Always a great time when these two teams meet.

Frei being upset at his defense on the second one after that dreadful display of goalkeeping is an incredible joke. Then Frei dropping the next one(he never catches the ball cleanly other teams should be following EVERY shot)...the Sounder defense is struggling, but from his play it's time to replace Frei. Absolutely horrific play by Frei all night.

I tuned into the game in the second half and for the first 15, 20 minutes i was like Seattle is gonna win 2-0 then the last 15 mins was crazy!! What a win Timbers 💚💚💛💛

Deserved victory and above all predictable victory for Portland, who continues to be a dangerous opponent especially for Seattle! Ivacic is a great goalkeeper. Seattle's defense was destroyed in the last 20 minutes with a Frei that he failed to convince.

I don't know how Schmetzer keeps getting owned by Gio time after time despite having the superior talent. For whatever reason, the Sounders don't seem to give a rat's rear-end against Portland, while Portland goes all in on Seattle and destroys them. it wouldn't shock me if Seattle rebounds from this loss and goes on another winning streak while Portland goes on another winless streak. If this is the win is the start of a unbeaten streak for Portland, fair play to them. Makes the rivalry even better when all 3 Cascadia teams are at their best. Last season clearly being the worst as all 3 teams failed to make the playoffs. As long as Seattle continues to beat everybody else (or mostly every else as we didn't beat FC Cincinnati), chances are, more trophies will come to Seattle. That's the biggest thing I want to see as a Sounders fan. I've seen 2 Open Cup wins and the CCL win in person. Hope I can witness a Shield and MLS Cup in that list someday.
