
Preet Gurung yes it's for consumers who are willing to spend. They show concepts as well but consumers dying end up getting those products till 2-5 years later. Depends on what it is though.
Jay Bugatti then it's not a consumer product, sure they are cool but nothing to get excited about. This is just like that music player they unveiled a few months ago
I find it hard to get excited about a new television technology. I have 4k Monitos/TVs my eyes are only so good, the cinema is 4k and I go to the cinema for the experience and as big as that screen is it appears fine. A good 4k Blue Ray player on the other hand, I have been finding it difficult to purchase at a reasonable price especially in a PC.
I don't care too much for the screen resolution or technology they are using for their TVs but I do care for the quality of the product as a whole. My family owns a Samsung flat screen TV and within a year the set went kaput on us. I don't know how well their TV will fare but I do believe that Sony produces some of the most reliable products with great quality like my old Xperia Z that is still functioning till this day whereas my old Samsung Galaxy Note 2 died on me in just 11 months. I have it to my mom and in the 4 years that she has been using the phone it must have gone through 2 or 3 more repairs since I've given it to her.
I can't believe people still wonder why ps4 pro doesn't have a 4k Blu ray player, sony said when they reviled the ps4 that it's about the games first and foremost.there aren't even that many 4k Blu ray movies.
YES!!! THANK YOU SONY!!! OLED that isn't LG(Literally Garbage). If their OLED does in fact go over 400 nits in full screen and gets rid of ABL then we got ourselves the best TV in picture quality AND can actually compete with LED brightness. Don't you dare let me down Sony!
We actually do not know that currently as for the new Bravia OLED series. LG does not own OLED technology. They manufacture them and sell the OLED TV's. We can assume LG makes the panels for Sony. But that does not mean Sony is gonna do the same crap LG has done with their OLED series. I know the issues with LG OLED, I own one and sold it for it's issues with ABL and dim picture at fullscreen. Sony has never let me down in the last few years in display tech and I am hoping they show how OLED is done right.*fingers crossed*
Blueno CP9 look it up. Kodak invented OLED and LG purchased rights to use and Manufacture. Only LG are allowed to produce OLED so ALL TVs as of now will be using LG panels.
Good shit. If LG gets rid of ABL and goes brighter at fullscreen my ass is going back to LG. But seeing that they have done little to improve on that makes me lean on Sony for now. We just gotta wait for the spreadsheet on the specs.
not much on the TV front?, no entertainment laptop to complement tv?. a simple laptop for tv, gaming, radio, music, podcast, book, email, face time, phon and Amazon shopping.
Japanese tech firms are still in their 80s. TV, screens are no longer significant stuffs. Technically they may be great but it's usually evolution, not revolutionary.
All the crap that SONY is making excuses for the PS4 unable to play 4K bluray bcoz people dont buy physical disc and are opting for online streaming...and yet they are still making and promoting new Sony 4k bluray players
its a let down dude ...."4k image rendering....no 4k bluray player..... not even 1080p 60fps with that bump in gpu power and all those super nice specs they seem to be braggin about -_-
mangafreak2001 I never had a PS3 or PS4/Pro. My last console was PS2 and from their on I'm a mobile gamer. So don't know much about these things. But yes, it's really sad to hear that Pro is missing a feature. Wait for PS5 than...
Twocoolman115 *I DON'T CARE, THE GAMING INDUSTRY AND DIVISION OF SONY IS THE MAJORITY SECTOR THAT'S PRODUCING A POSITIVE REVENUE, THEREFORE GAMERS ARE WHAT THEY SHOULD TALK ABOUT* I'm entitled Millennial, give me what I want or there will be consequences. I have a twitter and Facebook, I will reck them if I don't get what I want! #Sarcasm_to_the_MAX
