Life changing advice like “I advise you that I’m charging you for having a trace amount of cannabis in your system that could in no way affect your driving but it means you will lose your license for 6 months, therefore losing your livelihood.” You mean like that?
I received an official caution for something stupid I did when I was 13 years old. Basically you get sat in a room where a cop lectures you for about an hour straight. The story I got was "I have a younger brother that used to get up to the same kinds of things that you did and if he didn't sort himself out he'd be in jail now." Apparently that was a pretty common speech for police officers to give teenagers who broke the law.
I still remember the ep where some guy got pulled over for drink driving. And after the initial breatho where they said "yeah mate, you gotta come back to the station for the evidentiary breath test" he asked if he could grab some stuff from his car before they left. He walks back to his car, grabs his wallet, and also necks a UDL before jumping back in the cop car. I swear he must have thought "aw, fuck me, 0.06 on the breatho? better have another drink if I wanna get the high score back at the station"
I mean, it was probably some stupid strategy to go "Yeh nah but I necked that UDL mate so take 0.05 off that, and LOOK I'm under!" whilst the tester just frowns at him and does a long sigh.
@@aimeerekeleon4423 means they cant breathe test him as he consumed alcohol after being pulled over. They probably just give him the full punish as if he refused the test.
As an American, it's hilarious watching the officers and show get worked up over the "trashed" vehicles. Half of the shitboxes in the US wouldn't be roadworthy in AU.
That's why we have the demerit system. But yeah we should impliment fines based on your yearly revenue. While we're at it change the tax system so it only cares about revenue too.
@@fenix849 the demerit system has its flaws. It's far too hard to afford lessons for a licence these days for low earning families. I have lived in high and low earning areas and there's a clear difference in how long it takes on average to obtain a full licence. There's also things like mandatory blood testing for marijuana after accidents involving medical or police assistance. This makes no sense in its current form as a person may smoke weed on Monday, be involved in a crash (even at no fault of their own) on Thursday, then lose their licence due to marijuana staying present in the system for far longer than its effects are active. Under current law (at least in South Australia) ANY trace amount is regarded enough to be a drug driving offence.
@@gizmodobaggins7040 There are too many dodgy driving schools out for money. The whole system is broken and the efforts to improve it are usually only additional penalties and restrictions added, adding cost and time. I think good schools are a very useful part of driver education, they are just too expensive and should be subsidized as it would benefit everyone
Random story but I had a random breath test yesterday, had the dog in the car and the cop was so stoked on it. He was patting her, she was licking his hand, it was so very pure. He was all like "aww look at you, you're such a sook" and we were like "yes, yes she is."
I really enjoyed when they play the american Cops, and then the NZ version (basically like this but even more chill) back to back. Makes the US cops seem super insane.
My all time favourite moment on Motorway Patrol (kiwi) was when a sheep got loose On The motorway. A sheep! In New Zealand! On a motorway! You could actually see the cop die a little inside as he said directly to the camera “Ahhh thiir uppeers to be a ship leees on tha mutterway ayeeee” bwahaha
Shannon Noll seems like a top guy. Uses his social media platform to share his life on the farm chilling with his family, while occasionally playing to packed out venues who are just stoked to be in his presence. I just reckon he's pretty content with his life.
I went to high school with the bloke in a skirt and slippers, I forgot he existed. Thank you friendlyjordies for that flashback into the worst 4 years of my life
I don't have a brother so watching this was like I recorded myself watching an episode, and they played that recording back to myself. You should do live watch parties of Highway Patrol.
I got pulled over this morning and I thought for sure I was screwed but the officer was really polite and knew I didn't have any offenses and let me off with a warning, made my week
The sunglasses actually are part of their uniform haha. I remember hearing about a case where it was found that a police officer was right by claiming that different sunglasses he had to pay for himself (because of light sensitivity) were tax deductible.
$250 for driving an unregistered car AND driving while suspended? MATE, i got a bloody $990 fine in the mail just for speeding. Granted i do live in SA.
The really impressive thing about this is that the guy's mace had a buttspike on it. He clearly knows how actual medieval combat worked and made a thoroughly practical weapon. Bet he'd survive a cassowary attack.
Keep going Jordan most of your videos are humorous, well put together, of course hilarious but same token informative..don’t know how you do it , small budget etc editing is well done 👍🏻
