I watched all of the Mock The Week before I began perusing hignfy and I am so glad. Both of them are very different yet still so entertaining I am enjoying watching the same weeks being rehashed two different ways. The people they have on are relevant and educational as well as hilarious. So glad to be watching!!
Go look at Richard Herring. He's fine a huge amount of 'chats', mildly based upon the interview idea, but laughing from start to finish, he was on an episode of hignfy, actually watched it before this, and it's with Victoria Coren-Mitchell, and they have a hugely entertaining and intelligent... conversation about the new Scrabble format. We're running out of people with such quick wit. Although the new gen they're bringing in, or did, as they're definitely in now in their own right, the likes of Sarah pascoe, John Richardson, John Widdecombe etc, is heartening. Best way to find out about politics is thru satire They're the only ones who can almost always get away with it because it's true.
@@Tiger-Baby thank you, I can always use others to check out. I've also enjoyed finding retro channels with shows from in the UK and am learning of the stars of the 60s through 90s😁👍
@@martenw757I LOVE Kathy, a legend. And a very talented writer. Her and Jo Brand have almost identical senses of humour, and they both have experience with mental health issues. Did you know, although it took me years, people have the Internet now so it probably comes up when she's even typed in. Gary Oldman is her brother. I just love that.
@@BugoHossBHand got older. As have those who have aged along with the HIGNFY family. I'm sure if you asked Kathy, she'd agree she's changed. Appearance wise. She's otherwise unchanged in values or attitude.
@Sir Scofferoff I bet she's crying all the way to the bank. Happily married, I bet she's so distressed that you aren't happy. Just ruined her life with your critique. It would be lovely to see your photo, just to compare. Your user name reminds me of the Beano readers I used to see. No need to say anything more, really.
David Mitchell was my gateway entertainer to these panel shows, Mock the Week, QI, WILTY, Room 101, You have been watching, Argumental, this, and I soon became a HUGE Fan (187cm 24stone)of Sarah Millican, I loved the Sarah Millican Television Programme. I don't watch Murikkkan Tv anymore, it's just Youtey and Brit Panel shows...
Shame about the Grammarly advert which keeps interrupting the video: it doesn't give you a lot of confidence in the product when the sentence which the progamme has corrected is still gramatically incorrect.
I love Sarah Millican. And bloody hell. Last time I was in a Little Chef was my mates Birthday party when we were 7.... Yeah just listen to what this lot say and you'll get the idea
The more I look at the comparison between New Labour cabinet members and the horrid Lapland, I come to think Ian got it wrong. I don't think Peter Mandelsson is the best example of a dead reindeer stuck to a shed. He would have stuck the reindeer to the shed. I think Mandy is the guy who beat up Santa, Prescott is the one who kicked off in the gingerbread house, Blears is the elf who went on strike, and I think closest to the dead reindeer nailed to the shed would be Straw.
That's just so fucking weird. I saw someone say that about Reggie Watts. I can only imagine their reactions if they were told this. One would be nice about it.
looking at the topics, the only real problem the UK faced was the Global Financial Crash that affected everyone. We didn't know how well off we were....pre-brexit. Look how far the UK has fallen in 15 years.
"...for you and I", Ian? An Oxford degree and doesn't know that it should be "...for you and me". No wonder Andy Hamilton didn't understand that the "lack of hair" comment was referring to both of them.
Maybe this was when the divine Sarah started to get really successful. Ian almost never wins, no matter who he's with. Add a milligramme of Millican et voilà !
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
I absolutely love left-wing comedians. Especially all the ones on the BBC. They are so sharp, so funny with their observations. So glad that they have cleared the decks and got rid of any hint of right-wing comedians now.
I know of 3, but they aren't top notch. Simon Evans, I think his name is, Lloyd someone who sounds just like Rhod Gilbert, on the radio, so I am constantly feeling let down, when I hear Lloyd, not Rhod, and name's gone on the other. You're right. They just can't mix with the best.
Jesús Christ this comment section is a shit show. Tons of people whining about politics or insisting that the show which just mocked all three major parties of the time relentlessly is somehow on their 'side'.
Hislop and the rest of them patronizing Sarah Millican, he’s still a captain on this over rated show and editing the hateful Private Eye whilst Sarah Millican has taken over the comedy universe Vote Labour kick this rancid Tory government out (23/06/2019)
How is Hislop's Private Eye "hateful"? It may have been pretty bigoted, mostly about "wimmin" and "pooves", during the Richard Ingrams days but Hislop put an end to most of that, removing Auberon Waugh, Nigel Dempster and all the other dead wood.
I share your politics but I have heard Ian really tear into Tories. I think he is pretty fair. I must admit I have seen a Private Eye mag, about twice in 30 years. I love his rants on Robert Maxwell. And Boris.
PCOS. Birth control. Antidepressants. Corticosteroids. Thyroid dysfunction. Just a few medical reasons and medications that can cause weight gain. All more important than your opinion. Especially when she has a partner who loves her as she is.
