Unbelievable! I remember when I was a kid in the 50's and we crossed over the OLD bridge going from Dayton to Liberty. Water was up to the bridge and there were sandbags everywhere! I was never so scared as I was then!! Now there's a new bridge and it's still happening?!?!? WTF?
Lived there for 8 years - that detour must take an hour - ridiculous that there's really only one way in & out of town - after Harvey 90 was closed on both ends, we were isolated with no incoming supplies etc...very poor engineering & layout. And IIRC this is the NEW bridge!
I hope everyone is ok and everyone recovers. This would be a good time to help you family and friends. A lot of them are goning to lose vehicles do to the flood. They need to make their payments.
so they open release and have not calculated the consequences. So they closed HWy 90 as a precaution without a forecast for timing and water rise levels. Good job to show that you have no clue.
